I liked it so much that I bought a third. For the build quality of their rack gear, ART deserves a lot of credit. Throughout the years, I've had a few pieces made by this company, and they've always been solid, sturdy, and beautifully finished P48 has a very nice metal chassis at a low price point.
They do a great job with the P48. One has been in my rack now for several years and it has been reliable. When I upgraded my audio interface and added a few pieces of outboard gear, I did not hesitate to add another P48 to my rack in order to accommodate the additional inputs and outputs I now have. My only problem is that it doesn't have an unbreakable cable. It is advised that you do not use normal/through mode unless all four jacks are connected to one channel and that normal/half-duplex mode is not utilized Similarly, the back of the unit does not have any access to the usual switch. While I don't change the normalization settings very often, it sure is a pain to have to crawl behind the rack to make a change. All in all, this is an excellent patchbay for the money.
There are a few inserts that do not snap well into place. I'm not sure if it's male plugs or female sockets that cause the problem. Although the connections appear to be solid, they are not totally seamless. On the back panel, each pair has a switch that can be pushed to select Normal or Half-light A normal day. Having to be very careful not to push the button in by accident is very important, or else you can really damage the My dislike for the series is strong. Additionally, they are difficult to see in a densely populated area. It would be good if there was a way to make something that is more difficult The same kind of thing as a recessed screw or a switch.
I was very pleased with the quality of the unit, clear labels, and instructions (in plain English) that clearly outlined the use of the product. Examples that are common to real-life situations as well as those that are specific to them. The cables are all connected, the options selected, and the rack is in place. I was expecting this to work exactly as it did and it did not change the quality of the signal in any way! The patches are an excellent addition to any project. I would buy again and recommend it to anyone.
I appreciate how well it was packaged and how fast it arrived. I think it works as designed. In the 1990s, I had a lot of products from ART. My only complaint is that they are all very well constructed except for the side reversible mounts. They crowd into the space above and below the patch bay and the side reversible mounts on the side are too large (vertically). It seems to have worked fine once installed, but I have only been using it a short time.
I have had this for more than a month now and never run into any issues. It lets me do everything I need it to do, as well as costing.
There is a lot to like about my ART P48. It sound great, has a very detailed and informative user manual, and is well built. Rack ears allow it to pass balanced and unbalanced signals and stereo signals as well.
It is a great product with fast delivery and is working as expected.
I think it's worth the money!.
