A piece of gear must always be carried in a case if it is taken outside the house. The best case fits the gear precisely, abates jostling during transportation, but best of all, it allows the gear to move freely. Gear is protected by it! It is unnecessary to have a shoulder strap, you may remove it if you wish. There is a lot of durability in the construction, and the padding is thin but It's not always about fluffy padded cases when it comes to protecting your computer. Padding absorbs a blow based on its density as well as its ability to cushion it. There is no reason to buy the mixer without the case. The Mackie 802 Series are built to last, and this case is the perfect complement! It has a KILLER price!* Don't buy the mixer without it. It just takes a few minutes.
Bag is the perfect match for the 802 SLZ3 mixer for VLZ. In something like an old school laptop bag, the mixer is enclosed in a mid-weight canvas bag with two pockets. It's nice that the mixer and power adapter are housed in the same main compartment, leaving the other two pockets for adapters and cables. Mackie has a good soft case, however if you'd prefer something with heavier canvas and padding on the strap, as well as being a touch less expensive (at the time of this writing), check out Gator's G-Size soft case instead. A perfect fit and the high quality for which Mackie is famous. Everyone has their favorite and most hated gear, but if I were to put it simply, nothing I've ever owned that had a Mackie logo on it has ever let me down during a performance. Mackie is hard to beat if you are handling your own mix live using Mackie stuff. I'm sure there are higher quality items with better specs, but I find the Mackie stuff is very good when I manage my own mix.
It was actually for the 802 that I bought it There is no need to replace the VLZ4. If there was a hard-sided case for the mixer, I would have preferred it to be padded more. Even if I did, I wouldn't be throwing it around. This wire management system is very useful for cables as there are pockets for cables, and adjustable spaces inside for electrical plug cables. Despite the fact that the electric plug has one of those heavy black block transformers, it is not the bag's fault. Please be all-inclusive All in all, I think this was a good purchase.
My Mackie is kept safe in this bag, just a small bit larger so that the mixing board and important parts can also be stored.
Quality of the Mackie.
I was expecting a case with a handle, and that is what I got. A perfect match for the mixer. There is a power supply area on the side. By bending two strips of cardboard and putting them in the case, I added a bit more protection to the mixer's two outside corners. There wasn't a lot of effort required, and it wasn't necessary to stack all your speakers on top of it. The case is soft, so I wouldn't stack all of your PA speakers on top of it, but I'm not sure why you would want to.
The product was delivered on time.
