There is no volume knob on an amplifier to set up properly rather, your receiver controls the You can set the gain by turning those If you are going for maximum volume and sound, turn the gain knobs up to about 80% of the receiver's volume and then crank the speaker up. Increased distortion is experienced by speakers when using the gain knobs for volume. I have a receiver that has a dedicated sub output and a 3-channel EQ/crossover. After that, it runs to three amplifying units. method of setting up my receiver and amp is I have the receiver at 80% maximum volume, then I adjust my EQ gain on it with the meter for maximum volume without clipping EQ, then I move onto the amplifier. In addition to my sub amp, both of my other two models have gains between 12 and 22. It doesn't matter how high you crank the gain, because the peak amp power is not affected. The volume knobs on those aren't for volume.
There is no way the RPA16 can be used with a 2Ohm RPA amplifiers have an impedance match of 4 and 8 ohms. The best thing to do if this is your amp is to hook two Buttkickers in series and then only run the amp at half or less power.
It really works well wirelessly. I got a $20 bluetooth transmitter.
Selected User Reviews For Rockville 5000 Watt Peak / 1400w RMS 2 Channel Power Amplifier Pro/DJ Amp (RPA12)
My home theater is powered by this amplifier, a Rockville RPA12, driving a Dayton UM18-P In place of a Rockville RPA9, a 22 18" sub is housed in a 15 cubic foot sealed box. There is much more power in the RPA 12 than in As a result, a signal amplifier was needed to boost the RP9's output. A RPA12 could be had for less than the price of a RPA9 + a signal amplifier or preamplifier. I use the RPA12 with the sub output from my Denon HT receiver, and it works fine It is not necessary to use a signal amp. Furthermore, it makes the 18" driver of the Dayton go fast. There is a lot of power in the low notes, and bass is clean. Additionally, the seller was highly efficient in communicating with him. I have edited to add that the amplifier has a subsonic filter, which was not mentioned in the The crossover switch is on the back, and the subsonic filters are activated when the switch is in Full Range position, preventing subsonic frequencies from reaching the speakers. By default, the filter is switched on at 160 hz set it to 80 hz to turn off the subsonic filter. This will let you hear the deepest bass characteristics. I give you an A+!.
The only way to make this do over 400 watts at 8 ohms will be to drive both channels at the same time. Runs near 100C after clipping and running. This is very frustrating. I expected that the output would be lower than what they state, but it's much lower than anything they claim. This can run up to 465 watts into 8ohms. **EDIT******Also, more testing has shown that the max voltage on a single channel is 62V. As you can see, the specifications are a joke from the start.
I did some quick testing with different inputs. maximum power that this thing can deliver is 375 W RMS into an 8 Ohm load before it clips off. An amp over 100 degrees was measured during this test. When I get a chance, I will test a 2 ohm load, but at this point I am eager to force Rockville to refund my money. The subwoofer specs that Rockville is falsely claiming are a reason why the company is being sued. The buyer should have done more research before making the purchase.
The amp blows the roof off. With my behringer eq hooked up to it, I have it in my rack. I use it for powering my Rockville 12s and another amp for my 10s as well as the $900 QSC amplifier I use for my 18 Rockville subs. The Rockville performs just as well as my QSC, in my opinion. If anything were to happen to my QSC, I would not hesitate to make the swap. When the amp is paired up with a good crossover or EQ, it will perform as you wish. Over 13,000 watts of power are in my rack. This amp was a nice addition to that power. There has not been any disappointment with Rockville. It seems that if properly hooked up and tuned, their stuff is better than the other ones. I was sceptical about the price, but I compared side by side. The system I use for DJing and block parties in New Orleans is set up for these tasks. A number of blocks are swayed by the motion. The power I have to keep my sound clean is way more than what I need. In addition, if more speakers are needed, they can also be added easily. Many times a week, the device gets used regularly.
It was a bit hard to choose between the two, as each was pushing the DIY Ultimax 18's sub-image height There are subwoofers. With the 22" sub pushed to maximum excursion by the RPA12, the 18" is pushed When I put the volume up more than the 10 o'clock position (just past 25 percent), I cannot bridge the amp. The RPA12's are worth every penny. One more thing, even with the amp pushing the 18" woofer to reference/THX levels and watching two movies in a row, neither woofer fan ever came on and neither fan ever went above 96 degrees. Excellent for amplification to a pre-amp in a home theater It is important to run some passive subwoofers either out front or behind the speakers. In a perfect world, I would have rated them higher. I want to close by saying one final A Crown amp can stink it up! A Beringer amp can SUCK it up!.
I'm so amazed at the power of this amp. They offered me a package deal including this amp with a set of speakers which both had 2 15-inch speakers, horn, The 15inch speakers I purchased were to large for the area where I wanted to put them. So, I got the same model and name band speakers except for the fact that there was just one 15inch speaker available. Furthermore, I cannot increase my amplifier at even half full power without it shaking the walls. It has been a great experience for me.
My intent was to power a 15 inch Subwoofer using my Behringer B1500D I couldn't repair the amp after it failed, as there were no parts available. I believe it would cost about as much to send it out as In the process of testing it, I set up the RPA12 to ensure that there were no defects, so far so good. I have not really used it for any long term, I would have waited, but the costs keep fluctuating, so I grabbed it for As I am using it at 160Hz, it is bridged. From the AUX 1 Send of my mixer, I'm feeding it. If you fade down the input to the subwoofer and listen to the speaker output, there is no sound coming from the Subwoofer. Should I encounter any issues, I will make sure to update my.
It was a little concerning to see some reviews mention fan noise, and so I would say there is a bit of fan noise. But it is not noticeable once the game is played. Since I've been using it for a while now, the volume has been set pretty low because it's a bit overkill for my setup. I enjoy how easy it is to move the knob, and that I can easily over adjust. Other than that, I love how well it has worked for me.
