How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

Clean, instrumental reproduction and rich vocal pickup are made possible by a contoured frequency response.
For drum, percussion, and instrument amplifier miking, professional-quality reproduction is required.
The main sound source is isolated while background noise is reduced thanks to a uniform cardioid pickup pattern.
The use of a pneumatic shock-mount system reduces handling noise.
Extremely long-lasting even when subjected to the harshest conditions

Questions & Answers

If I can get my hands on a USB stick, I'll let you know. the- Will I still need an audio interface if I use it as a recorder?

This microphone is compatible with a USB converter. The external mic was detected by the computer.

Is it manufactured in the European Economic Union or in Mexico?

Mine says it was made in Mexico.

Is this suitable for recording brass instruments such as trombones or French horns, as well as trumpets? What is the difference between it and the SM- ?

Neither of these is ideal for brass. Consider 57s and 58s to be excellent general-purpose microphones. They do not have any superpowers. With the exception of close-up photography, excel at anything. Increase the volume of vocals and drums, and use a condenser mic for brass instruments.

I'm looking for advice on how to record a talking drum. ?

I'd go with a condenser mic with a small diaphragm.

With the A81WS foam, it's an amazing microphone for voice! I'm at a loss for words
5/5

It has a VERY rich sound with my settings! To be honest, it sounds a lot like a Shure SM7B, but the foam I'm using is likely to play a bigger role because it "moves" the capsule to the same relative location under foam as the 7B does. Their capsules are nearly identical, but unless you're in a professional studio, the difference isn't significant enough if you're using the mic in bandwidth-constrained environments like streaming, Discord, or uploading to YouTube. If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be. Try out my settings if you're looking for a male voice. If your hardware/software is different, play around with it. The frequency response of this microphone is fairly flat, making calibration a breeze! **Hardware Setupbr>- br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> br>This mic is mounted on a shock mount with A81WS foam (Wasn't designed to be used with the SM57, but with a little tweaking, it'll work! )br>br>Fethead preamp (CloudLifter can also work)br>br>Yamaha MG10XU mixer with 80Hz HPF switch on, Gain set to 9 o'clock, Compressor off (Hardware compressor is not good for noise isolation. )br>br>Yamaha MG10XU mixer with 80Hz HPF switch on, Gain set to 9 o'clock, Compressor off (Hard It's much better to do it in software after you've already applied noise suppression), HIGH EQ 10kHz at 1 o'clock, MID EQ 2. It's great for speaking, and it's also long-lasting
5/5

We bought two Shure SM-100 microphones. A total of 57 microphones are available for use in business meetings. The SM- The 57 is often praised as a fantastic microphone for musical instruments, but we're using it for podium speakers. We hold meetings three times a year in hotels and wanted to invest in reliable equipment so that we could be sure we'd be using a good sound system every time. The SM- is the model we went with. Due to its durability and sound quality, the 57 microphone was chosen. br>br>Durability is a term that is used to describe how long something will last. The SM- 57 is known for its toughness, and despite the fact that we've only had the microphone for a year, it hasn't been abused in any way. It's actually kept in a cardboard box and moved around quite a bit. So far, neither of our SM-equipped vehicles has been able to match the performance of our SM-equipped We have had no issues with 57s. br>br>Quality of sound – The SM-type is what we use here. The 57 is used exclusively as a podium mic and a floor standing mic. I can't comment on how it sounds when you sing into it because it's only used for the spoken voice. It has a good sensitivity and does not color the sound of the person speaking. Although there are more sensitive microphones available, this one performs admirably. I understand why the President of the United States has been using this microphone for decades. It has a track record of success. br>br>Overall, I'd suggest the Shure SM-. Anyone can use the number 57 as a podium microphone.

Native American flute, acoustic guitar and harmonica This microphone's quality is outstanding in terms of my requirements. He also has a good, solid build. There's a reason why this mic is the most popular in the world
5/5

If you need to buy a microphone, the sm57 and sm58 are industry standard recording mics. The SM57s and 58s have been used to record a lot of great songs, so if it worked for them, it will work for you. Don't go for anything less than these, or you'll be back here buying a shure in no time. If you only have money to spend on a microphone, I'd recommend the sm57. They're also bulletproof; you could drop these things down the stairs and hit them with your car and they'd still sound great. Shure is a brand that is synonymous with excellence.

A wonderful vintage microphone
5/5

The SM57 is a classic, and professionals all over the world use it. I purchased mine with the intention of using them on a drum kit, and they sound fantastic on the snare and toms.

There's a reason why it's called Studio Standard
5/5

I've been looking for microphones for the past two weeks. I'm looking at specifications, frequency response charts, and everything else. There are so many options that when a friend says, "the mic can't change what it's hearing," BAM! I chose the studio standard and was pleasantly surprised by what the mic picked up. lol I'm using it to record my old Yamaha FG-80 synthesizer. 335, and I'm blown away by how well it captures the richness of this stunning 40-year-old instrument. Now if only I could get it to be a little more forgiving of my sloppy play!.

Congas and vocals both benefit from these mics
5/5

Of course, these are the workhorse mics that the pros have relied on for years. Percussion, vocals, and guitars work well together. I also use one when I play soprano sax because it complements that instrument well. They are well worth the money and are extremely durable; I dropped one and it continued to function normally. These mics also have excellent sound quality.

There's a reason why it's legendary
5/5

I'd heard about how good this microphone was for years, but I already had an instrument mic from another manufacturer that I didn't want to replace. In fact, until you use an SM57, you might not realize how good a sound your amp can produce. There are probably better brands/mics out there, but for the money, you can't go wrong with this.
