The base unit was simple to mount on my wall where my old phone had been, and the robo calls stopped as soon as I connected the phone. When I want to add a name and phone number to my phone directory, or edit one that I've already entered, I still need to consult my manual. It takes a long time to figure out how to do everything this phone system can do because there are so many instructions. I keep the manual near the phone in the hopes of becoming more familiar with all of the features over time. The issue was that the phone didn't ring most of the time; the display would show the number, but there was no ring, and the answering machine wouldn't pick up because the phone didn't ring. The ringer was turned on and working because it would ring when a new number was dialed for call blocking, but not for numbers that I had specified should be allowed through. Furthermore, despite the addition of numbers that circumvented the call block, the directory indicated that no numbers had been stored. Following your initial contact with AT, T, Amazon, and Magic Jack all determined that this particular phone would not function properly with Magic Jack's phone service. T worked fine with it, but the newer software must be interfering in some way. When I realized the first phone wasn't defective because the second one did the same thing, I had to return it and get a replacement.

The clarity is excellent, and I appreciate the call screening feature. The difference between call blocking and screening is that you must press the blocking button on first-time calls (telemarketing), and I've discovered that their phone numbers change frequently. Screening puts an end to calls and gives you the option of accepting or declining the call. I've recommended this phone to others after setting up your directory and having no problems receiving calls.

I've used Panasonic and Vtech, but this one outperforms them. If you purchase additional satellite cordless phones, you must follow the instructions to the letter in order for them to sync with the base unit. I'm satisfied in general.
