If you are using a TR- then you would need to use that Supply for 220 volts with 8-segment LEDs. With the TR-2000, there is a power supply 110 volts is the voltage rating of the 8S.
I bought it as a gift for someone & I don't know where to start
It was in reality a complex and limited program, even if it sounded great. I would not necessarily use it for live events
Selected User Reviews For Roland AIRA Rhythm Performer (TR-8S)
The sound is excellent! My music writing depends on a drum machine, so I've been looking for one for a while. A simple and cheap machine with a few kits was what I was going to get. The decision I made to not go was such a good one. This is a well-worth the price even though it is pricey. It has so many settings that can be tweaked and you can get exactly the sound you want with this machine. When I am listening to music online, I hear a lot of sounds I have heard on this drum machine, so it is cool to know I can replicate those beats with the drum kit I can build in the machine. I can almost play right out of the box the day I got it. It was easy to find my answer in the user manual if I had any questions. It is a slick design. My only complaint is that it feels a little light and fragile. But at Harbor Freight I bought a hardshell case with foam protection for it Even though I bought this gear for my writing, I'm confident I can take it out on a show and provide high quality sounds. I really like that this thing was built to be played live. This gear was impressive when hooked up to some of our pro audio subwoofers and speakers which we use for big events. I work in the audio visual industry and was able to hook it up to some professional audio subwoofers and speakers. The best buy of the year!.
There was just something not quite right about it or I expected more. As far as the sound goes, I get set up with the typical 909 kicks and blips for techno, but they don't really work. Just didn't sound as if I couldn't find the same thing elsewhere for a lower price. Although it does have ACB, it feels sturdy for the most part. Only a couple of the buttons and knobs felt a bit soft at first as I pressed them, but they worked just fine. I can't imagine it withstanding a fall, but the weight is okay. The volume fader would simply act as mute depending on the volume of the built-in sound, and any effects applied. So I couldn't hear anything when the volume was set at 50%. Although I realize this thing could probably shine more with your own sounds, I am a Roland fanboy, and it should have all the sounds My electronic music practice dates back 17 years and I've heard some of the OG TRs, I've used grooveboxes, and I've heard plenty of analog gear. You can hear a lot of my analog gear in my room. If a universal health care plan is proposed, I once purchased a solution that used to sell for more than I paid ($699), but the value of the product did not justify the price. Even so, I still really like you, Roland. I think this device could really use a critical evaluation other than the 5-star rating you gave me. You cannot give it a star because that is not 100% accurate. This would be a great choice if you're new to all this stuff, and your ears haven't heard 808 open hats in 20 years, and you want an experience without relying on a DAW. As long as you know what you're doing and can do it properly, the price is not in line with the value of the product - from my experience - To me, it just looks like The thing is, you could say that about a lot of things but that's the way I feel about In terms of value, I'd say this was worth $399 brand new at the time of posting, and the USD exchange rate at that time was extremely favorable.
Then I had some more time with it, and I was able to use it as an ableton live controller for both Reason 10 and Ableton Live 9. It is an audio/midi interface, and both of its audio and midi are transferred over USB, so it is pretty The TR-80 is so much fun when it comes to sequencing my DAW rhythm tracks When you sequence your drums in 8S, you can program them just as you would if you sequenced the onboard drums In terms of how it works, it is the same. If you prefer still using the internal sounds, then you can send it in as an audio file. Whenever I've used a TR- I think of it as an investment My expectations were exceeded big time with this 8S! I have purchased quite a few things this year, and this, along with the Novation Circuit, are two As well as being aesthetically pleasing, it is very functional. This is a new product for me, and I still have a lot to learn, and master, and there are many features to master! The TB-virus is also present in my body There is also a third track which is great with this, and they sound wonderful I did not have any problems hooking up my equipment and getting it all synced up. Especially amazing is the sound quality we hear on this unit, and the variety of ways you can tailor your patterns that makes live performance a real treat. My favorite part of this unit is all the variations of fills you can add, and the sorting of fills into 2 or This combined with shuffle can bring these songs to life, making them sound less stale or repetitive. It's hard to believe that all the classic Roland machines are built in as sound models. As far as I know, I am not the person to side by side compare them with the originals and say they're perfect, and I am not after perfect either. Just listening to them makes me happy. You get a feel for what this can do through the presets, and you can get started with your own patterns with the help of them. In addition to being easy and fun to use, this device allows you to do a lot of easy tinkering live, as well as get a lot of variations either automated or live. It sounds great too! Getting set up is straightforward, and it is ready to go out of the box, but there are tons of features to keep me interested for a while! You can add flams, and you can control the gap between them too! To me, as someone who plays drums, that's a really cool feature, among No idea if this is of any help to anyone trying to decide. But I wanted to let everyone know I was not disappointed with what I got, and actually received a bit more than I expected from it, and I am very pleased. This will be updated if it changes as I learn how the machine works.
Performers in the electronic music field will love this "active" drum machine which allows you to tweak the tones in real-time. It has all the X0X drum sounds found in Roland's classic drum machines, plus it lets you There are two problems, one is expensive and the other is inconvenient. Adding a FM synth to the 0. 1. 0 Firmware update brings many great new features. Having SamAsh as an Amazon third party seller is a grave mistake. A major portion of the product box was damaged, and without cushioning it came loose within a large box. In an ideal world, I would have returned it immediately, but the rewards points I used to purchase it were not reinstateable, so I would have returned it after months. Due to this, I will need to rely on the warranty from the manufacturer.
