It happens once in a while that the MacBook Pro suddenly quits. It is likely that they will find a solution to these problems. I use the sound Forge 10 software on my PC almost every day, and it has the potential of being better than it. It is pretty much the same as 10. I just upgraded and there seems to be no real difference It is my hope they will be able to resolve the glitches with sound Forge on the Apple so I can move away from the Windows and start using the Apple, I think it is best for audio and video.
I have used the Windows versions since version 3. Through version 11, this Mac version provides nowhere near as much user friendly experience as its Windows counterpart. Aside from that, it's also way more expensive. It is not a product I would recommend.
It serves me well for all my projects and I love it.
There is one minor feature I like about the Mac version of the program, which is the ability to add files to existing apps With Sound Forge (10), you can take advantage of Lion's features. It has the advantage of letting you close out the program with no saving, something more difficult to do on a computer. The entire program can be closed at any time and then reopened just as you can with Text Edit Where you left off is where you should begin. When you accidentally close the program, you are mistaken in believing that unsaved changes have been lost, but then you open it again, and it appears that the file has been opened This is similar to the way a hibernate PC behaves when the software is running. Surely, there must be a virtual memory within the program to allow this, but I'm not sure if the sandboxing is involved. In fact, that should be explained as the first issue, or rather the differences between Windows versions. Please, all-- The system has to be configured to sandbox and you have to choose, say, a drive letter, and add it to the list to directly save the files. Windows programs do not need this, but is possible it could be useful in preventing the program from being attacked by viruses. The B
- The Mac version of this program opens files fairly quickly, but it can be a bit slow when it opens. Peaks appear to be faster to build. Please note
Plug-in for MP3 players There is a problem with in. There are no encode quality settings (how long does it take to convert to MP3) If you let the time elapse for longer than desired, the file will have better quality). The resulting file will also be shorter than the original, say the WAV. Please note
Mac users are not able to remove DC offsets and have the Vocal Eraser function disabled. This plug does not bother me since it is plugged in We didn't get a very good result from it. If you are planning on using SpectraLayers for this purpose, you would be better off using them. Please note
It does not appear Scott Studios Wave and Perfect Clarity Audio are supported. Maybe because those CODECs are only available for C++ development in Windows? The B
- A Web browser window is taken up total, and for each open file, a tab is displayed. When I open them on the Windows version, I like the way they are stacked The Windows version is superior to this one, so I cannot recommend this over it. Spending money that is not necessary. To install Sound Forge Audio Studio 10, for example, if you have only a Mac and do not have a Windows PC, you can use a virtual machine or Boot Camp to run Windows. In my experience, that version is reliable and works well. The software has a few minor bugs, but these do not hinder what I need to do, in a way the Mac version does not. I would give it three stars if I could The software is useful for a few things, but not for all. It doesn't matter how fast you are, performance is not an issue. There is no serial number in the Mac version of the software.
SF2 Mac is capable of so much, but it is still too buggy to set up and use consistently. This is a really good idea The latest version of Wave Editor is fast, clean, and powerful. It is better to edit a single audio file like a wave and not create a project file etc. I am trying out Adobe Audition to replace Reaper since I have an Adobe subscription, and SF2 is crashing when I try to normalize the audio file (!). The pros are Please note
There is a lot of power and access to the software under the hood (the interface is mostly so clean and minimalistic that you can do basic editing functions very quickly, when there is no lag) and I have hopes of keeping using even with the serious glaring issues. Wave editors that appear to be straightforward are, in reality, too simple in their A minimalistic interface but a lot of functionality is found in SFP Mac)
- Including the included Izotope plugins is a pretty good choice***Neutral Please note
While I find the automation/plugin chain interface to be a bit awkward to use, I don't necessarily find it much worse than other editors*- A new feature is added every six months to the software. Although they charged a lot for the upgrade to 2, it was worth it. However, there is very little information on new features, etc. You tend to just hold your breath that it will be fixed. Please note
An unstable situation. My normalization is currently crashing when I try to do it (!). (b) you send us a simple wave file. I will discuss this with support. This is very slow - Plugins can be opened by launching, opening, and opening audio files. It can take up to 10 seconds for some plugins The problem does not occur in any other audio program. The MacBook Pro 15 I'm using is a 2015 model. laggy performance hasn't always been this terrible, but it's been a problem for at least a year now and has occurred on multiple occasions. Please note
Plugin parameters can be difficult to control because they are buggy. The parameter values work ok on a whole, but some numbers are hard to enter with the mouse. I have also experienced weird parameter jumps in some cases. Please note
There's some odd stuff going on with the interface. (1) I have saved files to the wrong format several times since it does not default to the current format, but the last format you used. So if you create audio files and move to wav files, if you are not careful the new wav file will be saved They may have improved this recently so that at least when you check the command-s save box it uses the current format (I think), but if you check the "Save as" box it defaults to the old It would be helpful if you could check a box or give a warning. In my opinion, the current type should always be set by default. In addition to batch processing, they also offer As a result, I have unintentionally created lots of mp3 files. Please note
2) That's still causing me grief. When you select Sound Forge Pro Mac as "Open With" when you select a file on your desktop or in the finder, it does not show up in the list. The OS is acting like it is warning you to stay In iTunes for Mac, for example, I get "Itunes" as a default, followed by Adobe Audition, VLC, etc, but for SFP Mac I need to select "Others" and then locate it within my complete applications list. I want to be somewhat fair here. As Reaper, he does the same thing. A wav editor must have this function, but it is very basic! When I am using Reaper, I do not open any audio files from my It's your responsibility to include them in the project. I had already mentioned the last two to their support about.
Sound Forge has been part of my work for 20 years on PCs, but I moved to a powerful Mac Pro with Sound Forge 2 about 1 year ago. It has improved in many aspects A processing power, an interface, and a plug-in With SpectraLayers, a groundbreaking audio processing tool, and new audio component ins. It is unfortunate that both programs are bugged I ride a lot and crash often. The computer I use to work on audio is a clean and dedicated machine. It is not possible to use either program in a professional environment. If you're a hobbyist, try them out, but don't buy them yet. If you're a professional, watch these programs but don't buy them.
Sorry to hear that. I have been using Sound Forge and Sound Forge Audio Studio for many years on the PC, and this Mac version is a complete mess. Feeling remorse over this purchase and the years of brand loyalty I devoted to it. The removal of so many simple functions and features is shocking. I hate it.
A lot of people drop out of this program. There are a lot of frustrations involved. There's no way to compare it to the PC version when it comes to user-friendliness. EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT IT IS FREE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS program.
