Selected User Reviews For Cordoba C5 CD Classical Acoustic Nylon String Guitar, Iberia Series

Sound, value, and quality are exceptional
5/5

I would strongly suggest it. Don't be fooled by its low price into thinking it's just a "beginner's guitar" - it's far more than that. This guitar has such a great sound for the price, and it plays well for players of all skill levels. I've been playing for 20 years, and for the money, this beats 90% of classical guitars, as well as many acoustic guitars in general. br>br>The build quality is excellent - Smooth neck/frets (don't cut your fingers), perfect consistency and smooth finish, playable right out of the box with a little tuning. Tuners of high quality. br>br>Wonderful! br>br> matched woods, as well - When strumming a guitar in tune, you only hear a certain level of sound. Keep an ear out for it. The guitar reverberates, the sound expands, and a tone emerges that isn't just in tune with each other, but "plays" with it. It's a lot of fun to listen to, and THIS guitar delivers. br>br>Amazon is great because the first one I got had quality issues, but they quickly exchanged it for a new one, and everything is fine now. It's to be expected when something is made in China, but not because the factory or craftsmanship are poor (they are), but an instrument made of wood is being shipped across the ocean to you! ]br>br>I can't say enough good things about this guitar, and I would recommend it to anyone of any skill level - Even seasoned players (don't be fooled by their non-verbal communication) can make mistakes. 5 star reviews (after playing for a while, you develop certain tastes). br>br>I did a side-by-side comparison. a side-by-side comparison of four other people:
- a La Paterie cedar top from the 1970s (Cordoba sounded better in terms of price and availability)br>- Taiwan in the 1990s is comparable- made Yamaha G225 (better balance but not as much projection as the C5)br>- Cordoba C5 SP (spruce top version) - Cordoba C5 SP (spruce top version) - Cordoba C5 SP As expected, the version with the spruce top projects more, with crisper highs. Because I'm an acoustic guitar player rather than a classical guitarist, I went with the spruce top. Cedar is an excellent tone wood for a more mellow, balanced sound, as found in classical music. Spruce is excellent for adding separation and projection to a sound.
- Lucero LC200 - Lucero LC200 is a Lucero product that This was surprising because, despite the fact that the one I got out of the box was junk (it had cracked during manufacture shipping), the build quality appeared to be quite good. They pushed for the use of more expensive materials (bone-like materials). Like type nut, better strings), but cutting through that, it's an even better value for the price (even cheaper), BUT crack not- Despite this, the sound was too green and did not open up as much as the Cordoba. Even in perfect condition, I don't think it would have sounded as good as the C5.

3/5

This guitar wasn't playable right out of the box! Now that I've got everything set up, it sounds good, not great, but about right. br>br>Be aware that if you purchase one of these, you will either have to set it up yourself or take it to a music store to be properly set up. Take it to a professional if you have no idea what you're doing. br>br>After receiving and attempting to play this guitar, I decided to store it for a few days in the case that I purchased separately. The case's lid, however, would not close due to the neck's severe bowedness. The truss rod needed to be adjusted. br>br>I took it out of the humidified case after a few days to see how it was doing. The neck tension was still where I wanted it to be, but the action was still ridiculous. Between the 12th fret and the low E string, I could nearly stack a dollar in quarters. The fret board needed to be conditioned as well. br>br>Once I got new strings (the ones that came with it were terrible), I measured the distance between the strings and the 12th fret. I took out the old strings as well as the saddle. To properly condition the fret board, I used lemon oil. Then I took measurements and sanded the saddle until it was the right height. I then put the new strings in place. br>br>I read a review where the guitar was said to be out of tune. New strings, as well as new guitars with new strings, must be stretched and tuned to ensure that they remain in tune. Nylon strings take a little longer to tie to the bridge and the tuner than steel strings. It took about 30 minutes to stretch the new strings properly after they were installed. br>br>In the end, this guitar is a good choice for a beginner classical guitarist. I intend to purchase a higher-quality classical guitar once I improve my classical skills (I've been playing HEAVY METAL for more than 35 years). I'm not going to buy another Cordoba after receiving this one in such poor condition!.

I was dissatisfied with the poor quality of the product
3/5

Based on previous reviews, I had high expectations for this guitar. The quality of this Cordoba C5 has dissatisfied me greatly. I only bought the house in December of last year, and today I discovered the bridge was broken. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it now that the return period has expired.

Instrument that is beautifully built
5/5

There were no dents or blemishes on the guitar when it arrived. The wood has a beautiful sheen to it. For about a day, I let the guitar sit in my playing room at room temperature and humidity. With the help of a digital tuner, I was able to fine-tune the instrument. It took three days of major re-organization. tuning until a pleasing sound balance was achieved Now, each time I play, I simply do some minor retuning. I have a pleasant, deep, and distinct voice.

It makes a nice sound
5/5

I'm a beginner with only an electric and an acoustic guitar at my disposal. My teacher had a C5 classical guitar, and I fell in love with the sound and the fact that the body was smaller and easier to handle, so I purchased one. That sounds amazing! This is an amazing instrument! Are you getting your money's worth? That's a personal opinion, but if this were to be hit by a car, I'd replace it.

This guitar is stunning in both appearance and sound
5/5

This guitar is stunning in both appearance and sound. I own seven guitars, two of which are Gibsons and two of which are Martins. One of the Martins is a nylon-stringed folk guitar from 1966, and I also have an Aria flamenco guitar. My two nylon-string guitars don't sound as good as this Cordoba. I bought it for my granddaughter for Christmas; she'll adore it because she has a good ear for music and the guitar is well-made, light, and simple to play. Because I didn't buy it in its original packaging, I received a $30 discount. It hasn't been scuffed in any way. It's also worth noting that the inside of the guitar's tag does not say "China," which is a plus. For $270, I couldn't be more pleased.
