Questions & Answers

Once the online auto document feeder has scanned 50 pages into one report, can you keep scanning into the one report? Do you know if it can scan up to 50 pages at once?

As long as the driver and Document Capture application are both installed, you can add more pages to the scans you've already made. A member of the Epson team

Do you have any experience with this scanner for more than two years? (moderate use) The Neat Scanner I was replacing started to fail after a year or so. ?

It is a professional scanner from top to bottom and not a Neat. Since I have a true paperless system, I scan 99% of all of my documents (bills, receipts, instructions, etc.) when I receive them, then shred the originals when they're no longer needed. Documents that are legal in nature are the only things I do not shred. As part of my routine, I make an offsite backup copy every month, and I make an additional backup copy every year. There are a significant number of documents I've scanned (more than moderate use), and the scanner always performs BTW, this is my first Epson scanner. It is my third scanner of this type.

What version of Windows does the software support?

There is no specific answer to this question. It's important to note a few operational changes they made when they updated the drivers on the included driver disk with WIN10. The one thing I would have done differently if I could have done it all over again is to keep those drivers instead of updating them. In fact, now you have to double click the scan button in order to perform a scan, where before it only required one touch. This does not seem to be a huge issue, however I would state that it is not "quite" as compatible with Windows 10

Does it have the ability to separate and file pages based on the document's data? The alternative to scanning, renaming, copying and pasting. ?

Using Epson Document Capture Pro with the ES 2000 does not come bundled in the software, but you can gain access to this feature by downloading and installing the software Document Capture Pro gives you the ability to create file separation parameters based on OCR data. The Utilities section of the Support page of the scanner provides a link for downloading it. This team works on Epson scanners

Trying to figure out why Twain scanners are so fast- It is only for twain that I buy it
5/5

It was a good decision to get three Epson scanners to compare and see which is the best. The ES-51 was delivered to me A400, ES-E These devices have a maximum power consumption of 500W In addition to my DS, I also have a DSi My comparison is to a 510 from a few years ago. Working as a computer technical support specialist for a lot of small clinics is my job. Fujitsu Snapscan scanners are my favorite, but Twain scanning is needed by many offices because their software integrates with them. For offices that need twain, I tend to go with Epson scanners rather than Fujitsu scanners because Fujitsu scanners are pretty expensive. For the offices I work with, I wanted to find out if there are reasons to purchase one or the other. The ES-100 can be used to compute A400, ES-E I have a 500W power supply and my old DS-80 Document feeder scanning is the only feature of the 510. This new version of ES- provides I expect 400 and ES-100 to be the same The 500W is capable of 35 pages per minute, which is quite an improvement over the 26 pages a minute of the DS-140 Your USB 3 will need to be updated. To get this speed, you need a USB 2. 0 port and the included cable. Besides being faster than the DS- it also has a larger memory As far as the new scanners are concerned, I don't notice any difference between my old one and these new ones. Work proceeds in a similar manner. In terms of software, the two systems are similar. In older Epson models, there may be some speed gains, but there will not be many other improvements. The ES-100 can be used to compute The 500W does have built-in wireless, but it isn't fast enough to be of much importance. It is possible to scan directly to the cloud or to a mobile device. There's nothing wrong with it, it is I have found this to be true for all wireless scanners I have tried. A special edition of the E-Scan We plan to purchase more of the ES-400 once we get wifi, so we will purchase more of the ES-400s. The scanners are 400 in number. Although the difference is only $50, I'm sure some clients will opt to upgrade to the ES-400 The only reason they bought 500W was that they thought they might make use of the WiFi. According to my past experience with previous scanners, the wifi scanning is not There is no need for the DS-E With a flatbed and a document feeder, the 1630 can handle most document scanning needs. I find this mix to be quite interesting. A flatbed might be of interest to some offices. My initial impression is that I am not sure it will be very useful after trying it. While 25 pages per minute is slower than other scanners, it is still faster than most. The glass also has a rather large footprint considering that it is 8 inches wide. Because it is 5x11, it doesn't fit on a desk as well. of the offices I work with don't need a flatbed very A large number of all-you-can-eat restaurants are located there The flatbed is used there when it is needed so that they do not waste resources elsewhere. There are some graphic designers who need a flatbed scanner, but they would prefer a better scanner than this, since they don't need document feeders. Epson Perfection flatbed scanners for graphic designers). The speed and convenience of having a desktop scanner at your desk are things that offices rely on and neither of these is really addressed by this scanner. The idea probably has an audience, but for me it was more interesting before it was used. There is not a lot of difference in the software for all of these scanners. A twain driver works great, and it gives it the ability to integrate with other scanning software. Compared to Fujitsu Snapscan software, the Epson software is ok but not as easy to use. The Snapscan software allows me to create my own custom scan location and settings and then just press the button on the scanner to have the scan taken instantly in the desired location. This application also has the ability to name files as I go along. The Epson Software requires me to open the software and click more buttons than what I wish to do. You just have to wait a little longer. Snapscans, if I do not need twain, are what I buy. I buy Epson and do not use the software if I need twain. I wouldn't expect an Epson scanner to last as long as a Snapscan scanner, despite the fact that they have all been perfectly reliable so far. Several of my offices were forced to replace 10 year old SnapScans because they are really obsolete (and the scanning was very heavy). It seems that I get 2-sided scans with Epson scanners The last time I saw them was 5 years ago. This is because they are not made as well. It is my preference to keep purchasing Epson scanners as they suit the purposes I require. Out of the two scanners, I find the Epson to be the most reliable. In the end, I find the scanners to be very dependable. Unless a 25% speed boost is enough to justify replacing old Epson scanners, I see no reason to upgrade. I believe Epson scanners are the best choice if you need to scan twain.

To use this scanner, you need to buy it
5/5

In my review for the scanner I wrote earlier today, I recommended not purchasing it. After repeatedly failing to scan and having the scanner lock-up, I called HP customer support I spent almost an hour on the phone with tech support. Despite our efforts, we were unable to get the scanner to run, and error codes appeared. When I contacted Epson's customer support a second time, I had the item packed to return, but the tech advised that I remove the flatbed scanning software I'd been using, which was for a different brand of flatbed scanner I used only for scanning The first time, I was skeptic, but I did what was instructed. My next step was to reassess Having downloaded the scanner from the Epson support website, I have been scanning old documents for the past two hours. I think I passed through at least 500 pages without any errors! The item I received was exactly what I was looking for. It was a pleasure to speak with Epson tech support. After being connected to a tech for less than 3 minutes, I knew what to do. I have never had this kind of success with a call center before. My experience with this item has been excellent and I recommend it highly As I type this, I have 50 years of documents to scan. It sure makes my life and this project a lot easier to have a scanner that works this well even with odd sized papers!.

Alternative software is available but is not as good as the price
4/5

The Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 is my current scanner, so I decided to test this This system performs significantly better than an iX500 (35-70 pages per minute versus 25-50) and costs less as well. The software that comes with it is incomparable to the elegant and simple-to-use The app is cheap and poorly designed Software that is bundled with the iX500 should be used. The native software from Epson is so bad it should embarrass the company. The worst I've ever seen. TWAIN compliance is not a problem for this scanner, but it is not for the iX500. In this way, I can run the scanner without the Epson software by using Adobe Acrobat to run the scanner, which is quite functional. Despite its low noise, fast speed, and no jamming, it isn't hard to use. (This is how bad the Epson software is. ) If I didn't have Adobe Acrobat, I would have returned it.

A refurbished item may not be as good as it was previously supposed to be
3/5

This is the first time I have bought anything refurbished. I bought 3 of them for my office. The installations went smoothly without any issues. One day after the first scanner failed, a second one failed. There was a break in the piece. I think it is some kind of feeder wheel. A couple of days later, the second scanner failed to respond to computer scanning requests. Each scanner is not allowed to scan more than 100 pages a day. Since using the EPSON scanners more than 6 years ago without having any issues, they were too slow for the staff to use. repackaged all three scanners and sent them back to Amazon the same day I received them. My Amazon account was quickly refunded and I bought 3 This is an excellent company. Among the best things about them is that they're fast, reliable and great for the price. We have installed TWAIN driver to make our medical software work.

There are a lot of incompatibilities with Windows! It is really hard to work with Epson software
3/5

The scanner does not work with any of my Windows 7 programs that expect WIA. There are many problems with the twain interface Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. (There seems to be an issue with relinquishing ownership of the device. I often get messages that the scanner is in use or unavailable. Due to limitations in twain, duplex imaging cannot be performed. The Epson spokesperson bristles at the suggestion that it is Microsoft's fault Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is a program by Microsoft that is utilized In the event of a driver failure, please get in touch with Microsoft. Even so, it has problems renunciating ownership, as it only works well with Epson Scan 2, although it works decently with that. Thank you for your understanding. Having used many scanners during the years, I can say that this one works the worst with Windows of any I have ever used! I have updated I finally found a place in the manual where it is admitted that WIA does not work. Quite a bit of information there. Thank you!.
