CASEMATIX Case Compatible with Zoom Podtrak P4 Podcast Recorder and Podcast Accessories in Padded Foam, Includes Case for Zoom Podtrak P4 Only with Handle and Carry Strap

My experience with CaseMatix has been disillusioning after owning a number of their cases. The first thing that happened was that it was packaged One corner of the image was crushed, as it appeared that something heavy had been placed on top. Obviously the manufacturer wasn't at fault, but it was a little unfortunate that it didn't come packaged. Unfortunately, I did not find this to be sufficient to return or replace my items from Amazon. In fact, the case's caption touts the unit as "compatible with P4" and in the photo, it even comes with a P4 unit. Recorder fits snugly enough, but I feel like the case was intended for the P4 rather than the case being specifically designed for the P4. It appears like the manufacturer embedded a piece of foam into the case to compensate for the size difference between unit and the case. I don't think this is a huge deal since it was designed to be compatible rather than "specifically designed for". A sturdy zipper and decent quality detachable strap make this bag seem well built. There are two parts to this case. A P4 is kept at the bottom of the container, while cables are kept at the top. No cable longer than seven inches can be put in the top pocket unless it is an XLR cable. As far as I can remember, the only item I owned in this section was my power bank, which was a USB charger There are two types of C cables. It had been my dream to put two XLR cables, a power bank, and USB interfaces in there There wouldn't be any problem with putting a giraffe and a cord in there, but we're never going to get that. Nevertheless, I wasn't too concerned because the main thing I was worried about was the recorder. Let me share my main complaint with you right now. What on earth is this case made of? There is a faux carbon fiber look, although it is not actually carbon fiber (and that is not our complaint As soon as I lay hands on the case, I'm struck by how tacky and oily it feels. The only thing I put on it were finger prints. Since I thought the residue was from the shipping bag or something, I cleaned it up with a wash cloth as soon as possible. I could still feel the tacky quality of the case even after it had dried. This is a bit like duct tape that is semi-dry. Since it is spring and we are in the midst of pollen season, I have had the case in my car, and now the case has a nice yellow gleam. White sticks to this thing like rice and pollen wouldn't stay off. I even showed it to a coworker I told my coworker that was strange, and he responded, "It's weird". It's true what he says. Strange. Here is what I would like to convey You need to give me the MSDS sheet for this product so I know what the ingredients of this space age polymer are, and whether or not there is a risk of cancer in California from this chemical. Overall, I think the $20 price tag for admission was an overcharge for the "compatible" case I was receiving. Since the suspect is using the tacky mystery compound that coats the case, I realize that my judgment is probably skewed. Bar on the side Aside from that, it tastes bad as well.

The shoulder strap is perfect for me. It's a good result for me. The price may have been a bit high, so I docked one star.

I bought this to go with my zoom podtrak penta. It fits perfectly and has some extra storage.
