Questions & Answers

I'd like to do multitrack recording in real time. Is there more than one stereo master track sent by the USB interface?

Evening. From a Multimix 4 to a two-channel mixer, I downsized. This is a channel mixer that I use to record audio books. If my memory serves me correctly, the bus allows for two track in/out (stereo, of course). I apologize for not being able to assist you further. Have you gone to places like B&N to look at the specs? What about H, Sweetwater, zZounds, and other similar artists?

What's the difference between a monitor out and a main out? Is it possible to use this mixe to control two sets of speakers and a headphone volume independently?

Consider it like a concert: Main Out is the sound system that the audience hears. Monitor Out refers to the speakers that the musicians hear when they are turned backwards. The mixer's producer listens to music through headphones. br>And, yes, you can control the volume on each of those outputs separately.

Is it possible to record a call while doing a podcast by plugging my phone into one of these ports? in addition to two xlr mics ?

Hello, Matt, and welcome to the Alesis community! Your phone can be connected to any of the line-level inputs via the headphone jack, and it will record alongside two XLR microphones. If you have any additional questions, please contact me directly at [email protected]. com.

Is there a download for Cubase LE included with this?

Yes, there is a download code included.

Alesis has a long and illustrious history, which is why I chose this mixer. Alesis studio monitors can be found throughout the radio station where I work. This was purchased for use in my home studio as well as for use remotely. I had not expected to receive a mixer with such a bad hiss that it is useless, garbage, and a complete waste of money. br>br>What irritates me the most is that I am unable to return it. I am a Bahamas resident. I've already paid for shipping from Florida to the Bahamas, as well as import duties and taxes (all of which are non-refundable). (returnable). br>br>For the price of returning this mixer, I might as well burn it (offffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff Now I have to wait for a new mixer, and I've already spent a lot of money on this one. SMT. Buyers, pay attention to what I'm saying. THIS MIXER HAS A HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS PURCHASE IS NOT RECOMMENDED. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND FEEL WHAT I AM SAYING. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

If you use Logic and want to hear playback while recording, this is not the product for you
3/5

However, as a portable mixer and midi interface, it works well and the effects are good. The biggest letdown is that using the built-in USB interface to record my guitar into Logic, it is impossible to record a signal (i. e. While listening to the tracks on logic, I played my bass. The result is that you receive the entire mix for the newly recorded track. br>br>And, obviously, you won't be able to hear the wet signal of the track you're recording, both for the reasons stated above and because Software Monitoring on Logic doesn't work for some reason. br>br>What I've done is purchase a low-cost USB interface (the Behringer UCR222 has proven to be reliable). This has a headphone jack, and I use it to route the Alesis' analog audio output through it so that I can hear a mix of my dry Alesis input plus the mix from Logic while recording cleanly to the track. You could also get a headphone mixer and route the mix from the Mac audio output and the Alesis phone output through it to create a single headphone mix. br>br>It all comes down to this. For the price, this isn't a bad piece of gear, but what's the point of the USB interface if you don't want to monitor what's going on in your DAW? So, despite the fact that the device has the same basic circuitry as the Behringer, there appears to be a disconnect in how they route things or a lack of an additional option.

Disappointing to say the least
3/5

This mixer was purchased to replace my Alesis Multimix 4 USB (the older non-USB version). After it was accidentally broken, the fx version of this product was created. Because of the low price and favorable reviews, I assumed this would be a step up in quality. I loved the older product because it had excellent EQ balance and volume control, and my guitars sounded fantastic through it. This product, on the other hand, is a whole other story. Everything you put through it sounds muddy, overly strong on the LO end, and overall much too quiet (I tried multiple mics and guitars). My guitar sounded muddy and muffled even on the highest treble setting. All mic recordings sound distant, and the only way to get any sharpness out of them is to turn up the HI knob until the inherent noise in the channel turns into a horrible hiss. The phantom power also produces a loud, high-pitched hum from the unit itself (not in the audio channel). My dog became terrified and bolted out of the room. I'm actually surprised at how much of a step down this product is from a previous, simpler unit from the same manufacturer that worked perfectly. This item will be returned to me. br>br> TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL

- There is a general lack of sound quality. All audio is too quiet, muffled, muddy, and pushed to the end of the line.
- When using phantom power, the unit emits a loud high-pitched whine. br>The build quality is excellent, and the interface is simple to grasp and use.

This isn't intended for use with a digital audio workstation
3/5

I did some internet research. Jesse's review, on the other hand, I did not read. The main output receives all signals from the USB and the mixer before being sent to the USB/computer. This means that when you use a mixer channel to listen to a track from your DAW, you send the main output to the computer. Everything you hear from the main output will be sent to your computer and recorded. The input/output loop is the star of the show. br>br>Apart from that, it's excellent for its purpose. It isn't a very high-quality product. end sound quality, but that isn't the point. It's clean enough for household items, and I'd say it's a good value for money. I have to return it, though, because the input/output loop causes feedback, echos, and other unpleasant effects.

Zoom, discord, and streamers are not supported
3/5

A key feature of the 8-channel version is missing in the 4-channel version. There is no way to monitor your voice and hear game sounds or voices on discord or zoom on the four channel version without sending those signals BACK through to the computer. You will be sending the pc sounds back through the mic if you choose to hear what the PC is sending while also monitoring your own voice. As a result, when people are in discord, they can hear themselves. Through your mic, everyone in Zoom can hear themselves. br>br>The 8 channel version has a button that allows you to choose whether or not to send the USB data back through. I switched from a four-channel to an eight-channel version.
