Canon PIXMA Color Printer MG5520 (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

As far as ink is concerned, Canon takes advantage of its customers. It is extremely surprising to experience your own printer's capabilities in practice. You probably already knew this, but it still surprises me. It's a great tool. Ink is used when there is a page. A lot of ink is purchased by me. I always do. What's the reason? Any one of the five cartridges running low will cause this printer to cease to function. Are you looking for a black and white document to print? Can you tell me how much cyan is left in the cartridge? Sadly, you cannot do anything about it. In spite of the fact your black and white document doesn't even think cyan is needed, even if you set print properties to greyscale, you can't print your document if it does not have enough cyan. However, there is more! The black ink cartridges come in twos. Oh, and guess what else? You will not be able to print black and white documents if one is low and the other is full. Yes, I agree! The truth is out there. Though I have a full large cartridge of black ink that I just bought from the Canon Thievery Corporation, I cannot print a document in black and white because the other cartridge in the set of two is empty. I DO NOT recommend buying Canon products. There is no other way to put it.

I stopped so I didn't know what to do next. Several weeks ago, I submitted a five-star review and gave it a thumbs up. That was a bit too soon for me. The thing I've had for 17 months, or three and a half years. Up until a week ago, you worked fine. But when I tried to print a one-page document you gave me an error code The document is two pages long As a result, the device will not be able to function (it will not print, scan, or copy), and will not return to the home screen as well. Only that error code is displayed in addition to a message advising to unplug/turn off the unit, consult the service manual, or contact the service center (no additional information is provided by the service manual). A call to Canon customer support did not resolve the issue. I was offered a connection with an authorized service provider, but the rep pointed out that this would likely be beyond the scope of the budget. As an alternative, I was directed to the sales department in hopes of purchasing a new printer for a discounted price. That was never satisfactory customer service. I didn't buy this device because I wanted it to break down after a short period of time and then I could buy another. Approximately 10 years have passed since I last owned a HP. Third-party sources on the internet said I should clean the print head thoroughly. I did so but the error code continued to appear. Connecting to the computer via USB cable for driver or firmware support and resetting the computer failed to fix the problem No action is taken and the error code continues to display. It is my intention to contact a local printer repair facility to find out what options are available and at what cost. Unfortunately, I do not expect good news, but if I am proven to be wrong I will update this review. I was extremely dissatisfied, both with the product and the lack of customer service offered by Canon, after the experience I had. Because I wouldn't buy a Canon printer again and won't recommend it to anyone, I won't buy one again ever.

Despite the fact that I didn't want to give it any stars, I had to click the stars to submit my review. To set up the printer to communicate properly with my computer has been an endless frustration. A constant and consistent problem prevented the connection from working. My laptop needed to be manually linked to the printer after making about 20 print jobs. I had to purchase the USB cable so that I could connect it. This was one of the things I tried and then gave up on. My machine decided not to work when I recently plugged it back in again to attempt it again. I was informed that I need to contact the manufacturer because it does not Due to the time and effort required to get this sorted out in a reasonable amount of time, I now have a useless piece of junk and will have to buy a new printer.
