Questions & Answers
Hello, all thermal laminators use heated rollers to melt the laminating adhesive as well as move the laminating pouch through the machine; a "two roller system" means the laminator has two heated rollers. Two heated rollers and two nonheated rollers make up a "4 roller system," which improves the finishing quality (by pushing out more air within the pouch). Most small offices, classrooms, and homes can benefit from a "two roller system." I hope this information is useful.
Yes! There are separate settings for 3 ml and 5 ml. The 5 ml setting will laminate up to 7 ml of material:
A pouch laminator is what this machine is. Lamination machines come in a variety of shapes and sizes. However, the ultimate goal is to laminate a clear, usually plastic, film to a paper sheet on both sides. So this machine makes use of pouch plastic film, which is double-sided and has three open sides and one side that is welded together to form a pouch. I've seen two sides welded before, but it's not common. Some laminators, on the other hand, use ROLLS of plastic film, in which two rolls of film are fed through the laminater at the same time as a sheet of paper to be laminated, and the end result is the same, but you must cut it off the roll once it has gone through. Pouch sizes range from small to large. From small sizes such as business cards to 11 x 15 inches and even larger in some cases. Part of the issue with choosing a large size for a low-cost laminator like this is that the heat does not last long enough to support such a long run. Cloudy laminations result from a laminator that is too cool, as the plastic adhesive isn't hot enough to bond with the paper, and wavy laminations result from a laminator that is too hot. I have two laminators that allow me to adjust the heat, but they are more expensive; they also require carriers, which some laminators can handle, but you'll need hotter temperatures to get through the carrier folder material. When you buy laminate pouches, they often come with a carrier folder. If my preferred laminator heats up hot enough to use the folder, I use the folder. It almost always avoids jams and the loss of smaller laminations that may have been cut down or used in smaller lamination pouches or pockets. If you're using a laminator to foil, you'll probably need to make your own folder out of parchment paper or light cardstock. The protective folder stiffens the laminate process so it does not get caught and rolled up into the rollers, causing a jam. Not all Jam Releases work, which means you'll have to disassemble your laminator, and not all laminates are designed to be opened. If you find a good one, they can be very useful and lead to some creative as well as utilitarian purposes.
These pouches, on the other hand, are used to laminate work stations for my kindergarten students. They use a vis-a-vis marker to write on the pieces. After you've finished using the vis markers, wash them and dry them with paper towels. I would think that something would survive a cycle in the washing machine because these pouches are so thick - but I've never had a problem with water getting inside. a lot more than regular laminating film Thank you for your interest.

I couldn't get rid of a sheet that had gotten stuck. So I called customer service and explained the situation; they informed me that the device was no longer covered by warranty because I had opened it. This is complete nonsense in my opinion.
In August, I purchased this laminator for light office use, and by December, it had stopped heating up. I went out of my way to find someone to take my place. Because I purchased the Protection Plan, they cancelled my request for a replacement. I bought a Computer/Laptop, according to the instructions I found online. To summarize, I received a defective product, paid extra for a useless Protection Plan, and have no way of getting in touch with a live person to resolve the issue. I advise you NOT to purchase this item.
This is the second one I've done in less than a year. The first one I bought stopped feeding the paper/pouches through, so I should have learned my lesson the first time. I'm just using regular thin copy paper for this second one, and it eats the pouches but they don't come out the other side and get jammed in the machine. The machine's back has melted completely. Spend less and save more. It only lasted a few months before it became unusable.
I've only been using it for a day, but I'm already in love with it! What a score! It heats up quickly, has excellent adhesion, and produces no bubbles. I will say, however, that it has a distinct odor when it's on, even before you use it. I'm hoping that's normal, but other than that, it's a great price for a great product, and I highly recommend it!.
This laminator is shown in the product description, but you will receive a cheaper model. The model that was sent did not come with a tray or the correct buttons. I'm disappointed because I was planning on replacing my old laminator, which looked exactly like the one in the photo. It was fantastic. I've tried others with different trays or no trays, and they're not as good. I'm getting the impression that this is a bait and switch!.
Many of the users' photos on Amazon show a TL901C, despite the fact that the picture in the main product display on Amazon shows a TL901X. A Consumer Product Safety Commission recall has been issued for the TL901C. It melts, to put it succinctly. br>Many of the photos posted by reviewers show a different model than the TL901X. This model is dark gray in color and lacks the "Scotch TL901" label seen in one of the photos, as well as any buttons or LEDs on the right side and no feed tray. br>Amazon has chosen to mash up product reviews and lump them all together, which is a huge disservice to its customers. br>br>Turning to the product, the Scotch Four Step instructions intersperse photos of the TL901X and various Scotch laminators in the "From the manufacturer" section. Although the user guide appears to be correct, the User Manual is not! A completely different model can be seen in the line drawing! This week (December 7-10) I received the User Manual that came with the TL901X I purchased and received. The year 2020 (November 11th) is very different. Half of the manual is in French, and there is no instruction on how to use the "Release" switch on the upper right side. br>br>Overall, I am not happy with this purchase.
It still works, but I'm not impressed with it and would not recommend it. This laminator was purchased by me. .
