Here are some suggestions for anyone having difficulties with their ink. In my experience, you will think you need a new ink cartridge if you print a lot less the ink will APPEAR to dry up or run out if you print quite frequently. You should not do that if the HP software shows that there is still ink left. Remove the cartridge, put some filtered water in a glass and warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Dip a lint-free cloth in the water to remove the sediment Take out the free cloth and put it in there to clean the bottom part of the cartridge gently. It will be obvious when you are done when you wipe off the contacts and see a little bit of ink coming Once the water has been cleaned up, use a dry part of the cloth to remove any remaining water. (Yes, this pretty much ruins the cloth, but they are super cheap, and you can keep it near the printer in case this )
Removing 1 star from the review because the ink needs to be manually cleaned (the automatic cleaning doesn't work).
There is a scam involving HP. Despite my best efforts, I cannot stand HP printers. As much as this review applies to any printer that uses this cartridge, there are some general observations. Ink that is colored is deliberately used in black printing in order to use it up so that you have to purchase more later on. I won a whopping $0 in the case and was awarded the settlement. The attorneys received an additional $79 after the attorney's share was taken. I love it. HP seems to have gotten away with it, in my opinion. Since I am not printing very much, I will possibly last me a year with this ink. Printing off my tax forms once a year, along with insurance cards and other infrequent forms helps simplify my life. Ink cartridges for black and color are needed every year at the times when I most need them, even though I don't print in.
It is time to replace 4 of them within 2 weeks, and I don't print that much anyway. That's not even close to true. I was really curious about this. The email I have sent to Amazon several times has not been answered.
In April, we bought this cartridge and it has been nothing but disappointing. Having run out of ink very quickly, it has suddenly become "incompatible" with the HP printer once it is refilled. I find it unbelievable that an official HP print cartridge is no longer compatible with an HP printer. Are you aware that this is the second black cartridge we've gone through with the exact same problem? In reality, these are simply programmed to stop working after a while in order to force you to keep buying them. Instead of spending money on a laser printer, think about getting one instead I did. In my opinion, this product is a total waste of money.
My HP C4795 printer has only started giving me problems in 2021, even though I've used it for at least 10 years. Not for a single reason related to the printer either! This is the first reason for retiring Adobe Flash. It seems that the black ink cartridge, HP 60 (standard and XL) does not align properly this time around. Black text appears to have a shadow/ghost effect. It worked flawlessly on the HP XL I got at Staples, and now on the HP 60 acquired from Amazon, and I am convinced it's not just an isolated lucky event. It appears I am not the only one, since it seems other people have the same problem. There are just too many mistakes in the print quality. This is a bad thing. It was my intention to say so. Now, I'm on a quest to obtain an expired HP 60 cartridge in an effort to use that instead. Next, I'll try to obtain the empty HP 60 cartridge from an internet stranger. In a few weeks, we will find out what those results are. For now, stay away from anything HP is putting out of their factories right now if you need an HP 60 (XL). HP should be ashamed of itself and be ashamed of this waste of money (but then again, from what I have read, this sort of thing happens to HP all the time). That's the internet for you. But you know, we have the internet here for you.
I can't recommend it. 4/4/19 is the date I purchased this ink. It runs out of ink three months to the day after it was printed. According to the manufacturer, up to 200 pages can be printed. My ink-saving strategy is to save on ink by generally using draft mode instead of print mode. The only way I would have been able to print 200 pages by now would have been to print 2 pages per day for the last three months. This is the fastest I ever ran out of ink with an HP cartridge. A very disappointing experience.
The 2 ink cartridges that came in this box were black HP ink. In the first case, everything was fine and the cartridge worked properly. From when I ordered them in January until now, May 7th, it has taken more than a year. There was a problem with the second cartridge. It didn't even print I didn't open the package until shortly before installing it in my printer, so I don't know how it got that way, but it doesn't seem to have enough ink. It's too late for me to return it and get a refund at this point. This is incredibly dissatisfying for me!.
It meets my needs perfectly. People often complain about this cartridge running out of ink quickly and recommend the XL cartridge in their reviews. While the XL does have more ink and last for longer, it costs nearly twice as much as this one does. In my experience, this works pretty well, I use it mostly to print shipping labels and I get 400 to 500 labels per month It will last until it is replaced 500 times before it will need to be replaced. Purchasing a laser printer would be an investment if I was printing so much that cartridges were running out too fast. "Normal" (a setting between fast draft and best quality) is what I print on.
