Nobody wants their tom, bass, or snare sound to be muffled. However; It's just necessary from time to time during practice and recording. It reduces snare buzz, gives a bass drum a pop, and helps that 18" tom settle down faster. The fact that there are 60 of them is the cherry on top. So, if you don't want to do it, you can use the clears because they aren't visible. Otherwise, you'll have 60 of these guys to shuffle around and see if they can fit where you need them, and I've learned a neat trick. I'd never tried anything like this in my 25 years of living, but it worked, and having so many was the key. Rather than covering my 11-piece set with 13 cymbals with a sheet, I simply applied them to the cymbals during high-volume guitar recording and they stopped ringing. It only took a few minutes, and I was no longer bending over cymbal stands or requiring assistance in my small studio. I'm going to buy some more because they can be washed and reused like moon gels, but they're less sticky and replaceable. Rock on.
Simple to put together.
Gauze and duct tape are not allowed to be used on the heads. Heads of drums!.
