Questions & Answers

Should I get a dreadnaught or a concert-sized guitar as a beginner?

It all boils down to your size and level of comfort. The body of a concert size will be smaller than that of a dreadnaught. Thank you for your interest in Y2PLAY! 800- 695- 4808

What is the difference between acoustic electric and acoustic? Is the sound suitable for both acoustic and electrical applications?

The cutaway on the acoustic/electric guitar allows for easier access to the upper frets. Apart from that, there are no structural differences, and the tone will be very similar to that of an acoustic guitar. FG800 is the only option. (Changing picks would have a greater impact!)

What kind of strings would be appropriate for this guitar?

D'Addario EJ16 (phosphor bronze) light strings are a good choice for me. On this large sloped-back speaker, there is plenty of bass and midrange. If you have a shoulder dreadnought guitar, 80/20 strings or Martin Retro will probably work well.

Is it necessary to tune this guitar on a regular basis or does it stay in tune?

It's a less expensive guitar, but it's one of my favorites. the sound and the sensation I'd say it's fairly consistent in terms of tuning. My guitar has a clip-on tuner, and it's a fantastic instrument!

DO NOT FORGET TO STRETCH THE STRINGS! This is a fantastic guitar
4/5

Okay, I have no complaints, $150 well spent. The only thing to remember is that they do not stretch the strings, so you must stretch the strings yourself when you receive the guitar and tune it. I didn't realize this and was getting bad buzzing from my E string, but after realizing the strings were not stretched, I stretched and re-tuned it. The guitar sounds 100 times better now that it's been tuned! I just thought I'd throw that out there for the rest of you to see.

Right out of the box, this game is fun to play
5/5

Because I'm not a very accomplished guitarist, I can't promise that this guitar will impress a true connoisseur. I did, however, do some research and discovered that this is a well-liked instrument. I can confirm that it sounds great after three days of extensive testing. Furthermore, I was able to play it right out of the box, with no additional "set up" than what it had at the factory. I may look into what a luthier could do to improve the action and intonation in the future, but for now, I'm happy with the action and intonation. The guitar stays in tune, has no buzzing frets, and intones reasonably accurately all the way down the fretboard (within a few cents sometimes). It's reasonably priced (in comparison), attractive, pleasant to listen to, and of high quality. I'm content with myself. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I can't say enough good things about the guitar after owning it for 8 months and playing it for hours every week. It has a great sound, is a great size, and maintains its tuning over time. After a few months of use, I decided to replace the original strings with lighter gauge strings. The guitar's playability was maintained, and the tone was excellent (though slightly altered due to the lighter strings). br> Now that I've had more experience with acoustic guitars, I can say that the neck is very comfortable to play. That is, of course, a matter of personal preference, but as a newbie, I found it to be very simple to use almost immediately. There will be no second chances: This is a fantastic instrument.

Fine craftsmanship, excellent design, and exceptional value
5/5

I bought this to replace my 15-year-old acoustic guitar. The purchase has exceeded my expectations. There are no gaps in the construction and there is no excess glue around the joints. The solid sitka spruce top is an appealing feature at any price point, let alone $200. The DG800's aesthetics are simple, and the design on the head stock is painted, so it will rub off over time; however, this has no bearing on the overall fit and finish of the guitar, which are both excellent for a guitar of this price range. br>br>The design of this guitar is one of its most appealing features. It's easy to play while standing because the instrument is light and has a good neck-body balance. The neck is the most important part of the body. The neck has a matte finish that makes playing very smooth even with sweaty hands, and it has a compound neck profile. The neck is fairly thin and flat closer to the body, which makes barre chords and individual notes comfortable to play. As you get closer to the head, the shape becomes a deeper rounded rectangle that fits comfortably in the hand and provides excellent comfort and support when playing open chords. I can't express how easy and enjoyable it is to play this neck. It looks nothing like my previous acoustic, which had a more U-shaped profile. br>br>All of the above adds to the instrument's excellent sound. The bass is lively, and the treble is crisp and pleasant. This is a fantastic value because of the entire package. This guitar, in my opinion, is the best value for money because of its neck design. In terms of sound, fit, and design, this guitar easily outperforms instruments that are $500 more expensive. If you're looking for a low-cost acoustic guitar, this should be at the top of your list.

For new players, this game is fantastic
5/5

I only got this guitar a few months ago, and not knowing much about guitars or quality, I did a lot of research to figure out what would be the best purchase for a beginner guitarist at a reasonable price. I did a little more research, comparing instruments and such to make sure I didn't buy something made out of cardboard and shoe strings, and I came across the Yamaha FG800, which was said to be an upgrade of the 700, and it received fantastic reviews and ratings for beginners with great overall quality and overall sound, especially for the price. I did a little more research, comparing instruments and such to make sure I didn't buy something made out of cardboard and shoe strings, and I stumbled upon the Yamaha FG800 I did some research and discovered that, while it didn't have as many reviews, it was said to have better sound and durability for the same price, so I went with my gut and bought this guitar. Knowing that Yamaha has always been of high quality, I trusted my instincts and bought this guitar. It sounds amazing, and it's simple to pick up and play. I've only been playing for a month and already have two songs memorized of my own choosing and taste; I don't know much about guitars, but I'll tell anyone who cares and reads this review that it was a good buy and a good experience; there are no complaints; it sounds and looks beautiful in my eyes. I gave it five stars and have spoken about it with others.

For an entry level acoustic guitar, this is a very nice product
5/5

It both looks and sounds very nice. If you're a beginner, like me, it's critical to have this guitar set up by a professional. If you're new to guitar, the factory action is quite high, which can be frustrating. The addition of new strings, as well as lowering the bridge and filing the nut, completely transforms the instrument and makes it much easier to play.
