Questions & Answers

Is the top of the table made entirely of spruce?

No, you must laminate.

I'm curious about the manufacturing location of this guitar. What is the reason for the lack of feedback?

Hello, Robert, that model is made in China. I'm not sure why it hasn't received any feedback - People who have purchased them, like so many other items on Amazon, have simply not written reviews for whatever reason.

Could you please confirm the width of this?

The nut has a 52mm width. If that's too big, try R138SN- L, with a nut width of 48mm; R139MN- At the nut, the L measures 50mm. All of these model numbers are leftys from Ortega Guitars; simply type the model number into the Amazon search box to see what's available.

Is there a lot of action or just a little bit of action? Is this flamenco guitar suitable?

To accommodate most players, nylon string guitars will come standard with a higher action. Individual preferences can be accommodated by having the strings set with lower action, either by you or by a guitar tech. When it comes to classical guitars, high action is usually desired. Flamenco players prefer lower action because it produces a more resonant sound.

I was hoping to fall in love with it
3/5

I received this guitar today; it is my second classical guitar; I previously owned a Yamaha C40 and had no problems with it, and this guitar appeared to be a lovely instrument with its matte finish, truss rod, and low price. br>br>In conclusion, the Low E string is useless. I wasted a new set of strings and adjusted the truss rod, but the problem is that the action on the low E and B strings, at least on the one I received, was set in such a way that it buzzed horribly. br>br>The one I got was also kind of "open box," in that the item appeared to be brand new with tags and everything, but the tape was slashed, indicating that it had been returned due to a defect and Amazon relisted it, but only God knows. br>br>It's a lovely guitar, and it didn't sound bad, but I wouldn't deal with this level of buzz and paying a luthier/tech to figure out why it's buzzing when it's a brand new guitar; there goes a set of new D'Addario strings for $18, which couldn't fix the buzzing.

The game is simple to play, but the quality control in the manufacturing process is lacking
3/5

I gave this guitar a 2-star rating reluctantly. If I didn't know any better, I'd give it a one-star rating. I've now purchased my second Ortega R122SN. I bought the first one from a guitar store in Phoenix, Arizona, and I immediately fell in love with it. It's simple to play, sounds great, and I don't have to worry about losing it (unlike my $5000 custom-made guitar). I have a custom-made guitar that I keep in its case when I'm not playing it). This one, on the other hand, I bought on Amazon while on a year-long assignment away from home. What an embarrassment! First and foremost, the frets are a nightmare! The metal appears to have been cut and installed without any attempt to file down the edges. Yes, there is a sharp edge on every fret! I had to buy a set of fine metal files and file each fret one by one by hand. Second, the wood has an unattractive finish. Some areas are simply rough to the touch. "You guys have some serious quality control issues that you need to address!" says the message to the manufacturer. " I'll keep the guitar for the duration of my assignment, and when I'm done, I'll donate it to the local Goodwill store. ".

For the money, this is a fantastic 3/4 guitar
5/5

I've been playing classical guitar for 50 years and bought this 3/4-size guitar to give my old hands a more comfortable stretch. This guitar, designed in Germany and manufactured in China, is as close to perfect as you could reasonably expect in terms of appearance and construction, and the deluxe padded bag is also very nice. I've never owned a classical guitar with an adjustable truss rod in the neck, which is a big plus in my opinion. The instrument's bass response is my only gripe with it. I experimented with different American-style dishes. D'Addario strings were made, but they didn't help much. The bass response may improve with time, but for now, I prefer the overall sound of my comparably-priced guitar. 3/4 Yamaha guitar, designed in Japan and manufactured in Indonesia, at a reasonable price. The Ortega guitar, on the other hand, is a clear winner in terms of build quality and appearance, as well as being a great value.

Ortega in a classic 3/4 size
5/5

I also have two Yamaha acoustic and acoustic electric guitars in 3/4 size: I expected this instrument to be similar in size to my Yamaha 3/4s; the body is larger, but the nut is 45 mm, which is no wider than my Yamaha 3/4s; it just appeared wider. Although it has a truss rod, I'm not sure I'd use steel strings on it; The fret wires are brass or bronze in color, and if they were not made of a harder metal, they would quickly wear out. It's well-made with a nice wood choice. I looked around the sound hole and the old spit test for laminations, but I couldn't find any. I believe it to be solid spruce. Please accept my apologies for the negative review I left previously.

The Guitar of My Dreams This guitar is exactly what I've been looking for
5/5

Excellent nut width, right size (7/8 or OM), and fantastic gig bag at a great price! One of the things people didn't like about this guitar, according to the reviews I read, was its "volume. " So, how about it? Who needs a guitar with a lot of volume for someone like me who only wants to play for herself or a small group? Not me. This is the ideal guitar for me. (I went through a lot of them, including a Takamini. ) ) Many thanks to the Ortega family for creating such an incredible instrument!.

It's fine, but it's quite expensive
3/5

I received the product, but it didn't strike me as particularly appealing. I ordered it left-handed, but I still couldn't figure out how to use it. As a result of the noise and learning difficulties, he was returned. A return fee was also added to my bill. That is something to be aware of. The customer service was satisfactory.

BUT, it's a lovely instrument
3/5

When I first strummed this instrument, I was so disappointed. It had a dull, muffled tone and lacked a crisp tone/sound. I now use a baritone ukulele, which gives me a lot more range and fullness. Granted, this is a small nylon/classical guitar, as far as I can tell. I wasn't expecting a booming volume, but I did expect some sort of full range tone/SOUND. I'd also like to point out that this 1/4-size guitar is advertised as having a truss rod. That is not the case. One thing I must say is that it is a very well-made little guitar, with a high-quality case. As I previously stated, it's a huge letdown. Ortega simply did not meet my expectations.

At a reasonable price, a high-quality structure can be built
4/5

There aren't a lot of affordable left-handed options. This guitar not only has a good build quality for the price, but it also comes with a case. The case is black and has thick spongy walls, making it ideal for those who are heavy-handed or careless with their instruments, as well as anyone else. It has a couple of pockets and is designed to be tight rather than loose. br>br>Both visually and sonically, the guitar has a very vibrant color. The brand is, understandably, entry-level. The build quality is fine, but for $150-$200, it's a bit pricey. It's adequate and sounds lovely for $300! I would strongly suggest it. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be I only gave it four stars because the customer service was poor. Following my guitar's loss in the mail, the people on the phone kept giving me the runaround. Finally, I had to insist on speaking with the manager, who was able to resolve my problem. Even a year later, I'm not happy with that, as I recall the dreadful headache they gave me.
