Questions & Answers

Is music on hold supported by the Vtech cm18445, and if so, what music source does it use?

When callers are placed on hold, you have the option of selecting what they hear. br>To have one of the three default musics played for callers on hold, select the desired music (M. 1 - 3) in the case of the M. menu of sources br>Select Recorded M if you want callers on hold to hear audio or music from a source you recorded in the console with the audio cable. in the M. menu of sources Connect an audio source, such as a computer, mobile phone, or MP3 player, to the console using the audio cable if you want callers to hear audio that is directly streamed into the phone.

What's the best way to disable voicemail?

Brian - MENU/SELECT should be pressed. Press MENU/SELECT, then Arrow UP or Down until Line Mode appears. Select the desired line or All Lines by scrolling up or down, then pressing MENU/SELECT. Select No Answer by scrolling up or down, then confirm by pressing MENU/SELECT.

Is all that's required for this phone to work is a dial tone? Is it compatible with Time Warner Cable?

To make outside calls, it must have a dial tone, but I believe it will work handset-free. There are no phone lines connected to the handset. Yes, we've got it working for two Time Warner customers. It should work with any carrier as long as they provide a "POTS" or analog phone line for you to connect to.

My phone is a Spectrum. There is only one phone number that I have at the moment. Is it necessary for me to contact them and add anything in order to be able to use all four lines?

Yes, you'll need one number for each line you'll be using. You'll need four numbers if you want four separate lines to be available at once. Dummy numbers ring into your main line on the extra lines. Spectrum bills you per numbered line; for example, if you want four lines at $30 each, your phone bill will be $120.

The Best Non-Profit Organization I've discovered a subscription business phone system
4/5

This is an excellent phone system for a small office; I was looking for a NON-VOIP phone system. a subscription solution, as well as a way to manage features "on-the-fly" "house," and this was a good fit. The biggest thing I'd change (and why I docked a star) is that you can only choose between business and non-business auto attendants. Every day has its own set of business hours. I believe that each day's business hours should be able to be changed. For instance, the ability to set business hours of 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Monday through Friday, with non-business hours of 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Saturday Evenings and weekends are considered business hours. This is a problem because the hours you set are applied to EVERY day. For example, even though my business is closed on weekends, if someone calls me during the day on Saturday or Sunday, they will hear the auto attendant asking for business hours rather than hearing that I am closed. I've gotten around this by mentioning my work hours in the work-related email. Greetings from the auto attendant. Another thing I'd change is the ability for the auto attendant to pick up the phone right away. Only the lowest rings are allowed to go to "2" in this system. " This means the phone must ring twice before the auto attendant picks up the phone. Finally, I'd suggest allowing the handsets to flash a light to indicate that there is a message on the handset (I realize this is an accessory, not the main station, but I thought it was worth mentioning). br>br>Aside from the aforementioned points, I like this system a lot. There are a lot of bells and whistles here. On-hold music [including the ability to add your OWN music to the mix]. The ability to have separate mailboxes for each extension, the ability to add wireless HANDsets and wireless HEADsets, the ability to screen calls, paging, call transfers, call holding, and much more would have been a dealbreaker for me because I wanted to add my own original music (I'm a musician) In addition to the phone system, I have two wireless HANDsets and two wireless HEADsets. They're both fantastic. I love being able to type and do other things while talking on the phone with the HEADset, especially since I pace when I speak. br>br>Overall, this business phone system has met my expectations. The flaws I mentioned earlier are minor enough that they have no bearing on how I feel about the system as a whole. I did a lot of research and couldn't find any other non-profit organizations. These features are available in subscription phone systems. And I paid a very reasonable price for it.

Setting up/registering "used" components, the "phone out of range OR no power at CL or base" message, and the "hold" line issue are all issues that need to be addressed
4/5

We purchased the VTech office phone system as a whole. From Amazon's warehouse deals, I got a console, two base stations, a handset phone, and a headset. So far, it's a nice phone system with a lot of features at a reasonable price; the only flaw I see is the "hold" line issue that others have mentioned. To avoid this, learn to hang up the phone if you choose the wrong line to call out on, then select the other line and continue with your outgoing call. br>The second point I'd like to make is for those who bought used equipment and are still setting up the system. Before you can register these orphaned "used" components to the main console desk phone you have, you must first "unregister" all of the devices connected to your main console. br>If you bought a "used" main console like I did, you must first "unregister" all of the devices connected to your main console. Then, following the instructions in the manual, register (connect) your "cordless" desk phone set(s) to the main console desk phone. If you buy a used cordless accessory handset phone, the screen will most likely say "phone out of range OR no power at CL or base" when you plug in the battery and place it on the charger base. " This means your handset phone is still registered to another main console as an "orphan. " Before you can add it to your main console, you must first delete the previous registration. How to do it, according to the manual, is a cinch. Pick up the phone from the charger and dial *331734 (nothing will appear on the phone screen while you do this). The phone will beep twice, reboot, and then display a message stating that it is ready to be registered to your console. To connect/register the handset phone to the main console, follow the instructions in the manual. You must first unregister an orphan headset if you own one. I got the procedure by calling VTech's customer service. Place the headset on the charging base first. The disconnect button should have a solid blue light. Then quickly push the volume control to the side, release it, and press the disconnect button on the side of the microphone arm. Finally, quickly push the volume control to the - position. Push the volume control to the side and then to the -, then release it and press the disconnect button. Release it and press the disconnect button on the opposite side. If you do it quickly enough, the light should change from solid blue to alternating red and blue, indicating that the headset is now un-tethered. signed up for To register to your primary desk set, follow the instructions in the manual. br>I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because of the "hold" line issue, as well as the fact that their "troubleshooting" section had no procedures or directions for programming orphan equipment. When I needed assistance, their technical support was excellent. Aside from these flaws, the phone system is fantastic, and I'm hoping it will last as long as our previous VTech phones.
