While I prefer the HP's thicker cover and some may object to the fact that you can't add or remove pages like the Happy Planner, I love that Bloom has all of the extra features of the HP (student information, gradebook pages, password sheet, field trip information, call home log, and a folder) but is less bulky, just as pretty, and has the vertical layout I prefer as well as more space for each day! br>Newsflash - I bought a new one for the upcoming school year!.
This "Joy" Bloom Planner is designed for public school teachers, so it runs from August to July, and there are some pages in the beginning that a homeschool family will likely not need. It took some time (and markers, stickers, and a little craftiness), as well as a lot of rewriting titles and lines, but I was able to make the following pages work: 1) Change the "Subscription Information" page to "Year Information. " br>2) Change the "Student Info" pages to Curriculum Information, Book List, and Other Resources List. br>3) Change the "Communication Log" to Important Contacts. br>4) Only three field trips can be listed on the Field Trip Information page. I intend to keep track of information for our top three extracurricular activities on this page. br>5) Book of Grades: Each section of the grade book is two pages long, with a total of 31 rows and 34 columns. I'm going to use it for quarterly grades, and I'm going to get rid of any extra pages. br>6) Pages with Important Dates and Birthdays: This is where I'll keep track of our field trips as well as other annual highlights. br>br>Other points I'd like to mention: br>*Because I chose the UNDATED planner, this planner does not include a yearly calendar overview. br>br>*Attendance tracking is not available. I like to color in the date on the monthly calendars at the start of each month, total at the end of each month, and quickly add those totals for a quarterly total. br>br>*At the end of each month, there are two pages dedicated to "Month in Review," followed by a page dedicated to "Planning for. " I like to add a Supplies Needed list to the next month's planner to jot down focus', goals, and space. br>br>*The weekly/daily planner part lists the days of the week along the top (Mon-Sat). Fri), as well as side subjects (up to seven). They're large enough to accommodate multiple children if necessary. Because each subject has six lines next to it, you could theoretically fit six students on the page, but you'd have to write smaller. br>br>*At the back of the planner is a "Year in Review" page with six boxes to fill in (most memorable moments, small and large victories, goals achieved, new skills/techniques learned, mistakes learned from, and biggest takeaways from the year). ) I would have preferred it to be spread out over several pages so that more information could be included. br>br>*The back cover has a pocket for loose papers, and the frosted jacket is on the back and front for added protection, which is great considering how much this thing will be tossed around for a year. br>br>*The pages are lighter than the previous planner I had, but I've used felt-tipped pens, gel pens, Crayola scented markers, and various colored highlighters, and none of them have bled through the pages. Sharpies and other permanent markers will bleed through the paper on one side. It will be felt on the other side of the paper if you press too hard with pens or pencils when writing. *Takeaway: br>br> This book is probably not for you if you're a homeschooling parent who doesn't want to spend time converting pages. It wasn't a deal breaker for me because I am crafty and enjoy doing things like that.
This planner works just fine for high school teachers looking for a cheaper alternative to an expensive Erin Condren planner. It may not have all of the same stickers, extra pages, etc. , but I didn't use all of that even when I had my Erin Condren, so it was a perfect replacement for half the price. I'm so happy with how it looks and functions! A fantastic purchase!.
I am a teacher, so I don't make a lot of money, but I spent $30 on this planner in the hopes of becoming more organized. I was all excited when it arrived today, but when I opened it, I discovered it was a used planner. Really! So now I have to schedule time out of my day to return it and wait for a replacement to arrive next week. NICE! The day before the students arrived, it was exactly what I needed.
I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to express my gratitude for this purchase. It can be difficult to find exactly what you're looking for in a planner book without all the "extras" you never use but have to pay for, or it may not have enough of what you need but you make do because the price is right. Neither of those scenarios applies in this case. br>This planner is well-made, attractively designed, has excellent paper quality, and is a good size; it includes all of the essentials as well as a few useful extras. The price was ideal for the quality of the product. This purchase has made me very happy! Bloom, I appreciate you.
I'm astounded by the wiring's tenacity. There are no openings in the wire, unlike some, and it can be folded all the way around for easy maneuverability! Perfection in every way!.
When I spend more than $30 on a planner, I expect it to be well-bound. Nothing irritates me more than receiving my planner and discovering that the spiral binding is bent and cannot be straightened. I'm going to have trouble flipping pages for the rest of the year. Worse, it wasn't even my mailman's fault; our mailbox is on our property, and he delivered it to me by hand, with no obligation to place it in the box. The binding is of very poor quality.
I'm a school counselor, and while there isn't as much geared toward us as there is for teachers, this planner is versatile enough that I'll be able to use it for everything next year. I'm even thinking about using the grade-keeping pages to keep track of when I meet with my students (in code, of course!). ) I appreciate the monthly goal and reflection pages, as well as the monthly and daily calendars with numerous lines. I've already set it up for next year, and I'm looking forward to using it once the summer vacation is over.
