Yes, I bought the 630 with 410 ink, and I also ordered the 273, but after talking to Epson, who said that this printer also needs 410, I returned the 273 and canceled its order. It is for the 600 printer of the past. Even though the cartridges look identical, I would not ignore one if I had This comment should not be posted on Amazon's frequently bought with that printer page!

The price of this printer alone would be $89 if I ordered only this printer. In order to start printing with it, will there be ink cartridges included or do I need to order them separately?

I was provided with the ink cartridges for my printer.

Will the wifi be able to Is it possible to set up a wi-fi connection using only an Android tablet or Chromebook?

It's okay to do so

Please beware! After the firmware update, only Epson ink is accepted by the printer
3/5

I usually use this printer until I updated the firmware This was on January 12, 2018). In the past, this printer would accept 3rd party/replacement ink cartridges. Now it refuses to recognize the ink even though I try everything I can think of Recent purchases have also made them available to me! A real pain in the arse. A new firmware version cannot be installed, and an older version cannot be installed. There is no way to use an earlier version of firmware because the programmers locked it out. (I am a full-time student and can't afford Epson Ink is optional for this printer, so if you don't care about buying OEM ink, this printer might be for you. EPSON is the only brand of printer I'll ever buy.

Consumer Choice of Ink is a big deal to Epson
3/5

There's no doubt about it, Epson is awful! You can find their class action lawsuits against them by doing a Google search. It can be said that Epson's recent firmware update poked fun at any Epson product owner who believes that the free market should dictate what products you buy. Now that the latest firmware update makes the model completely reliant on Epson ink, it is a target for counterfeiters. For this printer, I had no more than two reasons to buy it. I tested it and found that it cost less than the competition's model of similar features to print on DVD's. When you own an Epson for the first time, you run out of one ink cartridge - say the cyan cartridge. In spite of the fact you still have plenty of black ink in your all-in-one printer, you can not print in black and white. Run to the nearest store and buy only OEM ink, or LORD Epson will never restore your printer to its former glory.

Ink cartridges from Epson are held hostage
3/5

There are two things that impair my opinion of this printer. The first is Ink usage is at an all-time high. Epson does not allow the user to do anything but watch. The printer stops working when Epson determines that the cartridge is out of ink. It doesn't matter to the end-user what quality of output is emitted. minimize the chance of being stuck when a printer stops working, you need to keep a large set of spare cartridges sitting around (to the tune of $100). With this profit, you will be able to It is highly frustrating to have a feature driven by your preferences. living in our house and our printer will stop working in the middle of the semester A new cartridge will be deemed out of ink even when it is still In order to force the printer to print, you can't do anything. The deadline for getting this work printed before school starts the next day is 10pm when the release goes out.

Unless you wish to save money on paper, you should not update the firmware
4/5

As for this Epson printer, it is just OK. Epson is a terrible company, but as for this printer, it is just fine. It is Epson, its ink, and its moral compass about the use of ink, which poses the biggest issue. Ink cartridges accompanying your printer are sized smaller than standard capacity, which means they will run out very quickly, forcing you to buy new ones. There are a number of problems that arise during this time. It is Epson's passion to upgrade the firmware of its printers so that they will prompt you each time you turn them on or use them. There is no way to prevent this message from popping up if you are connected to wifi, but you can always decline it. In the event you update the firmware, you will have to purchase Epson ink from them. They also sell high capacity cartridges (410xl) for about 75+ dollars. In light of the price I paid for this printer, its a complete waste of money. Having never updated the firmware in my printer, I purchase cheap remanufactured non OEM ink on eBay for about $25 that has continued to work to this day because I do not update it. In some ways, I personally find it rather appalling that by using their firmware updates they are trying to COMBINATE you to purchase Epson is known for its terrible ethics and poor business practices. The printer is fine. It prints, scans, prints CDs, and even prints via WiFi. Aside from Epson and their ink tactics, the printer is nice. It prints, scans, prints CD's, As I can purchase cheap ink online from eBay, I can purchase this printer for a very low cost. The firmware may not be a good fit for everyone because others have experienced problems with it.

A persistent issue with blobbing and smearing from black ink A short-term fix to the problem would be to clean the heads
3/5

I do not recommend it. It is very hit or miss when it comes to print quality. It was purchased two years ago and I began experiencing problems with the black ink after six Black blobs of ink are constantly left on paper, which then smear all over. It's a big issue when the kids try to print papers, homework, or other school-related items. A clean print head or nozzles fixes the problem, but is VERY temporary and wastes a lot of ink (which is not cheap. My initial thought was that maybe it was just a faulty cartridge, so I replaced it, only to find out that it is an issue with all I am extremely disappointed with this printer and do not recommend it. It was not worth the purchase at all. It is only because of its duplexing functionality that I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 star. Exactly what you need! The wireless printing is a good example of this. As well, it is extremely convenient as well as works well.

This printer prints well, but is incredibly hard to maintain! It's okay to use this printer
3/5

While I have used this printer, I have noticed that the ink runs out faster than I have with other printers. You have to do the following steps whenever you want to print anything This is *br1. The silver lever on the front flap is used to flip down the flap. The front panel should now be flipped up. becomes visible once the print tray is exposed). Push the print tray all the way out
* There is no way to close any of the front doors without pulling the print tray all the way in. It is irritating, because I am used to printers which are always ready to print. My kids like to do their schoolwork in their bedrooms and then send the work to the printer through the wireless access point. Every time they send their homework to print, it will not print until they come downstairs to get everything out and pull the print tray out. Having to deal with that is really It is similar to having a high maintenance spouse who requires a lot of attention.

The scanner is excellent at scanning and copying, but it has problems printing in color
3/5

Cartridge inks tend to be brittle, as is common with them Inkjet printers like the Epson 630 use a lot of ink leaving it expensive to replace, a bit like the old marketing ploy of selling a cheap razor to convince the customer to buy replacement blades later on. Occasionally, printing photos can be a frustrating and inconsistent experience, especially if there is a failure with the software. Its scan and copy abilities are the two best aspects of the Epson 630, as well as its relatively low price.
