Questions & Answers

Is this a battery-powered device or one that can be plugged in?

There are no batteries in this unit; it runs on AC only. This is a fantastic first amplifier.

Would I be better off using this as a practice amp or could I use it with my electric piano/synth during a small gig?

It could be useful as a stage monitor. My recommendation is the Kustom PA50, which has a longer range and more power.

Is it a heavy or a light weight?

It's a very light weight. Moving around is simple. However, it is not excessively loud. I had this for about 9 months before it died; it sounded like I was constantly using a serious distortion pedal, so I had to replace it. It is, however, light.

What kind of cable is required to use the BEHRINGER ULTRAVOICE XM8500?

XLR to 1/4" phone jack converter.

a teeny-tiny amp My kid drummer will love it
5/5

Let's just say he'll play it a little louder than I'd like. His electric drums can be heard clearly at 2/3 volume. br>br>Does it hammer bass? No. No, it does not sound like it is ready for a concert. But. It's PERFECT for him and his home. He's not going to be playing any shows with his own sound anytime soon. That's not to say it couldn't do it if it had to; with good volume control from all members of the band, it probably could. It's just not designed for that; it's a simple practice amp that wasn't even designed for drums to begin with.

This amp has a lot of features that I really like
5/5

I've been playing guitar for a long time, and this is by far the best amp I've ever used. It has a powerful overdrive (which I adore) as well as a crisp clean setting! I strongly suggest it; it's an excellent value for the money!.

This is an excellent little amplifier
5/5

This amp is a fantastic value for money. We use it as a monitor for an electronic keyboard, and we have to be careful with the volume controls (both the amp and the keyboard have them) in our setup or we get some buzz. However, if we take care, the sound will be clear and crisp. It's exactly what we wanted.

I was surprised by how much I got
5/5

This was not what I expected. It's much, much smaller than I had anticipated. It's half the size of my 15w Crate lead amp with reverb, but without the reverb. It makes up for its lack of size with pure volume and sound. I got no response from this bad boy when I was fully cranked. It was loud enough that even my son's four-piece real drum kit couldn't drown it out. In his room, we'd be safe jamming out songs. This amplifier is inexpensive and ideal for practicing. You won't be able to play it in clubs, but it'll suffice for a small gathering. Although the clean channel is a little quieter, the sound quality is still excellent. Overdrive is crunchy and filthy enough for rock, harmonics, and whatever else you can think of. For the price, you can't go wrong with this small amp.

Crackles in the volume
3/5

Well, I got it as a Christmas present for myself and immediately opened it to test it out. You're aware of how things are manufactured these days. Anyway, I turned it on and noticed that the volume was a little low, so I turned it up to about 8 and began strumming hard on my guitar, which caused it to crackle, but it seemed to stay at a high volume for a while before shorting out to a low volume. Back and forth it went. It could be a faulty volume switch or an issue with the controls themselves. Give me a break, Pyle produces some excellent products, but this was absurd. I printed out a return label and placed it in the mail with UPS. Amazon is sending me another, but it won't arrive until after Christmas. I'll see what happens with this one. I'll give it another rating after that. I decided to cancel the 20Watt order, and Amazon promptly refunded my money, so I went ahead and ordered the 30 Watt for a little more. MAN, was it worth the trouble. This tiny device emits a terrifying amount of noise. I absolutely adore it!.

For fitness classes, this is a fantastic music-playing amp
5/5

This is an excellent little amp. My wife had an old guitar amplifier that she had been using to play music for her various fitness classes for years. I had previously replaced the speaker in it, but it recently went out again, so I decided to try this. So far, everything has gone well! This amplifier is ideal for use as a small public address speaker, guitar amplifier, or music player. Other reviews stated that it should not be used at more than 1/4 volume, but this has not been an issue for her so far because she uses it at 1/2 to 2/3 volume most of the time.

The amp is just right
5/5

This thing emits a great deal of noise. I've owned much larger amps, and unless you're going on stage, I don't see the point in owning anything larger than this unless you're going to play them uncomfortably loud indoors.

The sound is of good quality, and the construction is solid
5/5

I was able to connect my recently purchased bass guitar with ease. It has simple controls that let you dial in the perfect tone for your guitar, bass guitar, or other electric string instrument.
