Questions & Answers
You can listen to music through it, but it's designed more for voice and vocal range, so it lacks the bass of music speakers.
It rings on both, but the speaker does not come on when you pick up the phone.
The S3 is a more recent version. I have two S3s and love them, so I'm not sure why they're the same price.

The mute/speaker switch is a switch that allows you to choose between being silent and speaking. The indicator light is sunken just enough into the bezels to be partially obscured, which is inconvenient. Because the top-mounted mute and volume buttons are touch sensitive, there is no tactile feedback that the buttons have been pressed. The mute button, which is likely the most frequently used in a conference setting, is located in the middle of all the other buttons, making it easy to accidentally press another. The mute, volume, and speaker-mute buttons are all located on the right side of the screen. It's inconvenient that the indicator, battery meter, and indicator all use the same set of LEDs. In a team meeting, the call button has no effect. Because there is no way to quickly change the volume, a volume knob would have been far superior to proxy buttons. br>br>On my Mac, pressing the play button launches iTunes, while pressing the call button has no effect. The mute button in a team meeting mutes the device but not the call, so no one on the other end of the line knows you're muted. This may or may not be a good thing.
Anyone who has spent time on a conference call knows how annoying a bad microphone and speaker can be for both the user and the people they're speaking with. The sound of the CPU cooling fan was picked up by my laptop's microphone, and others said it sounded like I was riding a motorcycle! I tried using a headset, but they are inconvenient in other ways; luckily, I have the room to myself and can use a speaker. br>br>In any case, the Anker conference speaker is excellent value for money. The audio is crystal clear and loud, far superior to the speakerphone function on your phone. And this works with both your phone and a computer, but not at the same time. br>br>If you plug this unit into a computer, the computer quickly recognizes it as a microphone and speakers, and everything works fine, but YOU CAN'T USE THE BLUETOOTH SPEAKERPHONE WHILE IT IS IN THE COMPUTER. I put it in all caps to make it stand out, thinking it would do both for me, but I later realized that wouldn't work anyway, and I'm sure others will think the same way. It would interrupt the conference call if it connected to your phone, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; however, the computer retains "control" over it even after the conference call has ended, so if it's plugged into the computer, your phone won't be able to use it. Your phone continues to connect and send audio to it, but it is ignored, and you are unable to hear it! br>br>However, while Bluetooth allows you to connect your computer and phone, the connection behavior was inconsistent, and it didn't always do what I wanted (and there's no way to program it to know what your preference is at any given time). So it doesn't do exactly what you want, but it gets the job done. I've only used it for a few phone calls so far, but it's a lot louder and easier to talk to than a conference table phone. Finally, it's not as large as the photo suggests, and it won't fit in your pocket, but it will fit in a computer bag, making it an excellent tool for road warriors. br>br>BTW, Amazon, you'd like me to give this device a "Sheerness" rating. Really ?.
I am running Windows 10 Pro and keep my system up to date with the latest hardware drivers, but I was unable to adjust mic input levels in the Windows control panel, and levels were too low to be heard when I joined online teleconferences. br>br>In order to use this device, you must first create an Anker Soundcore account. To switch from "personal mode" to "meeting mode," go to com and download the phone app from Google Play. The PowerConf S3 must be successfully paired with your phone, as well as paired or connected to your computer via USB cable. There is no way to change the mode on the device, so it's up to you to fiddle around with your phone before a meeting to see or confirm which mode it's in. The app itself contains no information about the differences between these two modes or what the app is supposed to do versus what it actually does, if anything at all. This feature should be able to be turned on and off on the device itself, as it appears to be quite important. In addition, there is no additional information in the user manual about these modes. The only instruction in the manual is to get the app. br>br>With Windows applications, the mute button is not recognized. The device indicator light and respective mute icon in the application do not synchronize when switching between a hard press device mute and a mouse click on the mute button in an application, resulting in a hot mic laying shade or talking to an empty room. br>br>I'm not going to waste time troubleshooting electronic debris and operational nuances for this amount of money. It's preferable to purchase a speakerphone that has already been certified by Microsoft for use with Skype or Microsoft Teams. There is no certification for this device. That, I believe, is self-explanatory. One star. I received a response.
THIS IS NOT THE DEVICE FOR YOU IF YOU WANT TO USE IT WITH AN ONLINE CONFERENCE PLATFORM LIKE WEBEx, ZOOM, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT! I've had complaints that I sound distant, which is strange because the speaker is right in front of me. The output volume is INCREDIBLE! As if they were in the same room with me, I can hear everything perfectly clear. I just wish it worked the same way with me being heard; when I called customer service, I was told it wasn't compatible with Zoom, WebEx, or other similar programs. Ummm huh? I couldn't figure it out either. A device designed specifically for conferencing does not function as intended. Who knew? 🤷🏾.
