How does this unit work with a base box? Does it have WiFi?

You need an ethernet cable attached to a router to use it. The problem with VoIP is that WiFi is not an ideal solution. Too much of it drops out. Rather than a corded phone, get a cordless DECT With our voiSip service we use a few DECT phones in offices where it is not practical to pull cable. Many of these phones are cordless DECT models, and two or three are also corded handset models (phones connect by DECT back to a base station). In addition to corded and cordless models, Yealink offers a variety of DECT models.

It is nice to have a The new remote office I set up chose RingCentral as its Voice over Internet Protocol provider
5/5

I needed a phone to match it, so I chose this Grandstream device. I think it's great and has a lot of great * * LIKES RingCentral is extremely easy to set up, the management tool via the internal network is easy to use, as is the voice clarity. The speakerphone, too, is very clear and well-sounding. A key feature of the main display is that the app determines the location of your home and shows the weather forecast for today and the next two days, A surprising amount of usefulness can be derived from that feature. You can check things like call history, see voicemail and automatically forward calls within a short time frame. The phone is highly customizable, allowing me to choose a custom wallpaper, ringtone, dialing groups, and contacts. As far as I'm concerned, I get it to work exactly the way I want it to. A dislike for Phone cords can easily become tangled, as they do with all phones. There are a few functions that are a little out of reach on the phone menu. There is a config option to configure the weather only on the weather screen, for example. There is a button in the middle of the arrows for configuring the phone. There is no option for changing a ring tone in the phone options section, but rather under preferences.

There is no warranty on this item It took about a year for the screen to become extremely light
3/5

This is the third of three I own. White started to appear on the screen as soon as one of them emerged. Thus, all of the text on your screen can no longer be read. All previous VOIP phones I had had black-and-white displays and they are still working fine after seven plus years. *br*br*** Update trying to get warranty replacements does not seem to be The Grandstream warranty does not apply to units purchased from Amazon, which is not an authorized re-seller This person sells.

The VOIP phone is a decent player
5/5

The speakerphone is a good one. Now that I've had this as my office phone for some time, I'm quite comfortable with it. As with all telephones, it has its quirks and, as with all VOIP telephones, getting it configured and integrated correctly really should be the job of a trained technician. It must be said, however, that there is enough documentation available to make integration with a hand-built Asterisk PBX installation work well, and the result has been very satisfactory. Its speakerphone is a particularly impressive feature of this beast. There is a good quality microphone, and the speaker on the phone is powerful. It is even better when it is full There's no need to mute background music or silence the room for you to take a call on full duplex and even with reasonable call quality. There is no problem with a large number of these participating in a conference call. Even some of them can use speakerphones without it disrupting the call. The bottom line is that I am very happy with having chosen this phone to replace a classic wired PBX in my office.

Freeswitch and Fusion PBX are both compatible with this
5/5

Freeswitch and Fusion PBX are both compatible with this. Here are some things to watch out for when using it at home if you are using this I'm sorry. If you reserve IP for the device by MAC ID, make sure you do - You should set up priority traffic for IP, and if possible, speed control to ensure any other media services (Pandora, Netflix, gaming, etc) that might impact the quality of the stream. I'm sorry. *Set up Remote Device Provision for FusionPBX in order to push settings from FusionPBX to SIP phones - very helpful. This is what I see on the remote server When FusionPBX is installed, you will have access to the Fail2Ban service, which is integrated with the firewall rules. When I first got the Grandstream 21xx phone I had a lot of trouble with dropped calls, and it was due to the firewall rules on the remote server and the internal LAN rules. As a result of this, I did reset the device and upgrade to latest firmware in an attempt to resolve the consistent problems. I was able to resolve the issue with the new PBX server.

Hope this helps others as well.

It is always a good idea to be cautious
3/5

The phone does have its limitations, even though it is a good phone. In addition, if the screen does not display caller ID in full, you will not be able to view The first four letters of the ID and the telephone number will be sent to you. the call history, it extends to five. As a result, don't expect to be able to fully utilize this full color screen as Grandstream ought to have but seems to have taken the easy way out. If you're considering buying this phone with a headset, find out if that headset is compatible before you purchase. The RJ9 jack (not the RJ11) is used in this model. This will not apply to any other type than the one It is impossible to remove the annoying default screens. Additionally, you may be able to find the manual online (not included). Generally, the manual is written by engineers, it seems, without regard for the end user, as can be seen by looking at the GUI selections and nomenclature on the front page, all of which is completely programmable without being an Purchasing an IP phone that fits your needs is an adequate choice for the price.

SIP phones that are a good entry level option
4/5

My decision to change from Skype to VoIP resulted from price changes recently. To match my SIP phone, I needed an ms-based system for my business. It offers many useful features for its low price point, making it a great phone for the under $100 market. Among the pros There's only one screensaver, a photo slideshow, and you can't change the photos in the slideshow. Phone boots up slowly at first but in under 30 seconds.
