Buying a quality laminator has been on my list for many My only concern was that I wanted the cold lamination feature, but I was unable to purchase that with the cheaper thermal laminators available. The fact that you can take advantage of both systems with this machine is great. Having old newspaper clippings of obituaries and wedding pictures is something I'd want to preserve only using the cold lamination feature. It never occurred to me to use a simple hot thermal laminator for my old B/W photos because I was always afraid of damaging them. I immediately went ahead and tried out the cold lamination function when this machine arrived. In order to use them at that point, I purchased separate self adhesive cold laminating pouches. Instructions were provided in the manual (see photo). After waiting for the green light to turn on, I immediately started inserting I am very pleased with the outcome. The program allowed me to perform what I could have done by hand, if I had used a ruler or a credit card, but it was much more professional and precise. With the machine roller, I can apply the pouch with an even 360 degree pressure all the way around, as opposed to me doing it by hand. There is no risk of getting bubbles or misaligning the pouch, which would let me ruin a priceless prize. This system roller is essential to a successful cold lamination process. The system is easy to set up in only 5 minutes and can be used in less than 5 minutes. I like that it is compact enough to fit in my smaller home office because its size is 9 inches. When I had finished using it, I did not want to have to put it in a drawer every time. Then I thought of another project I had on the to-do list that very next day, forcing me to remove it. In addition to being white from the front, the laminating machine complements the newly remodeled office decor well as well (see photo). In comparison with other laminaters out there, the laminator came with 30 samples of laminating pouches as opposed to just 20 as the other guys did. As soon as it arrived the next day, I excitedly opened the box. So that my sewing patterns would last longer, I bought this to laminate them. This piece of equipment did a great job of cutting the patterns and included a paper cutter to make trimming them effortless. If I could, I would suggest including a diagram of how to take the lamination pouches apart. I nearly tore it open out of an emblem at the bottom of the pouch made of transparent plastic. This is where I was able to open the document and insert my data. I think that the heat during transit caused them to adhere to each other. Perhaps they were fairly well stuck together and were extremely difficult to separate. I am happy with the product, aside from that.
