Questions & Answers

Overdub tracks are you able to do?

Using the H8 is possible to overdub.

This device can record from four phones using the XLR to aux 3 connectivity. What cable would be a 5mm?

I do not have an issue with that.

Power over USB sounds interesting, don't you think? Can it be used without a powered USB port? And if it can, how well does it work?

It is true. You can power the H8 recorder via its built-in USB port, or you can use (4) AA batteries to operate it remotely It allows recording and playback when it is not connected to an AC or USB source of power.

Do you have the ability to output audio via USB to the PC for live streaming in podcast mode?

It is true.

It has a lot of functionality in a small, portable package
5/5

I am having a great time with this product. I love how it does everything as advertised and its sound is It was not disappointing once I spent some time exploring all of its features. There's nothing boring about Zoom H8. It's versatile and compatible with a wide range of devices. Displaying the software controls on its LCD screen is especially easy due to its size. There was only one thing to improve the ability to smoothly slide the volume slider control on headphones. This seemed like a small annoyance but it wasn't. (This issue has now been addressed in Zoom's It hasn't been updated yet). With the new headphone slider, you can control your headphones much more accurately. There are a few factors that make setting up the Audio Interface a challenge in Multi-Track You can use the Track Mix mode, too. I tried by trial and error after spending some time trying to figure it out, as there is no documentation on this. It is important that the Zoom H8 recording frequency settings match those of the recording gear. You should be able to access the Zoom H8 at 44 kHz, 48 kHz or 98 kHz. In order for your Digital Audio Workstation software to function, you must match all three settings on the H8, computer sound card, and your Digital Audio Workstation. If you have more than one DAW, you can As long as the Zoom H8 ASIO setting is set up correctly, you will have 12 inputs from the Zoom H8 available in track software. Four of the top four are the four elements of the top detachable microphone module. You can ignore the top four inputs listed in your mix unless an attachable module is used as a source. There are 8 inputs listed at the bottom of the Zoom H8's XLR inputs, which correspond to each of its 6 XLR inputs and its 2-channel * (Zoom offers a variety of modular microphone and expansion options). A video or documentation on how to set up a multi-user environment does not exist There is no track mode available at the moment. Perhaps I can create a video to explain this to new users, such Those are the kind of things I would have found useful for My experience with Zoom tech support led me to take them to school for this issue. The only thing I did was share the information I had gained. It was suggested I return the unit because it might not be compatible with my AMD processor, according to technical support. It wasn't as it seemed. It was a learning experience for me to persevere during my experiments. There are 2 licenses included in the package There is one for Steinberg's Cubase LE and one for WaveLab Cast. Both are included in the purchase and can be installed in parallel only once Users can create customizable effects for electric stringed instruments using the Guitar Lab software included with the app. You can use Guitar Lab's built in effects and ready made patches to really bring out your instrument's potential. As well as Adobe Audition, NCH MixPad, and Cubase 10, I also own these other programs. The currency unit is the Le. There are many types of multi-tools On all three of those DAWs, Track Interface Mode works flawlessly. The zoom H8 is recognized by them both, and they both perform flawlessly with it. With no problems at all, I'm running the included software on a (circa 2009) AMD PC running a Windows 10 Pro operating system. I must say, yes The purchase of this product would be a great investment, especially if you own an AMD, Intel, Mac, or Intel laptop computer You can use a tablet for the Pad. * The H8 produces high quality, affordable sound in a small portable package. It is well worth the money you spend on it. In the real world, the battery lifespan is more or less 15 hours. Plugging my H8 into a USB port on my computer at home is the way I do this. Powering it up and leaving it on without draining its battery is possible with USB.

The following is one of the major disappointments You can only use one effect at a time
4/5

I enjoyed many of the functionality of the H8, such as the sound quality and the ability to record 8 tracks simultaneously, but I found it odd that you can only apply 1 effect per other tracks can only use a single effect. This is a severe limitation that I did not expect nor was mentioned in the marketing or in the user guide. In response to a mail I sent to tech support, here's what they replied Sadly, using the H8 you can only assign one effect setting at a time. Thank you for your interest. This may have caused you some inconvenience. Please accept our apologies. I find it unbelievable!.

The build quality is not up to par
3/5

There is no doubt that Zoom's Handy recorder line is ubiquitous both in the pro and the consumer markets. It was my first time using the H8 and I'm really excited to see how it compares to the H4n and H6. My surprise was heightened when I learned from a friend that this portable recorder comes without a carrying case. Would it be okay to throw my $400 recorder into a backpack when I move it? It is an extremely serious oversight to have this on a piece of equipment destined for the road. There is a lot of plastic in the build quality. There is no way it can be destroyed by even a single accident Zoom skimped on the build quality of this camera, as even my H6 feels hefty and has a bit of build quality to it. As a result, one of my preamp latches was busted, and I had to pull the XLR plug with all my strength from the socket. As a result of this incident, I injured myself literally on location. I love the preamp and line-in options, and the touchscreen is much better than I anticipated. In addition, I am looking forward to their 4-channel audio system. When the quad microphone capsule is released, it will have four inputs. At that point, there are other audio interfaces related to the same price range that would be worth considering if you were to use it in a studio environment.

It was returned to me
3/5

This source does not have a good battery life, 4AA batteries will last about three hours. This is not enough battery life to allow a trusted source to do long podcasts from this source. Also, batteries are quite expensive at $9 for 4AA batteries.

On the market, it is the best small mixer
5/5

Even though it's less expensive and smaller, it can accomplish more than most mixers 3 times as large and 10 times as expensive. In addition to the six XLR inputs, each track has lots of controls and a main mix, so I use it mostly for Music Record (which has three different recording modes). Using batteries on this product will shorten its battery life, which is less than 15 minutes, and it should not be used in this manner. After using this unit every day for a while, there are very few downsides, which makes me want to.

There are no products that I love more than Zoom Products
5/5

Product reviews for Zoom products have always been great. The Zoom F4 I own is the following Since I purchased my Zoom H4N in 2008, I have had Windows 8 and a Zoom H4N. The Zoom H6 was sold to get the Zoom H8, then I found Zoom H8 and couldn't resist The system suits our needs for any project we take on. What makes the design stand out is the design itself!.

It's both a mixer and a recording device
4/5

Firstly, enter 1. A recording device. Using mixer effects ( delay, reverb, etc. etc. ) I like it a lot. 3.
Several features are included in it. The disadvantage is Firstly, enter 1. The app is not available for PC and Android. I don't like iOS Apps because they aren't equipped with 3.
It is necessary to improve applications for controlling scales A thousand).
