Selected User Reviews For Panasonic KX-TGM420W + (1) KX-TGMA44W Amplified Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine and Voice Volume Booster upto 40 dB (2 Handsets)
After my 84-year-old mother moved in with me after breaking her hip, I noticed that she had stopped calling my siblings and their families because she couldn't hear them, and the transcribing phone I had worked with her healthcare team to get for her just wasn't convenient for her to use or converse through because it wasn't cordless and it was delayed in its transcriptions or mistranscribed due to misunderstanding accents, etc. So, after much research, I decided to purchase a new phone for her She can hear even if she isn't wearing her hearing aids because of the sound boost feature. It gave her access to a world of communication with friends and family that she had sorely missed. It's also a very well-made phone, which is important for seniors with arthritis who are prone to dropping things. We couldn't be happier with this phone, and I only wish I had purchased it for her sooner. When I'm not at home, it has improved her quality of life and ensured her safety.
Pros: Setup is a breeze. Sound quality is good, and it can be amplified for the hearing impaired. hearing. The extra handset quickly registers, and the base battery keeps the phone operational in the event of a power outage (which is crucial). The ringer is turned off when the button on the base is pressed, but it illuminates to remind you that it is turned off. This allows you to be undisturbed while also remembering to turn the ringer back on so you don't miss a crucial call. There isn't another phone that does this that I'm aware of. Cons: None.
For years, I've had a lot of trouble communicating over the phone. Because I could never understand what people said, I always had my husband respond. My life is back to normal now that I have this phone. I'm not afraid to pick up the phone any longer. It's wonderful to be able to communicate with my children once more. I used to hang up on the phone because I couldn't understand much of what the kids were saying. Every time someone called for me, I felt sick to my stomach. It's so much fun to talk on the phone now! Thank you very much!.
I've been looking for a phone that I can actually hear on, because yes, I still have a landline. The ear piece stays in place a lot better than my other Panasonic headphones, which are flat against my head and difficult to hear even with the volume turned up. While on calls, I found myself adjusting all over my ear area so I could hear what was being said, as this handset has the older indentation to hold a normal sized ear, similar to the older style handsets of the past. I don't have a hearing problem, and I didn't buy it for that reason, so I'm constantly adjusting the new set to lower the volume, but that's fine. That's fine by me. I also like how the answering machine or when a call comes in blinks red to alert me to check it. Although it was a little more than I had hoped to pay, I am confident that it will serve me well for many years. When I'll need to adjust the volume to a higher level.
With this phone, I was able to locate it. I like how big the handset is, how clear the reception is, how much volume/boost there is, and how slow the speech is. I won't go into detail about all of the unique features of this phone because it would take too long to do so. Check it out for yourself, and you should be pleasantly surprised. The phone is fantastic. Everything.
This phone was purchased for my deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly de The ability to add quick dial numbers was a huge plus for me. While using the phone was simple, there was a technical issue with the phone not always ringing, causing her to miss numerous calls. I double-checked with a different set of cordless phones to make sure it wasn't the phone line.
The phone requires some programming, setup, and entering of phone numbers for family and friends, but it is a BLESSING for my elderly, deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafenedly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly de In his right ear, he wears a hearing aid. Finds that the phone works best on speaker with volume boost, which is AMAZING. He's able to communicate over the phone once more. It has a red flashing light on top that turns on when there is a call. Incoming callers/phone numbers are displayed on a relatively large display. For missed calls, there's a message center. It's a good size for older hands to hold. If you have an older relative or friend who is hard of hearing, this is one of the best gifts you could give them.
Update August 2021br>About two weeks ago, all of the handsets began to develop worsening static issues; we're not sure if this is due to the base unit or why it took two months for it to happen. When I press the tone button, the handsets individually reset to a clear line, but as soon as I make or receive a call, the static escalates to the point where the conversation is no longer understandable. br>br>I've double-checked all lines, tried new phone cords, moved the Magic Jack Unit to a direct router connection, and even ordered a replacement Magic Jack Unit. We have FiOS internet and have been using MJ for the past three years without any issues. The Wifi MJ app allows you to make and receive calls with crystal clarity. br>br>After that, I switched out the Panasonic base unit for our Captel phone. CapTel calls were crystal clear once the static was gone. As a result, I'm left with the impression that the Panasonic phone or base unit has failed. br>br>Because we need handsets in five different locations and the Captel phone isn't cordless, I'm looking for a base unit with cordless phone extensions once more. I'm seriously considering VOIP with a Zoom phone and/or Google Voice, so I'm looking into Yealink phones right now. br>br>Orginal Review June 2021br>After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned that the volume would be inadequate. It's been about a month since I've been there. Hearing aids are worn by both my husband and me. I have tinnitus and he is hard of hearing. We don't need to use the speaker button because the volume is loud enough. We can hear the conversation even if we don't have our hearing aids on. I have a problem with my voice and can only speak in hushed tones. My whisper has been picked up by the phone, and everyone has been able to hear what I'm saying so far. br>The large number, backlight, and large flashing light to indicate someone had left a message are all very similar. We were used to a different Panasonic model before this one, so setup was simple. Both the menu and the codes are the same. The other allowed me to give each handset a unique name. This isn't to say I don't miss the feature.
