Questions & Answers

How high can the gain be set on the rotary gain control?

You're going to rip that knob off if you turn it up to 10! I am 11

It is going to create separate audio files for two shotgun mics and two lav mics, so that I can create my own mix in Post? Or will they all end up in ?

By connecting the 4 XLR inputs to the microphones, original mono files are created. With the attached microphones, 2 perpendicular to each other as shown in the picture, we can create 3 stereo files. We can use an audio package to mix all 5 files. A 90-degree onboard with 4 mics and 4 cable inputs allowed me to record my nephew's band playing. In order to remix the song with audio files, I used those files to create the audio track and layered it on top of the video track. Exactly what I was looking for.

The additional 2 channel XLR accessory has phantom power. Is this available?

There is no such thing.

The 1/4" input can be plugged directly into an acoustic guitar for recording. Will it sound good?

It depends on the preamps of the pickup on your guitar whether the answer is yes or no. I would say it would be fine for acoustic/electric guitar if you have decent pickups. I would recommend recording guitar with the provided stereo microphone, as they are exceptional as they are specifically designed for the Zoom recorder's preamp. The condenser microphones will be able to pick up the acoustic characteristics of your guitar with great precision because they pick up the natural ambience. It is my hope that this will be helpful.

The recorder is an excellent, versatile and convenient recorder, but I do have some concerns
4/5

Four phantom power mics and two pair of mics The mic pair comes with four power-supplying XLR connectors (and the ability to add two more via an accessory replacement), a mixer, and a battery-powered transmitter/receiver unit It performed. There's nothing like this little multi-tool in the miniature world Recording studio with multiple tracks. The majority of my recording sessions in this system have been live sitar performances in an indoor cafe at a local cancer hospital, Sunday traditional choir Masses at my church, as well as other outdoor You'll find it very convenient, and it will be fantastic. NiMH rechargeable batteries are the ones I use. It recorded for about 15 hours on a single charge when I ran it flat out one time. It has a setting that lets you specify what battery type to use, like recharge or non-rechargeable. I've never had problems with it, but the battery segments fall to one every few hours, so that doesn't prove very useful as an indicator of remaining time. A difference in voltage causes the battery to be alkaline. Even so, the remaining battery indicator is no more accurate than before! I just recharge the batteries from time to time, so it's not Possibly related, but I noticed that the timebase on the site is off. Since I began recording over 30 years ago, I have had multiple Sony handheld stereo recorders, as well as a KORG D3200 multitrack recorder Similarly, I have a sound recorder and a track recorder, all of which I have been able to sync for long periods of time (I do video work) without any It seemed to me that this was something they had handled in the digital world, with crystal-clear communication The ability to control clocks with high Whenever you load the waveforms into a computer and enlarge them, you see that the sounds are in different places. In this case, the time it takes for short reverberations to propagate off of nearby hard surfaces. So, if you are recording things in a reverberant space, like a church, this drift can cause your recording to sound artificial. If you cut it into little pieces and make them micro-sized, you will get a favorable result. To keep it under control, you will need to adjust the timing about every 30 minutes. If you don't have that option, you'll have to use your audio software to incorporate that difference every single time. It's nothing to worry about, but it is an added headache after working with digital recordings for the past 20 years. In turn, it seems to me when participating in critical listening that the performance of this recorder is not as clear as I'd like. The recordings I make are clear, clean, even at volume extremes compared to other devices I've used or have owned, especially when making loud, impulse recordings Church choirs with sopranos are examples of this. Neither clipping nor cutting are what I mean. At the loudest part of a female singer's song, even if she keeps her voice below clipping level, I swear I can hear something strange happening. The side-by-side comparison is one of those things that drives you crazy Various recordings are taken from different recorders, and you try to distinguish if you can actually understand what you hear. Rather than sounding like brick, it sounds like It doesn't make sense to wall off the area When I record the subjects at the levels and distances that I am at, I should be well within the capabilities of the micros and preamps I'm using. I guess all in all, it's a good day for me- All in all, it's a great recorder for most things, especially if you're not using it to sync with something else or for anything that requires super-tight synchronization Although I give it 4 stars for these admittedly highly subjective observations, I find the subject matter loud and impulsive. A 5's), which can handle jet engines and things of that nature. There is no guarantee that your mileage will be the same. Here are a couple more positive notes to wrap up. Depending on the size of the unit, it can serve as a 6-inch monitor You can connect it to your computer and use it as both a recorder and an audio interface. If you want to record directly to hard drive from your DAW software, that's a VERY convenient feature! In addition, the memory capacity of the device is fantastic. In total, I have more than 15 stereo hours, almost 8 at four channels, and more than 5 at six channels on a 16 GB memory card. The memory cards it can hold are much bigger than those in other designs! It took me a little time to install ASIO4ALL (an ASIO driver for free) on my computer, but it seems to be perfectly compatible.

Several vulnerabilities exist Interference with the electric current
3/5

I really like the feel of this recorder, and it's easy to get the files off the device. An audio recording of high quality is one that was produced without error. I have a huge issue with the fact that, although 95% of the time the recordings are clear, 5% of the time there is a loud beeping or beeping sound that occurs I expected to receive a recorder that produces good recordings 100% of the time. I do not feel this unit lives up to It's not a good idea to purchase audio products from Zoom again. It's a good idea to consider alternative companies for your audio needs. A NEW UPDATE The unit has been rendered inoperable. Having gotten in touch with support, I have been informed that my unit will be replaced. It cost them money to send the goods back to them. My package is still in transit and I haven't heard anything back from them. *BIG *BIG *UPDATE2 It is working well for me so far since I got a new unit. In general, I do not have AC power at this time since I have reason to believe there was a power surge or faulty cord which caused the defect. The third update It is also very susceptible to electrical interference with this new model. When using a smartphone, laptop, or other device within less than 10 feet of someone who is holding a microphone, the recorded audio is unusable. As far as I can tell, Neuther unit really worked as an audio interface. You must keep your recordings away from any electrical interference if you're going to use them. In my opinion, the unit should be marketed differently in order to address these limitations and make them more visible to those considering purchasing the unit.

Owning a home is a sense of pride
5/5

After getting started with the Zoom H6, I decided to purchase the Zoom H6 H4nPro is fine. In order to increase the number of XLR ports, I could not use workarounds like cables and adapters. For me, it will primarily be used for recording interviews and podcasts with each interviewee The average is four per mic) on their own dedicated XLR dynamic mics. In Zoom's field recorder line, the H6 is referred to as the "Papa Bear". In charge of the group. I believe this is a great buy given its price of around $350. For all the features and value it offers, I believe it isn't an impulse buy, but at the price, it may not be easy to justify. You can actually carry a studio around with you in the palm of your hand.

It is very intuitive, and it is easy to use, whether you are a hobbyist like me, or a professional. In a short amount of time, I was able to get everything strung up and create some outstanding sounds Taking very good recordings within a short period of time. It is easy to use the H6 when it is laid flat on a work surface because it has a shape and build that makes it ergonomic. Although it was difficult to mount, I did mount it to a wall.
