The bells were originally purchased in January 2015 and I loved them from the get-go. It is still in use. Since I wanted more, I got the "same" bells (Sept 2016) to get the same tone I expected something different, but what I received was not what I expected. Box was a different color, bells were a different color, tonal quality was different (2nd set was flat), and the resonance was also different. Both my original 2015 bells ring this year, as well as my "new" 2016 bells ring today. My heart is broken. Having returned home.
These were purchased for our daughter who is a few years younger than the recommended age range but does very well with these. Her notes and music are color coordinated, and she is starting to learn how to read music (with colors). I really like the sound on these-- This is a clear and loud voice. We find them very intriguing for our child as they are easy to play. Honestly, I've seen her aunt play with them on her own while she is there alone. I give this review four stars for only two (minor) reasons. A little younger child of mine likes to set them down on the floor when the tone becomes agitated. Thus, the paint on the bottom edge appears to be in good condition. I was not able to stand up as well as I wanted. As she settles the bells, she looks at some paint flaking off the lip of the bell. She isn't slamming them down. That probably would not have happened if we had carpeting.
