This would be better suited to a college level audience than an elementary classroom
3/5

As soon as I opened the package, I was amazed at the beautiful design of the Grade and Plan Book by Elan Publishing. The teal blue is a pretty shade of blue with shiny gold polka dots. My first hardcover lesson plan was quite different, as it was made with a different material. I've used other books in the past (not by Elan) that have either fallen apart, tore, or stretched. In order to prevent the spiral binding from coming unbound, the ends of the book are looped. In contrast to other plan books I've used in the past, the cover of this book feels sturdy. I opened it up and began flipping through it. In addition, there is a bookmark you can use to prevent losing your place in the spiral. Information about the classroom and students can be written on the relevant pages. There are large boxes in the planning section, and I was pleased to see them. Writing detailed plans is easy with this software. arranged across the top of the page, so when the book is turned back, you can see one day at a time. My first reaction was that I liked the book so far! In the next section I decided to look at my grades. As soon as I opened my mouth, my What the heck? As small as the boxes are (3/16"), it is impossible to see how someone with average-sized writing could write a single digit on them! That small is too small for me to write, let alone read what I wrote with a magnifying glass. Plus I can't follow the progress of one student when the lines (50 students on a page) are so small. Because of this, I cannot use this particular combination of lesson and grade books. For teachers who only need to keep tabs on credit and no credit work, this is the book However, if you are a teacher who needs to keep track of points for each assignment, you might want to reconsider your.

A combination planner/record book with a well-designed layout
4/5

Because I wanted an item I could use for my upcoming school year, which starts in August for me, I purchased it from Based on the 10 week grading sections, I have been able to map out the 5 classes I am scheduled to teach for each of the 4 quarters in the subject area. On the first two pages of the planner/record book are the classroom and emergency procedures, which have great sections with quick information at a glance. Additionally, the site has a page that lists teachers' daily schedules - The scheduling system I am using is block scheduling, and I have no idea how I will utilize this area However, this would be a great resource for elementary school teachers. Even though I am very pleased about my purchase, I did not give this book 5 stars because I did not like the schedule of school events, which is laid out School in my area runs from mid-August through June, which is the same as most others in our state and city. If a change is made for future publications, the designers might take it into consideration. However, the cover is very sturdy and the plastic spiral binding appears to be very It looks like it's going to be a great.

The set up is stylish and ideal for teachers of elementary levels
4/5

Last year I bought it in a different print, since the one I wanted was sold out. It is one of the few planners that does not have a calendar that takes up half of the book and the pages allow for up and down navigation rather than going across for the week. Because I teach 2nd grade, and I wanted it set up in rows, I did not need anything that had preset subjects. My problem is that most planners have the subjects displayed in columns and the days of the week displayed in rows, and that just didn't work for me. It is nice that this does not include any dates so we do not waste space if we take While I personally do not use the gradebook section of my account, I can see how it would be useful for other teachers. It is nice to have the bookmark that comes with it, it is a good way to keep track of the week. While I would like the book to be a little less expensive, it is hardcover and stylish, so I can't really complain.

Buying this is a horrible idea! Do not buy! A longtime ELAN enthusiast warns, "This model appears to be beat up right from the start! As a result, pages stick out beyond the edges of the covers because they are unevenly cut and punched
3/5

In other words, that means paper There are cuts on the pages and grime on the covers. The corners of the pages are already crushed. In fact, the hard covers are made of cheap pressed-paper It is paper cardboard, and at the corners you can see that the edges are already splitting. Despite their denting and rusting, they appear to be out of whack with each other from

I am VERY disappointed because this is exactly what needs to be done with just a little quality control. It is clear that these c***s are disgusting! I advise you not to buy.

This is a book that includes everything a teacher needs
5/5

There is nothing fancy about this book, it is just a nice basic book that I think all of my classes will benefit from. Since I like to look inside lesson plan books before buying them, I included a few A weekly lesson plan spread of two pages is included for 45 weeks of lessons and a grade book spread of 34 pages (10 weeks) with space for 50 students. In the front of the book there is an overview calendar for the entire year. The pros are Please note In one book you have the lesson plan and the grade book- It has a thick cover that seems sturdy*- The pages line up on the lesson plan so you don't lose anything

Cons It's like this No page numbers, so you have to check that you don't skip a page when you type in dates in the undated version-- A thin paper is used for the inside of the pages. It only has room for 50 students but is very small, thus limiting its use. - Calendars are not available on a monthly basis.

It is better to go back to the previous version
3/5

A previous version of this planner had been provided to me for 2018-2019 School this year was great, and I am looking forward to next year. It is my responsibility to When I ordered it, I thought it would be the same except for the 2019-2020 A 2020 version will be available soon. There were changes made to it, unfortunately. There is yellow paper instead of white, the dates have blank spaces for you to fill in, and there are several pages of student grades at Honestly, in this era of technology, most of us can easily print our school rosters from the computer and enter our grades on the computer. In other words, because I don't plan on using those pages at the end, aside from scratch paper, I feel they are unnecessary. Especially when new students are added, I can just reprint my roster instead of writing their names on paper each time. The following is from the perspective of a middle school teacher, so I can see whether it would be helpful to an elementary teacher as well. It is very sturdy, which is one of the pros. This year's planner is in good shape, and I appreciate the hardcover design. While I'd like to give it a try, I preferred the previous version.

This cute teacher planner is great
3/5

Although I liked the look of this planner, I found it not to be very functional. This planner is oriented asymmetrically, so days of the week are horizontal and class periods are vertical, which is the opposite of how I prefer it. The planning boxes should also be wider so that it is easier to write in. The number of pages for grading is great, but I found that the spaces to write names and assignments were very small. This is not the type of book you would like if you are used to the old, imitation leather bound plan book.
