Questions & Answers

What if I want to use powered speakers to play this live? Can we do it without a head and a ?

In short, yes. It consists of a powered monitor (300 watts) with a 15' speaker and power supply In the future, I'd like to use horns as reference monitors. I have tried using the house monitors and it did not work well. I need a direct line out to the board. Your own powered monitor mimics what it would feel like if you were using an amp controlled by you.

What kind of tuner does it have onboard?

The unit has an onboard tuner that you can access by either using the "Tap/Tuner" button on the rack unit or by using the Line 6 FBV Shortboard II and other foot controllers. In addition to mapping one foot controller to it, it may be possible to map another brand's foot controller as well depending on the model and the presence of MIDI Since last year, I have owned one ( The POD HD Pro X ) and like it very much. As well as this, they make very good foot controllers.

If you want to play this live, do you need to connect it to a power amp before a speaker cabinet?

In short, yes. My experience has been that some people rely on the house monitors, but it depends on the crew to what extent. The first step is to send a signal from the device to the house with a direct box. You will then need to either get an amp and a PA monitor or a self powered PA monitor with a 15" and a horn. It is important not to skimp on power, because you need clean sound without over burning your Keyboard amplifiers were also used by some people to accomplish this. For clarity's sake, let me clarify one thing. They don't get the fact that they are using a modeled microphone and speaker cabinet. I have seen some people use power amps and guitar cabinets with the speaker cabinet modeling on. It is recommended to turn off the speaker simulation in the Processor if you use a guitar amp and a real 4 x 12 cabinet rather than a computer simulation of the cabinet. There are companies that sell their own solutions for self-powered speakers. Playing with other guitar players whose amps are traditional will be easy if you have a great Mackie Thump or the equivalent self-powered PA speaker. You might not be able to explain to them that your system does not sound like theirs when they stick their heads into it. They will detect your rig by the time you do your first show, and they will recognize it at that time.

Should I get a floorboard, or can I control it with my HD500? I. A punch effect can be put in or out with an expression pedal, patch change, or expression pedal. ?

A foot pedal such as the FBV III or the FBV Shortboard MKII will be the best way to control the HD Pro X. This will be a good choice since you can access all expression pedal functions. It is possible to run the HD500 with a MIDI controller. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. A few of the features are missing, such as the expression pedal.

The unit is nice and well built, but there are some quirks to be aware of
3/5

Having lost a Bass Pod XT Pro, I purchased this one to replace it. There are a few things I wish I'd known The following is a summary of the information There are two balanced TRS inputs at the rear and not two mono 1/4" inputs There is no signal displayed on the font panel input meter for the guitar input - it only appears for inputs with the XLR connector. In fairness, the guitar is emphasized MUCH more than the bass, and the bass is, to be honest, The following is a summary of the information Those who are comfortable working in studio style might find this unit a bit difficult to work on. There are no parametric EQs, all effects go through pedals, graphic EQs are only 5 bands, and parametrics don't indicate a frequency center they just read from 0 to the top. I'm leaving you with 100 guesses because these little things annoy me. When you are used to pedals, you shall have no problem if you are used to DAW style EQ's that feature 31 bands or are full parametric, this might be irritating. I-n- d The Line 6 Edit patch editor does not let you revert changes If the items in the signal chain are arranged in an order you choose, the UI won't allow that. There's not much point to this, unless the order in which the buttons are listed in the UI is related to how their buttons are assigned to the foot controller. There's something a little annoying about that. In spite of this, I can tell it has a substantially higher sampling rate and greater processing power than models in It has a much better sound quality. Because I had to find work, however, I had to take a lot more time to get a good bass tone dialed in as compared to the XT. There are various maneuvers in the signal chain that I need not perform on the Bass Pod due to the fact that you'll get 4 bass amp models, 2 cabinet models, and all guitar pedals to fit your needs, but no.

This is a useful studio tool
5/5

It is possible for me to record silently with several amplifiers. As an adjunct to my home studio studio arsenal, I wanted to test out this new tool. It is really cool to have the ability to change sounds so quickly with this device and the sounds it produces. One thing I don't like about it is how patches are edited. It is difficult to edit patches on the machine itself because it has a tiny screen and my old eye makes it difficult to see. Therefore, I connected it to a laptop via USB so I could edit the photos. This software has a clunky user interface where a virtual effects chain runs into a mixer followed by an amp. In other words, I am glad it was added.

My rack for recording has been greatly improved with this addition
5/5

Therefore, I do not play an active gig, but I do record. I have a lot of fun. You may have a hard time setting up mics and amplifiers. The problem of achieving a desired tone can be even more daunting. I was able to solve a lot of those issues with this little guy. This is a very versatile device that allows you to connect it to your computer and design your rig using the downloadable software. * This is not the same as a tube amp, so be aware this does not replace it. However, it does have impressive amp and speaker emulations, as well as effects and different microphone setups. Although I do record some guitar music, most of my recordings do not center around it. A Blues "S" that is authentic is impossible to find. Get a Princeton or Bassman if you want " sound. It's true that some of the presets are a bit strange, but I believe they're meant to demonstrate what the device is capable of. There are hardly any songs here that fail to satisfy heavy metal fans or alternative rock enthusiasts. Therefore, if you record a lot and need a variety of sounds on the fly, this is a nice buy for the price if you tend to record a lot.

I have found it to be the best system Then, after being impressed with amp modelers and watching a lot of YouTube comparisons of this to a tube amp, I decided to give this a spin during a later stage of its life
5/5

Due to the $200 discount this month plus a free effects package from Line 6 normally valued at $99, it was more reasonable. My only experience with amplifiers in the past was with solid state models. The majority of my playing has been in the privacy of my home, and I have performed only a few times. am a musician who plays both bass and guitar and is looking forward to something that will let me do both simultaneously. My goal at some point is to get a powered PA system to play through, but I am using Sennheiser headphones today. In addition, I purchased a control board to control it - the FBV Short. Considering everything I have seen so far, I am very To compare it with a tube amp, I do not have one at the moment, and probably will not. To my ear, the guitar presets sound pretty good. There are a lot of reviews saying that you have to mess around with them a lot to get decent sounds, but I haven't found this to be true. It has a lot of presets and can be customized with up to 100 different An online service allows you to share and download free tones. With a laptop connected to the software, it is easy to edit. It was not my fault that the on-disk software was messed up It seems to be easier to customize than other multi-layered boards but it does look like that This type of unit produces effects. One negative to the presets is that most of the bass presets sound too strange for me to use them. You can make your own tone by using some useful things. The preinstalled settings are just weird. In addition to a looper and a tuner, the unit also features a preset. I've been using it with the pedal and it works great. The purpose of this is mainly to simulate To sample, you can choose the amp, the cabinet, and even the microphone. In this case, I found this to be better than the HD500X because, if need be, I could connect a standard pedal board to it later. A great advantage of buying pedals online is that you are able to test them out at In a way, it is like getting the keys to a whole rack of pedals and getting to try them all out. My overall experience with the pedal has been excellent and I look forward to using it for years to come. I might upgrade to a different modeler in the distant future, but for the moment you can't beat the price on this one. In the next step up, the price is about five times higher.

I find this equipment to be very useful
4/5

Please be aware There may be some software glitches that can cause your driver to hang when used as your output device/soundcard. While I was connected to my computer, this thing had a tendency to bluescreen whenever I unplugged, turned off, or changed certain settings.

Apart from that, this is an excellent piece of gear. At a reasonable price point, the product is versatile, rugged, and affordable. Unless you want to spend a lot of money on a Helix or an Axe FX, this is your best bet.

My guitar playing has improved tremendously since I made this music investment
5/5

Since I am a guitar player, I was waiting for something like this and the quality and customizing are out of this world. This is what I bought to start my music production and add on to it. I love the effects, they're so creative and inspire my imagination. As a result, I have been able to build my skills as a musician much easier. It'd be a pleasure to buy from you.
