The Yamaha FG800 Folk Acoustic Guitar is a low-cost entry-level acoustic guitar with a top made of solid Sitka spruce, one of the most popular tonewoods.

This gives you a nice mellow tone with a slower response while keeping the guitar light and portable, which is ideal for a beginner learning the ropes of the instrument.

The nato back and sides also help to keep the guitar light and affordable without sacrificing tone.

Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black and white body binding, die-cast tuners, and a tortoise pickguard are among the other features of the FG800.

What year did this guitar come out? thx. ?

Since 1966, there's been a guitar tag. There is no indication of when the item was made. Having said that, the guitar was in excellent condition when it arrived and plays beautifully. This guitar is in excellent condition. It's one of my favorite instruments to play because it requires very little tuning. For the price, this is a fantastic guitar.

Is the satin on the neck and back non-removable? Is it possible to get a gloss finish?

The neck has a matte finish. However, for the price, the body has a fantastic finish, and the smell when I open the box is incredible. It had a fantastic gloss finish. It smelled fresh, as if the guitar's finish had just been applied.

I'm curious about the origins of the guitar. ?

It's made in China, just like so many other manufactured goods in the United States.

Can this guitar be fitted with a strap?

No, I don't think so. There isn't a strap peg at the bottom of the guitar. You might want to include these pegs. I'm not sure what their scientific name is. For myself, I wouldn't do it because I prefer to play guitar while sitting in a chair or on a park bench. I suppose having a strap would be useful if you were leaning over to grab something, such as a drink, so you didn't drop your guitar. But if I need to reach for something or get up, I simply set it down gently. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable playing the guitar while standing up. However, if you want to play standing up, you'll need a strap.

This guitar is ideal for a 'beginner'

This is my second guitar, and I'm really pleased with it. Because it was so difficult to play, I never learned to play my first it. . . . . . . implying that it was not in good condition. built, but it never stayed in tune, causing my fingers to hurt. As a result, I became frustrated and never learned how to play the instrument. That first guitar sat in my closet, gathering dust. br>br>In 2021, I finally decided to take guitar lessons for the first time, using the old guitar. With aching fingers from my first lesson, I decided to get a better guitar that night! Almost every online review pointed me in the direction of the Yamaha FG800. I'm relieved that I was able to acquire it. It's simple to play, sounds great, and is well constructed!.

All of the online reviews are accurate; if you are new to guitar, as I am, this is the ideal instrument for you. br>br>Excellent sound, weight, and feel. Overall, a great guitar. I don't believe you can beat this price; there are some other less expensive guitars with high ratings out there, and they certainly sound cheap. This is in no way true.

I'm a novice who has been a novice for nearly 40 years. This appears to be it. It arrived ahead of schedule, with lightning-fast shipping and well-protected packaging. I was disappointed that it didn't come with a case at first, but I'm glad it didn't. I bought a stand, and now I have a lovely piece of art on display, and I find that when it's in the stand, I tend to pick it up on a daily basis. I am extremely happy.

I want to continue learning and keep my mind active in retirement, and I'm sick of crossword puzzles! This Yamaha FG800 is ideal for my needs and comes at a reasonable price. It sounds great and stays in tune. I really like the aged look of it. What a lovely instrument!.

I was apprehensive about purchasing a guitar online, but I took a chance and am glad I did. I admire those who contributed to the Guitar's packaging. Outstanding work. I've been learning guitar in quarantine, and with my cheap beginner guitar, I've gotten a little better. This is a great step up from my beginner guitar to intermediate guitar. This guitar is stunning to look at and even more stunning to play.
