On the adjustable surface there is a mixer board that can securely hold a mixer board, while on the vertical rack there are miscellaneous powered amplifiers, powered distributors, etc. Since there are no rear rack posts, it makes sense that the materials and weight of the equipment should be dictated by common sense since huge items such as a 100lbs UPS or a deep shelf item such as a blade server would be foolish. These casters have smooth braking and their brakes lock securely so you know they're engaged. Their brakes work well with a solid feel to them. The packaging of this item is weak, and parts are missing, according to other reviews. I have also had problems with the box. It is cheap, thin, and weak. The stand was short 8 washers (the instructions state that additional washers were included for stability) and the two knobs used to lock the adjustable surface in place did not screw into the nuts welded for the purpose (which was fine since 2 pins are just as secure and quicker to adjust). Due to my past experiences with more expensive server racks, I expect a nightmare assembling the rack, and I was pleasantly surprised after 10 minutes to find it easy. In the event I needed another rack for my business in the future, I would buy it without hesitation. This is an excellent mixer stand. It came together very smoothly and is extremely My Korg D3200 Mixer/Recorder as well as a monitor go with it. These are really pretty decent for the price. I would have liked if the screws were different from other racks I've owned in the past, but perhaps I'm living in the past. They are still holding up. I clearly intend to use this item at home, but it will last me a very long time.
I have been blown away by this mobile rack mount. It is even better than I had anticipated. There is no reason to be disappointed based on the price. My audio interfaces and outboard analog gear fit perfectly on it, and it's sturdy enough to withstand the weight. As far as the durability of the rack goes, I can't say if it would hold up to heavier or larger equipment. However, for single-and double-rack configurations, it certainly stands up well. As well as being easy to build, it took only a few hours.
I have no problem storing all my outboard gear on this rack. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I wish there were add-ons. Straps to lock my mixer in place and extra flat surfaces for other gear were extras I had to purchase with the cart.
Though the assembly instructions are a bit unclear, I was able to put it together properly, and the size was perfect.
