I'd say 15 pages, plus or minus a few. They'll hold more, but not with the same level of security.
A 30-pound person can be held in one hand. There are no clips or staples on the 50-page paper. I've recently added a 60-minute slot to my schedule. It holds a page magazine of a smaller size inside, but I believe that's it.
I believe that it is insufficient. Only if you're going to use them for smaller paper; if you place the paper as close to the right side of the jacket as possible, the right edge of the paper will not be covered. On the left side of the jacket, there will be only a half-inch of space left.
Jackets from the Smead Project (85751) are double-sealed on both sides.

I'm a big fan of these file jackets. This type of file folder/jacket was first introduced to me at my place of employment. These jackets serve a dual purpose for me. I work for a large auto assembly company and am frequently required to transport documents for signatures. These keep documents in place better than regular manila folders, and they're easier to get in and out of than a flap folder. The next thing I'm going to do is use the different colored folders to separate tasks. This is for documents that I use frequently and don't want to have to dig through a file drawer to find. Plus, I can toss these in my laptop bag and they protect the documents well without adding too much bulk. I was so taken with these folders that I purchased several packs for a personal project I was working on. These were extremely useful in terms of keeping track of things.
The side flap locks in the contents, which is a clever design. I just used these to replace the contents of several manilla folders that you used to put in Pendaflex folders. They're generously cut and slightly larger than standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper size. I ordered one set to try out, and I've already placed an order for two more. Mine is used for research projects, news items that I want to save for a while, and other things. Some of the material will be moved to my permanent library of binders in the future, but for now, I'm using it as a day-to-day resource. This is an excellent way to save and store items of interest on a day-to-day basis. One of the reviewers inquired if you could three-step the process. You could use a hole punch, but the best method is to align the bottom of the folder with the bottom of the sheets in a binder and leave the top of the folder sticking out. They're designed to be used at a desk, in a briefcase, or on the go. I like how secure the lock is, and I can't imagine losing anything in these if you were to travel with them.
They also aid in the identification of specific documents that must be consulted. It was a clever idea to have a small tab to hold the page(s) in. Anything more would have been a tad inconvenient. The variety of colors makes it easier to organize and code your documents. I'll buy these again without a doubt.
I really like the colors, but if you really need to see inside the jacket, go for the clear option. They're all nice, and they're all reasonably priced, but for my project, which involved storing buyer information for essential oils, I think clear would have been preferable. Colors are fun for me, but when it comes to functionality, clear is the way to go.
Simple design that works well as a more durable/rugged alternative to manilla or other paper/cardboard folders. In a backpack, it protects papers well and can withstand months of lugging around with other stuff.
Without the use of bulky binders or folders, this is a great way to stay organized. I travel frequently and keep track of my days in these folders. These were once available at my neighborhood brick and mortar store. Office supply store with a brick and mortar location These are significantly less expensive. In addition, the jacket has a nice flap that keeps it closed. This product is available in a number of different variations on Amazon. Because these are the multi-functional products, you'll want to buy this one over the other ones. At a reasonable price, a colorful pack.
I enjoy using these paper protectors and plan to do so in the future. They are straightforward, which allows me to stay on top of things. They last a long time, and I would highly recommend them.
I don't have a filing cabinet because I don't have enough paper, but these are great for keeping projects organized.
