These are both what I got. It took me some time to realize that Fujitsu scans were a little out of focus, akin to an out of focus image produced by a camera lens. Using VueScan software, I was able to eliminate differences between both scanners and, yes, Fujitsu consistently produced images that were out of focus, whereas Epson produced images that were fairly sharp. There was disappointment on my part. It is possible that Fujitsu can be calibrated, but I haven't found any information on how to do it.
