Selected User Reviews For Kawai ES920 88-key Digital Piano - Black
This is a poor action! It's difficult to find a better piano sound sample than the one in SK Grand. There is no doubt that this is one of the best piano samples available for portable digital pianos. The RHIII action, however, appears to have a strange glitch. A part of it has to do with the "let off" or Although this is not something that a novice would even notice, it does have an unrealistic feel to it. In the case of very soft dynamics, it leads to unrealistic responses. It may have been for this reason why NORD excluded the escapement feature when it purchased the RHIII from Kawai. In my opinion, I can now see why NORD acted as they did. It's no secret that there is something strange about Kawai's RH3 action, especially if you are a very skilled jazz or classical pianist. You will have a problem with it. I am sorry, because the ES920 is fantastic in every other way. This "gummy" issue with the let off needs to be addressed by Kawai by redesigning the RH3. A few people have complained about the sound of the action and the bounce in In neither case did I find them to be distracting. Moreover, this is not sounding like an acoustic grand piano of any quality.
had been on the lookout for a piano like this for months and was thrilled to discover one that was When I use headphones, I hear something that is incredible. I live in an apartment with a lot of significant noise concerns. As for the key action - I like it too. When compared to other digital pianos I've played in the past, this one feels great. If you read the manual, you won't be surprised to discover that the speakers sound garbled and crackle all over the keyboard - what you didn't expect to find out at all is that the speakers are built into the unit. In my case, I had the chance to play unplugged when I finally had a chance to do so. The warranty service from Kawai will be interesting to see, I guess.
There is no denying the importance of keyboard action. I am very pleased with this.
