Questions & Answers
Because the USB power cord was not included with the viewer I received, I returned it.
The viewing screen measures 69mm by 69mm (approximately 2 3/4 in by 2 3/4 in). It's a well-known fact. I am very happy with the unit that was designed for me. The image is not projected onto the screen; instead, you look at the slide through the screen with a 3x magnification.
I believe it is solely for the purpose of observation.

I received my DigitNow yesterday, thanks to the one-day shipping option. I'm looking at 35mm slides from when I was in the US Army and stationed overseas 50 years ago. The image quality of the viewer is outstanding. The brightness of the backlight is just right, not too bright to glare the image or too dim to see clearly. Batteries and a USB charging cable are included with the viewer. The viewer ($23) has wowed me. 99 as of this writing with an 10% Amazon coupon).
This is a sturdily constructed viewer. It is simple to use. Batteries, a USB cable, and instructions were all included in the package. a good- a polishing cloth of a suitable size br>I requested it so that I could see negative strips. Because the ad photos show a colored print, I assumed the viewer would interpret it as a 'print. ' br>The entrance to the movie theater is quite large. Negatives fit in easily, but the space isn't big enough for mounted negative strips. br>The viewer does enlarge the negatives a little, but not enough to make people identifiable. br>Now that I think about it, the ad photos have to be of colored slides.
For years, I've been a regular Amazon shopper. This is the first time I've ever had something shipped without a box. The shipping label was attached to the item's plastic packaging. The shrink wrap on the contents was torn, but everything was still there. The product box had a tear, but no other damage was visible to me. There were two pieces to the item- As a result, I simply snapped them back into place. It was sent directly from the seller, not through Amazon. br>br>Clunky: br>br> A slide would occasionally refuse to fall into the slide bay. I pushed it through with a cardboard strip. Push with one hand while pressing the release button with the other. br>br>It was less expensive than the competition. However, it appears that simply viewing a slide is rather expensive. br>br>The viewer is bright, and I was able to clearly see the slides.
It accomplishes precisely what we require - allow us to quickly look through a collection of slides we discovered It's a million times better than holding them up to the light. More information about the USB cable could have been included in the listing - It came with the package and all we had to do was plug it in with a USB wall wart. This is a significant advantage over models that rely solely on batteries and do not include a USB charging port. We were taken aback by the fact that the viewing screen/glass was filthy. We can clean the outside, but there appear to be smudges on the inside, indicating that the factory's quality control is lacking. It still works fine for us because we only use it to quickly select which slides to send out for scanning. In addition, I am pleased with the cost.
When I was a kid, we had something similar, but it was no longer there. I was given the family's collection of slides and grew tired of squinting at them while holding them up to the light. This was the ideal answer. Squinting is no longer necessary because the image has been magnified to the point where faces can be seen. I have yet to use the movie slot, but it is something I intend to do in the near future.
This Slide viewer is ideal for what I'm trying to accomplish. Since my old projector broke, I've had a lot of slides I haven't seen. My office space is limited, so this projector will fit wherever I have room. When viewed, the slides are crystal clear, it's simple to set up and use, and it takes up very little space. It was an excellent value for the money, and I strongly recommend it.
My only criticism is that when inserting a slide, it can become stuck. These are old cardboard slides that have been mounted on a wall. They're simple to remove, so there's no major issue.
