Questions & Answers

Is it possible for the printer to clog or require cleaning if it sits for an extended period of time? After a month of sitting, my old inkjet printer became unusable. ?

A dye transfer printer is what this machine is. Plastic sheets are used to hold the dye. It is necessary to use special paper. The "printing head" heats a spot on the plastic sheet, which transfers the dye to the receiving paper, resulting in a print. Sheets of three colors, cyan, magenta, and yellow, are included in the dye sheet roll. A fourth clear sheet is used by the printer to cover the print after the dyes have been printed. This is the same method used by drugstore photo printers. Phil is a Kodak engineer who has recently retired.

While on vacation, I'd like to do a "live scrapbook." Consider this or the Fujifilm Instax printer in the car, at a hotel, etc. I'm looking for some suggestions. ?

This is the first time I've used it, and I'm really enjoying it. I was able to connect it to my iPhone and print from both my laptop and my iPhone! That is wonderful. The photography was superb. The price of the 108-pack of paper and ink is fair. This is merely an aside. I also have a Polaroid zip that I love and can easily carry around with me. When someone asks for a photo while you're sitting at the dinner table, it's fantastic. That's not possible with the Canon. I, for one, am not willing to give up.

Will the iPad be able to print?

Yes, all you have to do is uninstall the app. This is an iPad application.

Has anyone tried it on a Mac with Sierra or Xel capitan?

I used Sierra 10.2 to connect the Selphy 1200 to my MacBookPro. 12, using a miniB/USB cable (which, oddly enough, came with my Canon camera). I simply printed my 4"x6" graphic after setting it up in the computer program. There is no need to download drivers because they are already included in the operating system. However, I was unable to connect via WiFi, and if you change WiFi locations, you must reconfigure each time; however, cable is simple, easy, and reliable.

Print quality is good, and it's simple to use, but it's bigger and less portable than the competition

I was about to place my order for the CP910 when I noticed that the CP1200 had debuted at CES this year. Because I'm new to the world of dedicated small photo printers, I can't comment on the CP910 or any previous Selphy model. I recently purchased a Polaroid ZIP camera, but decided to return it after a few test prints in favor of continuing my search. That's when I came across the Canon CP1200 model. I re- To compare to the images from the ZIP, I printed the same images on the Canon, but in a larger format. This is a portion of the photo that is supposed to be "snapped. Finally! This is the printer I've been looking for to use at home. I've been printing my photos at home for a long time. I've spent over $200 on printers and still haven't gotten the same results as I have with this Canon Selphy printer. br>br>I own a DSLR camera that takes incredible pictures; However, I've been so dissatisfied with the print quality of photos I've either printed at home or ordered online that I've been on the lookout for an inkless printer that prints excellent photos. Finally, one exists. br>br> Not only that, but the print quality on this inkless printer is comparable to any other printer I've ever used. And they're even better than the prints I got from Apple, Shutterfly, and Snapfish. Advantages: br>br>
- 4x6 prints of exceptional quality: These are superior to store-bought prints, Shutterfly, Apple, and Walgreens. Paper for photos: This print is made on glossy photo paper: but not excessively gleaming Smudge- It's free, it's waterproof, and it's fantastic. They're completely flat, making them ideal for scrapbooking and photo albums. br>- Colors that are out of this world: The color combination is fantastic. I've never seen photos printed that I was happy with because the colors on my retina Mac screen were accurate: until I put this printer to usebr>- QUICK AND EASY TO USE: I had this printer connected to my home network and able to print wirelessly in less than 5 minutes. From both my computer and my phone, I can print borderless photos wirelessly. Amazing!
- There has been no calibration: There are no test pages, print alignment, or cleaning cycles for the nozzles. Nothing!
- Quality of the print: Have I mentioned how fantastic these photos look right after they've been printed?
- One with paper ink: When you buy paper for this printer, it comes with the "ink" that goes with it. It's the precise amount of ink you'll need for the job. No more; no less. It's a fantastic system that really works. It makes you wonder why this hasn't been thought of before. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br> These are all minor issues. - The cost of each print is: It costs around $0. 10 to print 108 sheets (with ink). 33 per sheet This is more expensive than a standard photo print or an online print, but it is well worth the investment. These prints are far superior to those available on the internet or in stores.
- Paper tray with an awkward shape: The tray protrudes from the cover, which is a little strange at first but not a problem once you figure it out.
- Battery that is too expensive: I'm unconcerned about this because I don't need a battery. Most likely, neither will you.
- This printer's maximum print size is 4x6. br>Edit 2/5/2016 - Occasionally, a speck of dust will become lodged in the images. It's extremely uncommon and barely noticeable, but it does happen. br>br>It only took one print for me to realize how good this printer is.
