Questions & Answers

I've got my own DJ set up. Is this the most suitable choice?

This mixer has already been used for that purpose. It performs admirably. I recommend routing the music through a pair of mic-ready channels. This is my preferred method because it provides all three EQ levels. This set of controls is extremely effective.

How do I eq rca inputs/outputs since they don't have the same eq controls as the other channels?

Here is where you can get support for ALTO! EQing is not available on the RCA aux inputs. If you prefer to EQ the audio, I recommend using a cable with two 1/4" connections to connect your audio source to channels 5 and 6. This allows you to route your stereo signal through a mixer channel with EQ controls. Please contact us using the information on altoproaudio if you have any additional questions. www.com/contact

Is there a powered subwoofer output on this? Is it possible to connect a powered subwoofer to the monitor output? Do you have any suggestions?

It might have Sub Woofer output, but I'm not sure. That's something you can always do with the monitor output.

Is it possible to make recordings with this and the Tascam Pocket Studio 8 track recorder?

Well, the Alto ZMX122FX is more than my ZMX862 (the 122FX has that Effects Section and a few more channels), but you should be able to plug some of my mixer Outs into the Ins of any Audio Interface Unit or Recording System. Mixers are designed to do just that. Yes, there are mixers with USB Outs that can connect directly to a computer, but I'd be concerned about the DAW (Digital Analog Audio Video Work Station) on the computer. Software for mixing and production). There will be DAWs that can work with whatever inputs are available at some point, but with so many Proprietors "competing" against each other, we live in a world with a lot of unnecessary waste. But, yes, the Alto ZMX122FX. You could record an entire small band's Left Right Stereo Mix or two DAW Tracks.

Bullet appears to be: Proof, Versatility, and a Great Sound I spent hours on Amazon looking at mixers and reading all of the reviews
5/5

Ultimately, I chose the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. . . I had to double-check my order to make sure I didn't pay twice as much for shipping as I did for the product. I ordered the new ALTO ZMX862 Mixer to replace my old Peavey 6 Mixer – I loved that old Peavey Six. . . I think I had been using it HARD (every day!). ) for the past eight years, but the Fader Pot on the Main Output (that big Slide Volume Control) eventually developed dead spots and/or rose and fell in volume on its own, or made crackle snap and pop noises. Normally, squirting a little Shop Grade Alcohol into the Slide, exercising it, and then letting it dry for a while will give a fading Fader some temporary life, but this one was finally shot. So I appreciated the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer's lack of Faders in favor of regular Turn Pots. Check out the reviews for every mixer on the market to see how common it is for faders to fail – it's a Big Problem with Mixers. Now, there have been some criticisms of the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer's 'fact' that the different Pots on the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer have different 'feels'—some are stiff, while others turn more easily. So, after spending two days "dialing in" my new ALTO ZMX862 Mixer, there's one thing I'm certain of: I DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING FUNNY ABOUT HOW THE POTS WORKED. After all, if THAT is the Mixer's biggest flaw, don't you think it's the best mixer on the planet? br>br>I DID notice that everything was much brighter through this ALTO ZMX862 Mixer than it was through my old Peavy6, so I had to dial down the mids and highs a little more, but that could indicate that this Mixer has a much higher effective Bandwidth. The ALTO ZMX862 Mixer wasn't spec'd for Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and the Peavey had excellent THD specs, but I haven't noticed any blurring or fogginess in the audio. The ALTO ZMX862 Mixer sounds fantastic once you've 'dialed it in. ' br>br>Now, for an example of how useful the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer is, I was using the Old Peavey to mix IPOD Audio in with my Guitar and then running both the IPOD and the Guitar Audio back through my Guitar Amp (a Fender Mustang III). . . you know, instead of having separate speakers for the 'Music' and the Guitar, I was using just the Guitar Amp. In detail, I took the 'Conditioned' Guitar Signal from the Amp's FX Send and fed it into one of the Peavey Mic Inputs (mono) on the Peavey. I routed the Mixed Signal from the Peavey Mixer to the Amp's FX Return via the Peavey's own FX Send (and from there to the Final Power Amplification and then to the Speaker, ensuring that the nice Clean IPOD Music isn't'stepped on' by 'Guitar Effects'). I 'Split' the Peavey's FX Send signal and plugged it back into the Mixer's own FX Return Input to keep the Peavey working all the way through to the Main Out and Headphone Out (FX Sends require FX Returns or the line is dead). The new ALTO ZMX862 Mixer, on the other hand, operates in a unique way. The AUX Circuits are used with the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer to do the same thing as the Guitar Amp's FX Send and Return and the Mixer's effective Send and Return. The FX Send of the amplifier is still connected to a Mic Input (mono), but the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer has an "AUX Send" and a "2 FX" connector. It's a STEREO Send, and my Mustang III FX Return is a Mono, but all you have to do to convert a Stereo Out to a Mono Out is plug a 14-inch Mono Plug into the Mixer Stereo Jack, and everything comes out Mono. I tried using the Control Room Out as the Return Signal to my Amp's FX Return at first, and while it 'kind of worked,' it effectively locked in the Headphone Volume from the ALTO ZMX862 Mixer to the Main Level and Control Room Volume, which I had to adjust way down to avoid overdriving the Mustang III amplifier. That didn't give me a lot of headphone volume. That's what got me thinking about using AUX Circuits – there appear to be Volume Controls everywhere in the AUX Circuit, allowing you to balance all the Volumes while keeping the headphone volume on a separate branch of the circuit. As soon as I figured out what everything was for, it was extremely useful. br>br>However, in this application, the new ALTO ZMX862 Mixer performs significantly better. I had to keep the Master Volume of the Amp very low with the old Peavey because the Peavey Signal into the Amp could not be adjusted down far enough for the Amp to work in its Sweet Spot. My next project will involve sending a mixed audio signal to a video camera, so being able to adjust the Output Levels will be very useful. br>br>I really like the new ALTO ZMX862 Mixer. But if anything strange happens 'down the road,' I'll be sure to return and deduct a few stars and explain why.

UPDATE: After three years and numerous gigs, I'm still working
4/5

Because I switched to digital, I'm selling mine. However, here is my advertisement for it, which says a lot.

- br>br>It's described as an 8-channel mixer (16 if you include FX, aux, and other features), but I believe this is incorrect. What is the total number of channels with faders and aux sends? Six. So, for all intents and purposes, it's a six-channel mixer. Non-Non-Non-Non-Non-Non-Non-Non-Non-Non-Non There are no pets in the house because it is a non-smoking environment On a number of occasions, I've been asked to perform. the age of three years Always delivered on time and on budget. This mixer is one of my favorites. I'd keep it in a heartbeat if it weren't for the following: 1. br>br> I went to a digital mixer for the first time - There will be no going back.
2. As a backup, I have a smaller Yamaha mixer. So.
3. Three mixers are overkill for me. It has reverb effects built in (there are other effects, but they're gimmicky). It's the reverb that counts). There is no compression on any of the channels. Preamps are relatively quiet and capable of bringing an SM57 up to a usable level. br>br>A three-band EQ is sufficient to make almost anything work. Low to high pass, high to low pass, low to high pass, low to high pass, low to high pass, low to high pass, low to high pass, low to high pass, low It's straightforward, but it aids in the management of headroom. br>br>The level meter is quite accurate. It's after the fader, but I've had great success with it. I was usually able to get our levels so close to perfect with just the meter that soundcheck only needed minor adjustments. br>br>To be honest, I can't think of anything negative to say about this mixer. The power cord could have been a little more robust, but it was housed in a case with strain relief, so it never had to deal with any strain.

Constructed with a lot of care and attention to detail
5/5

Sound quality is excellent. The ZMX862 has six channels. This seemed like a good way to get at least two mic amps for a small project I was working on. Balanced Inputs with Phantom Power of 48 Volts There's plenty of gain on the inputs to handle low O/P mics, as well as plenty of headroom for high O/P condensers. There was no hum at all, and the noise level was very low. EQ that is both basic and functional; does exactly what the panel says. All of the controls have a nice, smooth, and solid feel. The Headphone Amp has plenty of juice as well. If you have a few handy cables, you can use the Inputs and Outputs in a variety of ways. You can even make a Mix-and-Match system. minus for on-the-job training Meetings on the line Even on ZOOM, 'Real' Microphones can sound amazing, as I've been demonstrating to my friends. My (regular) ASMR demonstration of opening a can of Dark Irish Stout 1" from a well-known Austrian mic is well received. Especially when using a small Reverb Box to process the FX O/P. That's probably how Heaven sounds.

This mixer is perfect for me! I had previously purchased another mixer (an Ammon 4 channel console) that had a problem with picking up system audio through the mic/line in input
5/5

In exchange for this Alto ZMX682 mixer, I returned it. I was a little worried when I read on the manufacturer's website that the mixer isn't recommended for use with a desktop computer. However, by purchasing a stereo line-in to USB cable, I was able to make it work with mine. I needed 48v phantom power for my AT2020 condenser mic, so I used the mixer. It was a huge success. The color and quality of the construction are both excellent. The ZMX862 has a dedicated control room/phones, as well as main to aux switches, which distinguishes it from the Ammoon's version. This made it easier to disable my voice feedback (I didn't need to hear myself all of the time). Most importantly, I don't hear any system audio when I use the mic/line input! It has a real power switch, so I don't have to unplug it all the time when it's not in use. It has a lot more pots to play with and a long meter for measuring audio sources. It's a powerful console because I don't have to crank up the gain or volume to get anyone to hear me. The audio quality of the system is excellent! br>br>So far, the mixer has met my expectations! It is something I strongly suggest.
