It's not designed for that, and you'd need a series to do so. 500 rack, and depending on the rack and your home audio amplifier, make sure everything is connected via XLR or TRS connections. You might want to look for a different home theater audio solution; this is more suited to recording studio or pro audio setups.

This is a dope device! It's primarily used for rap vocals. I usually don't skimp on studio equipment, but I have a damn good pre, so I figured this 160 clone would suffice. I won't go into detail about it sounding "warm" because that s*** is subjective, but I do know that the response is great and that the overeasy switch is useful if you just spend time tweaking and not over compressing. You can create a good sound that you'll enjoy. - This is a fantastic product with a lot of substance.
I'm very pleased with the 560a; I've connected it to an Avedis MD7 preamp and use the preamp in conjunction with this compressor to track bass. It's very open and transparent, and it gets the job done well. br>It's a no-brainer for the price.
It's not quite flexible enough to "squash" things, but it's perfect for vocals, anything with few transients, or very gentle mix processing.
Present and quiet to a fault. I'm impressed by how well DBX products have performed in the workplace workflow. You need one of these in your life; it's loud, present, and doesn't oversaturate the sound. With this bad boy, I've produced some hit records.
The 1u rack version is what I have. It's a workhorse, this thing. It's difficult to say it in a negative light. The 1u rack version is what I have. I don't think I've ever compared them. I just use it the way it's supposed to be used and almost always get a good result. If you're tired of mixing with plugins, the low price allows you to stock your rack with outboard compression.
This really appeals to me. It accomplishes precisely what it claims. This is one of those units that you slap on and then forget about, and when you take it out of the mix, it sounds as if something is missing. Make sure your AD converters are in good working order, as this thing has the potential to clip an AD if you push it too hard, and your levels must be accurate. It causes significant distortion in my Apogee Rosetta, so I'll either upgrade the Rosetta's signal path or route it through my BLA Sparrow red mkii.
Great compressor, classic sound in 500 series version, sounds just like the original rack versionbr>Easy to use and mount in API Lunch Boxbr>.
Excellent value for money.
