As an alternative to the regular snare in his Pearl set, he uses this now. This snare has a nice pop to it, and you can play it right out of the box after tuning up the head and adjusting the strap. The quality of the headstocks and hardware is fantastic. Metal is his main genre of music.
It is an amazing company, I ordered the Pearl Piccolo black steel snare drum the next day and it was delivered the next day. After playing drums for 47 years, I ordered this snare due to the good reviews and reasonable price. My first set of drums were Pearl, so when I read the reviews This is the best snare drum I have ever owned regardless of price. I got it out of the box, tuned it a bit and now I have the best sound. There should be no problem using this snare for any genre of music. I am mainly into classic rock, but it will work fine for any other style as well as being able to tune it high or low and still sound My favorite part of this song is the crisp driving drum sound. It is a pleasure to work with Pearl and to have such a high quality, affordable The Johnnytec (JJtec).
This song has a great crack when the snares are in place, but I love it even more when they are I love the sound of this I like the snare throw off for its good build and ease of movement. I love the size of the room. A portable and lightweight design makes it easy to transport. It is a good looking finish, and the hoop is of good My recommendation is to try it out.
It was a great deal for the money, I think I bought some REMO drum heads for it.
I am very pleased with this drum. The song has a strong attack and no shortage of "pop". It is a versatile instrument and can be used for any style of music. ". Ska, reggae, Latin, and jazz are best suited to the technique. You will love this drum if you take a lot of rim shots. The price of the instrument is also hard to beat for its quality. Here's a suggestion If you are using this drum, you should use a Remo Ambassador. *BRIEF WARNING* You don't want to While it is tempting owing to how highly pitched it is, it is bad for the drum (and the head) to tune it too high.
It comes with what appears to be a USA patch. 2 of them were purchased. Because of reviews I had read, I decided to use 3mm Gibraltar hoops to replace the thin ones that came with this. Basically, this drum sounds fantastic and has what looks like the USA made Remo Ambassador at the top! What surprised me is how nice the midrange sound coming out of this thing is. If you want some tight funky sounds, you should buy it.
This is what I use on all of my snares (6 in total). In less than 15 minutes, I tuned it up and it sounds gorgeous. For practice, it serves as a good snare because it's crisp, snappy, and not quite as heavy as a 5 1/2 inch or 6 1/2 inch metal. With a higher end pearl, you really can't go wrong.
