Questions & Answers
You did a great job. The printer, scanner, and fax machine have the ability to print in both mixed mode as well as single mode, which is one of the reasons we chose it. A single or double sided image can be scanned from the scanner or glass. A hearty recommendation for this device would be in order.
That is not the case with this model. The MB471W model is a wireless model, and it costs a few hundred dollars Wi-Fi is indicated by the letter "W".
No, I don't think so, since the machine does not accommodate legal size blank paper
Despite the fact that the drum is full yield, the printer comes with a starter cartridge. Online sources such as Amazon and other online sources should make it easy for customers to find supplies. Besides being wireless, this MFP is also USB and Network capable and can be used with iPads. Install the ePrint App for your device to enable it to work with your printer. You're lucky to get 20 prints or copies from The following is the 6/14/15 update While these machines have been excellent for printing and scanning, they have turned out to be terrible when it comes to copying. Due to my inability to figure out how to make the copy output darker, I had to replace two of them. In most cases, this is even a selection in the control panel, but the Oki doesn't seem to have it. I've tried both the HTTP interface and the control panel without success. If I could put the stars down to 2, it would be because the scanning and the keyboard were the most useful bits. BEWARE OF.
This isn't the machine for you if you want a touch screen interface, one that talks to you in a sensual accent, or one that makes cute noises. When it comes to a machine that has the lowest cost per page (CPP) in 2012, is fast, and produces high quality prints - take a look at the Lexmark Z9251s This is what you need to know. In addition to that, it is a networked multifunction device. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that the instructions were inadequate. As you can imagine, you will have to give up a few things at the price - like the lack of an owners guide. You will have to go to the company's website to find the users manual. It is easy to set up once it is set up. Having this machine in our company is extremely pleasing to us.
On the basis of previous experiences with all of those brands, I chose the Oki Data over HP, Canon, Brother and Epson. Oki Data MB471 is regarded as an excellent small office model and the reliability is excellent. I have had trouble with other programs, and all of them have been unreliable with various issues.
The only thing I'm not completely satisfied with is the way the OKI Data was installed. wasn't easy, since I had to install all the software and other components manually, but fortunately that's something I'm familiar with. For others, they would have to call in support or have someone come in to assist them. However, it has been a bit difficult to set up some of the functions. Besides that, so far I have loved I was able to get the OKI Data at a great price with free shipping and it arrived several days earlier than the original delivery deadline. My favorite thing about Amazon is that it never fails to deliver. The prices and service they provide are consistently lower than I encounter elsewhere.
The paper jam has not been cleared and I cannot get it out. A call has been made to Okidata for assistance. I really appreciate the help they provided and how quickly they responded to my request. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to help the customer. A tech was quickly dispatched to the site to assist. The monochrome printer would be highly recommended to all those who need one. The print process happens quickly and the energy saved is great. Customer service that is second to none.
The scanning is pretty quick, and it works well. The best value for what I need seemed to be found after doing some research. There is a possibility I will buy a second desk for my office soon.
Good things are done well with this product. Documents are fed into the scanner until it jams. If it's not working (unplug and plug it back in), it needs to be reset.
Our drum already needs to be replaced after 5k copies with us paying a good portion of the costs. When we purchased it, we hadn't expected it to be as we understood.
As far as the printer itself goes, it works fine, except for the fact that it was advertised as a wireless printer, but it is not. You probably think I'm dumb for bothering to set up the wifi, since I know some of you are reading this. Please confirm that I am not mistaken. I've used every setup guide I could find, and none of them shed any light on why the "WIRELESS SETUP" option is not present on the network setup page. It won't help you if you want to buy the wireless version of this printer from a different listing, as this one will not match your needs.
