Questions & Answers

Can I connect a wireless microphone to this mixer?

You can certainly do so. I've used it a lot to run Shure wireless mics. Simply connect your wireless system's transmitter and you're ready to go! 👍🏻

Is there a built-in echo effect?

I'm not a fan of the ECHO effects. The ECHO effects on my $100 Costco Karaoke are better. Is there another mixer that has a better ECHO, or are the speakers to blame?

Is this suitable for recording a podcast?

Yes, I've been using it for podcasting since I first got it, and it's fantastic.

Is there also a USB cable included?

Hello Michael, I am sorry I am not 100% sure because I have so many of those cables that they all got mixed up but I think it does, USB plus power

Sound quality is below average, despite the above-average features
3/5

I paid $100 for it when it was on sale. I would not, however, recommend this mixer to a beginner at any price - or anyone else for that matter - because of its numerous flaws, which only add to the complexity of life The 1002B is a far superior product that is also less expensive. Simply purchase a dedicated USB interface and FX unit, or use FX built into your DAW.

- Although the build quality is acceptable, it does have a plastic-like feel to it. y have a distinct appearance and feel to them. This video transports you to the early years of the twenty-first century.
- It has no rubber feet, so it slides all over the place. You'll have to do it yourself.
- It gets extremely hot near the power connector, which raises concerns about the mixer's longevity as well as the risk of damage to desk surfaces. If you don't want to keep it on all the time, you'll have to unplug and replug the power cord all the time because there is no power button. br>- The sound effects are quite pleasing to the ear. You won't notice digital aliasing until you listen to them on headphones, where you'll notice it if you turn up the FX loud enough to stand out in the mix. It's probably because of this that the FX are so quiet during "unity. "
- The FX knob can be finicky, and changing the FX number can take several "clicks. "
- The dynamic range of the mixer is poor. Unless the main volume is set low, the mixer's output is hissy; however, you must then turn everything up, which increases the likelihood of clipping on individual tracks.
- The device is small, but it has a lot of inputs. When you combine this with extremely tight connections, you have a recipe for disaster. which, on the surface, appears to be a good thing - It also allows for a lot of finger gymnastics and two-handed play. tug-of-war – war.
- I haven't tried the USB connection yet, but it appears to be only 16-bit. 44khz is a bit rate. This is completely pointless information. An original digital recording should have a bit depth of at least 16 bits.

updated: After only a year, the company went bankrupt
3/5

August 2017 update: A YEAR AND TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, IT HAS BEEN BROKEN - br>I received some unfavorable information. My Behringer QX1002 was only a year old when it broke. It all began when I discovered my headphones weren't working a few weeks ago. Tonight, I discovered that not only my headphones, but also my monitors' external outputs were silent. It turns out the problem is with the Behringer mixer. When I unplug and re-plug the unit, it works for about 1 minute. It only takes three minutes. Following that, it makes some strange feedback/sounds before going completely silent. br>I took good care of this unit for the most part, didn't take it on any trips this year, it just sat on my desk and was used for atypical desktop audio and the occasional guitar, and it's already broken. I feel cheated and taken advantage of in some ways. This thing lasted for a very short time. br>br>I'm giving this a 1/5 star rating because of my personal experience. Aside from the fact that it had broken, I was also experiencing some audio issues. It had been having quality issues for several months, indicating that it was most likely bad. If I had to guess, I'd say it got too hot. This mixing board simply gets too hot, and it's ridiculous that no power switch was installed. If you don't like wasting $100 bills, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

- original review published in May 2016 - br>I recently purchased this mixing board to replace an Alesis MultiMix 4 that had been causing me problems (in fact, I had gone through two Alesis mixers). I record and produce music in my home studio and needed a reliable mixer. Because of its USB capabilities, I chose the Behringer model. The fact that this device has so many inputs drew me in. br>I have to say, I'm very pleased with this mixing board; all of the inputs are excellent, the controls are sensitive, and it does everything it's supposed to do. It's well-built, with no hiss, static, or interference in either the headphones or the main outputs; the FXs are also quite nice, and there are a lot of them. br>br>I use it as my DAW with FL Studio. I've got Guitar Rig 5 and an Alesis SR-80 hooked up to this. This is the destination of 18 Drum Machines. So far, there have been no issues. I'm using the ASIO4ALL open-source software and it works perfectly. To connect it to my Windows 10 PC, I'll need to find drivers. I have M- as my primary outs. Monitors for recording studios. There is no noise or hiss, which I like, and it produces crystal clear audio recordings in my DAW with no latency issues, which I also like. br>I wanted to give it a perfect five stars, but it has a few flaws. For starters, as others have pointed out, this device gets quite hot. I don't like leaving it on unattended because it's not scorching hot. I believe this could have benefited from some additional ventilation at the very least. The second - It doesn't have an on/off switch. I'm not sure why such a basic feature would be left off of a mixing board, so I bought an on/off AC outlet adapter to avoid having to unplug it all the time. Last but not least, I have a peculiarity with this; Rubber feet or padding, I believe, would have been a good idea. It's fairly easy to move around. It should have had a rubber base, in my opinion. br>br>Despite its flaws, this mixer is a fantastic mixer. If I run into any problems with it in the future, I'll update it.

As a starter, it'll suffice, but if you want to upgrade to 24bit/96kHz, you'll need to replace it

Because the maximum rate is so low, my voice recording in Davinci Resolve suffers. Premiere Pro CC is a program that allows you to de-clutter your computer. Because my screen capture software records audio at 24bit/96kHz, I had to reduce the audio resolution.

I have conflicting emotions about this
3/5

I can't decide whether to give it 3 or 4 stars. The unit is extremely well-run. The amount of heat coming from the bottom is my biggest concern, which is why I returned it. It gets so hot that I was afraid it would damage my desk, if not catch fire, and there is no power switch on this unit, which was another factor in my decision to switch to the X1204USB. So you'll have to unplug the power cord every time you want to turn it off (which you'll probably do due to the heat).

To begin with, this is an excellent beginner mixer
4/5

It's exactly what I needed; my audio is crystal clear, and the FX effects are a nice touch. The only negative aspect of this mixer is that there is no on/off switch (you must unplug it), and I'm still trying to figure out how to record the FX with the audio. Aside from that, this is a fantastic beginner mixer.
