Despite the fact that many of Shure's products are assembled in other countries, the company maintains a high level of quality. Since the early 1970s, I've relied on the SM58. It's a dependable mic.

My shure beta 58 was submerged in saltwater for hours after my truck was damaged at the beach. Even after that, the microphone performed admirably. I simply took it apart, rinsed it, dried it, and put it back together. br>A Shure SM-2000 is an excellent choice. 57, 58, or beta 58 are some of the possible combinations. br>Excellent performance and extremely tough.
It was the cord, not the microphone, that caused the problem. I used a different mic cord with the microphone and it worked fine. I'm not sure how or if it's even possible to get Amazon to repair or replace the cord. I attempted to use the return route, but it was unavailable. According to the label, the cord is covered by a lifetime warranty, which is useless if the warranty can't be honored.
It's a Shure, and it's a good one at that. However, make certain you get one with a switch. The cord is solid and a good combination, which I missed.
Excellent quality, and my husband was very pleased with his Father's Day gift.
These are extremely durable; my previous one was dipped in koolaid and stomped on, and it still worked perfectly.
