Questions & Answers

Is there a Mac version?

Yes. No drivers are required because the device is USB compliant. Simply plug it in and start using it. And the sound quality is far superior to the headphone jack:

Is the system volume control on a Mac still functional, or is it set to line level? Is it possible to use the menu bar volume or the volume on the keyboard?

The volume of the system should be variable rather than constant. In most cases, the volumen will respond to both keyboard and desktop/screen controls.

Will this allow me to connect my MacBook to my Alesis M1Active 520 studio monitors?

Yes. It should be simple and quick to connect. Although the usb port is a little flimsy, and I wish all of the ports were on the same side, it connects my alienware computer to my monitors just fine.

Is this a boost (amplify) device or a straight line level output device?

No, it does not increase the signal strength. It's a line-level output from a USB connection. It's a great product that's also small and convenient to use. There's a green light to indicate that it's turned on, as well as two XLR outlets for stereo use.

Peavey doesn't think it's necessary to provide any details on
4/5

Because Peavey doesn't provide any information about the DAC, I opened mine up to see what was inside: a Texas Instruments PCM2705, which has an SNR of 98db and sample rates of 32, 44. 4 and 48 kHz are the two frequencies that can be used. This is a USB 1 that is no longer in use. The PCM2705C with USB 2 compliance has since been replaced as a USB 1 compliant device. br>br>The device itself performs admirably in terms of connecting studio monitors to my computer.

This rugged little box produces pristine audio with no hum! Anyone who wants to connect their laptop or computer to a sound system will appreciate this tool
5/5

It's especially useful in PA applications and church venues; I bought two of these for one of our church campuses, which uses one Macbook laptop for Pro Presenter worship slides and videos, and another laptop for our main campus's stream. I suggest getting rf choked USB cables, as I did: Radio frequency pick-up has been a problem in our audio lines, and the ferrite cobalt magnets reject rf. The USB-connected circuits have been transformed. P ensures that there are no ground loops, i. e. there will be no HUM! I put the units through their paces on my multimedia computer and discovered that they were USB-compatible. P to feed my jbl powered studio monitors with a clean, noise-free signal. Please keep in mind that because this device lacks ASIO drivers, it cannot be used with multitrack software. You'll notice that the sound crackles slightly. However, if you need to send clean stereo or mono sound from your computer to your sound system, the USB-C connector is the way to go. P Shines. I'd recommend it to others, and I'll most likely buy more in the future.

DAC is fantastic! My studio monitors (speakers) were giving me a hard time
5/5

I kept hearing a hissing noise, and I tried different cables, but the noise persisted. After doing some research, I discovered that I would require an interface. As a result of my research, I discovered this DAC. I decided to go for it because the price was reasonable. This is an excellent digital audio converter. br>br> I was able to eliminate my issue. Moreover, it appears to be excellent.

Whine loudly in the background? Is there a conflict here? Look no further, this baby is the most incredible piece of computer audio! I tried countless cables, lifters, ground plugs, isolated transformers, resistors, and amplifiers to get the squeal or computer hum out of my speakers
5/5

Then this gem, and I mean gem, appeared, and I decided to give it a shot. GOD BLESS ME, I DID IT! Chrystal clear audio with no hum, even at maximum volume, solved all of my audio issues. It's rare that I come across a well-made item, but this one is well-made and works flawlessly. I'm impressed, and I'll tell any PC streamer or gamer I know about it! br>br>It doesn't include a USB A- port. B cable. I also used XLR-connectors in my setup. > TRS cables that are balanced br>br>Thank you for producing such a high-quality product!br>br>I'm about to purchase my second one!.

It has a great sound and is very easy to use
5/5

I really like it. We were listening to Mainstage through the headphone jack on our MacBook Air and, obviously, the onboard DAC was never meant to be used like that—it distorted if you raised the When I plugged this thing in, it sounded instantly better. There are no drivers to install; simply plug it in and select it as the output for Mainstage or whatever program you're using. It's super easy to use, and I like that you can use it in either mono or stereo mode. The most effective way to ensure good sound and reclaim some mixer headroom. Just make sure you get a USB cable that is long enough.

The sound quality is excellent
5/5

With PI and Mac, there is no problem at all. After much frustration with "cheap" USB devices (which crackle and lose their minds on a regular basis), I decided to invest in one of these to use with my Mac and Raspberry PI for music playback. If you have a few spare XLR inputs and don't require a full-featured mixer, this is the option for you. This unit performs admirably as a recording interface - The USB Audio DAC is automatically recognized, and it appears to be unaffected by the level mismatch issues that plague other low-cost devices. While having a larger interface than the Raspberry PI may seem silly, if I were building a "bulletproof music system" (and XLR was available), this would be my first choice. Please be aware- Because it lacks TRS outputs, connecting it to your mixer/amps may be a challenge. Enjoy!.

There is no more hiss, and the sound is crystal clear
5/5

Pros:
- It has a high quality feel to it. br>- My studio monitors are no longer hissing when connected to the line out of my motherboard. br>- SOUNDS EXTREMELY CLEAR!
- a size that will fit on my desktopbr>- The design is simple and plug-and-play (no software or drivers are required). )br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are some disadvantages to using this product.
- The lack of a USB cable was not a deal breaker for me. br>br> I have a lot of those guys lying around. But, if you're going to order this, make sure to include a cable if you don't already have one!.

Gain is a prerequisite
3/5

Although this is a good unit, it is limited by its low output gain and lack of gain control. It's ideal if you're feeding it into something that can boost gain, but it's less useful in a line-level balanced chain with just the OS system volume. br>br>You're going to need gain somewhere, and this isn't it. There are no drivers available to help with this because it relies on the default USB sound card drivers. br>br>Peavey, all you have to do now is adjust the gain. It's even possible to do it in a small hidden pot to maintain the unit's tough design.
