The 5ml version is more viscous. For 8 1/2x11, I use both of them. Both are flat, but only 5 will bend if you force it. For sheets, 3ml is flat, but it can be bent. I hope this information is useful. I use mine in the classroom and they're fine, but if I'm worried about kids bending them, I'll use 5ml.
I've increased the laminate's thickness by a factor of two. That is, laminate it once and then place it in a second laminate sheet. Take it to the laminator and laminate it. It is advantageous that everything is kept together.
No, I don't believe so. Make sure the pouches are the right size and thickness. Also, double-check that your machine can use the same specs.
They're glossier than matte, in my opinion. However, after they've been laminated, they're just clear.

I laminate these Scotch laminating sheets using a Scotch brand laminator. Everything is in order. Both the 3 mil and 5 mil thicknesses have been used by me. While there may not appear to be much of a difference in thickness between the two, there is! The 5 mil thickness provides a much more durable result, as well as a much stiffer feel than the 3 mil. I like having both thicknesses on hand so I can choose the best one for the job. br>Because the 5 mil laminating sheets are thicker, I had to run them through the laminater TWICE to get the best results. This is something that the package instructions recommend!.
They're crystal clear when you're done with them. Simple to work with. Here's some advice: You'll get a nice stiff laminated piece if you print on cardstock paper and use these pouches. These are the materials that we use for our training. When using cardstock, you can use pouches that aren't as thick (5ml), which will save you money over the 7ml and ensure that your laminated item isn't flimsy.
I needed some instructions laminated, so I went to a local office supply store. After it was laminated, I realized there were a slew of other items that needed to be safeguarded. br>br>I assumed that the office supply store's quality would be superior to that of a personal machine, but the store's owner explained that their machine had once broken, and they simply grabbed one off the shelf and used it instead. A single sheet of laminated paper cost $3 in the store. br>br>We went ahead and bought a laminator, which came with sheets that were thin, flimsy, and so shiny that the reflection made it difficult to read. br>br>I ordered these because the office supply store said they used 5 mm sheets, and they're just as good! It's significantly less expensive than having it done at a store. The sheets are thick, the corners are rounded, and it appears to be of much higher quality than the other options we looked at.
The finish isn't quite as bendy. I recommend cutting with some space around your paper rather than cutting close to the edge, as the laminate will come apart. And - Because it's so heavy, it's a pain to cut. But it's the weight that makes it so long-lasting! This product comes highly recommended from me!.
I'm a piano teacher, so I laminate sheet music all the time to make it last longer. I had a few boxes of this laminate left over from a few years ago, and I recently used it to laminate some more music. As I had expected from this product over the years, the end result was a beautiful, crystal clear image. When I ran out of these older boxes from a few years ago, I went to Scotch and bought new laminates that were supposed to be the same as the old ones. They weren't in the least bit interested in doing so. They had a yellowish color when I used them to laminate music, and the result was sheet music that wasn't as clear as it could have been. When I compared the two laminate results, I noticed a significant difference. I'm returning the box I didn't open because I'm dissatisfied with this product and will not purchase these laminates again.
I really like these pouches for laminating. Once laminated, they are very nice and sturdy, as well as clear. Please remember to put the pouch in the machine from the closed side or the ends will fold over. It's also important to consider the quality of your machine! A Scotch TL1302 thermal laminator is what I use. I bought it for $25 at Walmart and it's a 13" laminator.
I use them to laminate game cards for use in the classroom because I'm a teacher. The 5 mil sheets appeal to me because they provide a thicker layer of protection for the pieces, making them more durable. I can easily laminate sheets of cards and cut them apart after they've been laminated. I rarely have problems with the sheets adhering to the laminating material. If this happens, I simply reseal the piece by running it through the laminator again. I can easily laminate items that are printed on both paper and cardstock. These are the laminating pouches I use the most.
When used with a Scotch (3M company) thermal laminator, the Scotch Thermal laminating pouches do an excellent job of encapsulating photos and documents in order to preserve and protect them. The thicker 5 mil pouches have a stiffer encapsulation than the thinner 3 mil pouches. The 3 mil pouches, on the other hand, are suitable for the vast majority of applications. I noticed that the thicker 5 mil product's package specifies its thickness as 5 mil, but the thinner 3 mil product's package does not. One disadvantage of these laminating pouches is that the final product is never completely flat, but always has a slight wavy appearance. These laminations may not be flat enough for something like a scrapbook or photo album with multiple pages next to each other. I'm a big fan of the non- For applications requiring flatness, use thermal laminating sheets with a room temperature adhesive on the inside. If you're going to use thumbtacks or magnets to hold the sheet down, or if a small amount of curl is acceptable, the thermal laminating pouches are fine.
