All I know is what my ears hear coming from the amp, as well as the response I get from the microphone. br>br>The body of this microphone has a nice feel to it. I prefer the on/off switch (some people don't), because it allows me to turn it off in the event of unexpected background noise. Because of the pickup distance, it can be used as a close-up or a long-range camera. For a guitar/voice solo, use a proximity voice mike or a stand (you'll need to crank the amp a little to get more distance). br>br>In terms of technology, I'm not convinced it's the best microphone ever made. However, I am very happy with the sound reproduction's handling, response, and quality. I believe it is unbeatable for the price. There is no need for a phantom power supply; If your amplifier has an XLR input, this simply plugs in and you're good to go.
The vocals have a nice warm, full sound to them. My Shures aren't as good as yours. br>br>I've experimented with a variety of other import microphones, both cheap and expensive, with varying results. It's nice to have a name brand associated with this one, and the sound quality is excellent for the price. We'll see how it holds up in the long run. The on/off switch is a little flimsy, and I'm not a big fan of on/off switches in the first place. However, for the time being, that is a minor gripe.
For our nursing home visits, we needed an additional good but affordable microphone. I decided to give this one a try after reading all of the reviews multiple times. It has an on/off switch, which I like. The audio quality is excellent. It's a great match for the Fender portable PA system. The price is unbeatable, especially since the cable is included. The stand holder was broken, which was the only drawback. I have not yet contacted the company to see if a replacement will be sent. This mic comes highly recommended by me.
It's always nice to have extras of these. We're on our third one, and we're really enjoying it. Sure, there are better microphones, but if you don't treat them gently, they will break. This little unit can withstand the abuse of being on the road every week and still sound fantastic.
This is a great deal. The mic looks great, works well, and sounds great; it's also reasonably priced, especially with the included xlr cable and mic mount. These are used for announcements in a house of worship, and if properly cared for, they can last for years. Cardiod pickup reduces feedback, and the integrated switch is extremely useful, as is the built-in pop filter, which makes it almost pop-proof. br>Excellent microphone.
If you're like me and can't sing, it doesn't matter what mic you have, and I wasn't about to spend the money on a Shure SM58 when I could get four of these for the same price. I've used this mic with a Behringer Xenyx 802 and currently with a Yamaha MG06X, and it sounded great to me and everyone else who used it.
