Questions & Answers

If I reverse this process, I can convert the low-value data back to the high-value data Low-z to High-z As an example. Is it possible to plug an xlr into a guitar amp with only a 1/4" output?

By converting high impedance sources to low impedance loads, DBBLOX transforms noise into signal. A 1/4 inch input jack and an XLR output jack are included. There is also a DBBLOXF version for converting a low impedance source to a high impedance load. It has XLR female inputs and 1/4" outputs.

This article is about how the high impedence line signal is treated or altered when it is coming out of a A 1-inch input jack to a XLR output has a high impedence to a ?

The 1/4 jack and XLR male out are connected by a transformer, so when the guitar/instrument signal enters the 1/4, the transformer changes the signal to Low Impedance.

What is the most convenient way to connect a dynamic microphone to a guitar amp?

If the guitar amp's input resistance is less than 1000 ohms, it will not allow the amp to achieve maximum sound quality. To use the microphone, you will need a separate

How many times do you get a I'd like to say at least ten- A frequency of 20,000 hertz and a phase of Would you say 5 dB is too much? A high end loss is a concern of mine through the What would be the advantage of an active box?

The high end loss has not been a problem for us, but if it is a concern you could go with the higher end proco DB1 that has a better transformer, but is still a passive direct box so you do not spend too much more for an active one.

I used it to feed the mic input on my camcorder in reverse
5/5

An attenuator and an adapter are required. The audio reference signal from my mixer is often routed to the mic input of multiple camcorders so the clips can be synchronized with one another, and with an external audio record. As a time code, the reference audio is used. Whenever I connect a signal to my camcorders via their power supplies, hum and noise result. I found that a passive direct box (DI) used in reverse reduced the noise significantly better than a 13 converter. The transformer is isolated from the rest of the circuit. In addition to the attenuator, conversion cables, and setting the audio level on manual on the camcorder, it was required. See below for more information. An XLR connector attached to the DI's output normally comes from one of the male pins. A female version of me was created You'll need to To use that as an input, you need a female cable. In addition, I used an XLR attenuator to reduce the mixer signal by 20-fold It reaches the DI 30 dB earlier than usual. On the other end of the DI is a 1/4 mono jack. It is possible to purchase a 1/4 mono to 3 converter. The tip of the mini plug should be connected to the tip of the 1/4 plug with a 5mm stereo adapter, or you can make your own cable. As a result, I changed the level of audio input on my cameras from AUTO to MANUAL, and switched from MANUAL to a lower level where the maximum input signal I expected from the mixer doesn't overload the cameras There was a rattle coming from the transformer inside the DBBLOX. This was easily rectified by removing the top of the box (upper screws on either end) and covering the transformer with a small piece of foam to hold it. I ordered one of these DIs for each of my camcorders since it is small and cheap.

It is perfect for a case like yours
5/5

The small size made it convenient to store it in the compartment of my guitar case. I don't have my gig bag and effects with me, so I don't need to plug in.

A DI Connector that is ultra portable
5/5

There is one older wireless mic system that I'm currently using with only line level out (1/4") and a system I'm trying to use with As the product is input/output configured (directional), you will have to order the correct configuration. It does its job in a perfect way without taking up much space or adding too noticed a sister product, the laptop DI with level control, and was intrigued so I went in search of it further and discovered I am glad I came across this. My next purchase will be more of them.

Worked like a charm! A DI box for guitars was needed at my church, so I decided to search for one on eBay
5/5

I like it because it works well and it isn't expensive. However, it didn't say Rapco in it-just some very long and meaningless name.

The price is very reasonable for what it offers
5/5

It runs straight from my bass preamp to our floor snake without any issues. I just velcro'd it on the back of my effects processor and plugged it into our mixer board. I was surprised at the quality for the price.

There were some quality issues with the implementation, but it was a nice size and a decent implementation
3/5

My goal was to run keyboards into an input block that provided only XLR connections, so this was the smallest solution I could find. In addition, I didn't want to be stuck with a stack of Whirlwind Directors (which I was using live already, and were very happy with - they're excellent! Since these new Radial DIs are quite large instead), I decided not to commit any of my new Radial DIs from my studio to this live situation (I simply did not require such a robust feature set). I believe that a rack DI (such as the quad Whirlwind rack or the Radial rack (which I have in my studio) would have caused more trouble than large individuals for this application. My goal was to find the smallest DI I could find and I had good luck with RAPCO in the past as a utility player. It's not like I'm picky about construction, so even with modest built quality, I started to think I'd be fine. It turned out to be a mistake. (Regarding features) The live system in which I used the DBBLOX (I bought four for mono keyboards) relies on balanced stage power, and everything is properly grounded so I had no problem with the ground switch not working. Fortunately, I do not need 1/4" thrus on stage since my monitors are handled at the console and I do not have any amps. In my opinion, the DBBLOX has a number of issues. After two years, only one out of four units have not been damaged. Three out of four need to be repaired. broken at the same time (the XLR side, which ruptured when you unplugged or plugged a cable. On the other hand, the innards simply became loose and required attention in order to prevent further damage. A product with components that rattle inside is, of course, one with rattling. When you rely on them to get your instrument to the main PA, you have a concern. Though I have been able to fix them, it is still an unsatisfactory design if 2 out of 4 needed surgery and one was treated as a preventative measure. As mentioned at the top, I typically purchase either proven rock solid live utility pieces or high end studio pieces, so here, I am forced to admit, this experiment was a failure. My DBBLOX have now all been replaced by Whirlwind DI's I already own. The size of this company makes things difficult, but I am confident they will work on all the gigs.

Input and output impedances of Rapco Horizon High to Low Input It was for my dad's church that I got the Rapco Horizon High to Low Impedance Converters
5/5

The product appeared to work well, according to him. The church uses these converters for keyboards, acoustic guitars, and electric guitars to play back through the main speakers in their The two converters in question were replaced last week after they were very pleased with this product. In addition to 4 to have on hand, they ordered an extra one as well if they need to replace them.
