Would you mind telling me how the head is doing? If it's fluffy, is it encased in a nylon-like material that prevents the hair from shedding?

I am talking about the hard head here, not the soft one. Specifically, these mallets are for my son because the marching band drum instructor requested them.

Compared with an online music store, the price is half. He used them for all of marching band season on 5th bass and said they held up well. It is very hard work for my son to play tennis.
