Questions & Answers

Is there a way I can record my guitar by plugging it into this?

Robert was saying that if you have a 13-digit number it would be much easier to find An analog GK-style pickup would be suitable In case number 3 you could use adapters from something like the Boss SY-28 On this device you can play synth sounds, but you can't record any While Elektron makes many fine samplers you could use to record guitars, they aren't the type of thing you'd use to record a song as if it were a multitrack The FM synthesizer has a six-channel configuration which makes it really cool This is a sequencer with tracks. I think this is very cool if you're looking for a way to program unique drum and bass parts to accompany your guitar playing, such as a super drum machine, or any other sound you'd like. The only thing that you can absolutely not use it for is recording audio. If you need to track audio in a few tracks, Zoom makes little boxes that do that. Digital synths and samplers made by Elektron are some of the best in the world. Those looking to expand their sonic palette will find it a great value for their money with this relatively inexpensive unit. used to have a Digitone, the "big brother" unit of this one, I had to sell it due to a terrible family illness, but I loved that computer. It is hard to find FM sounds better than those offered by Elektron.

Where can I find the connectors, adapters, and power source?

There is a wall wart with an adapter for international plugs, two midi connectors, a usb to micro usb cable and a midi cable

The sounds are good, but the features are strangely limited
4/5

In general, I find the program to be pretty intuitive. I had no trouble getting started, and making sounds is simple, even if terminology makes it seem a bit out of place. Since there is not an ADSR for this sound, you must create your own volume envelope by using the single LFO available for it. This pack includes stickers I used to spell out swear words on stuff.

I like it
5/5

This has mostly been a fun experience. Elektron has a reputation for being "a hard workflow to get into". This manual really lives up to that. It's obviously put together with much thought, but it requires more than just a few brain cells to keep up. For certain portions of the manual, I used a highlighting marker to mark up the text. Having been using it for two months now, it still works. The manual is a good place to start! I like the sounds, for the most part. It took a lot of effort to find ways to make a product that did not waste much It's awesome to have a sequencer. The Model Working with it After experiencing Cycles, I feel confident that an Elektron device that costs more might actually be worth the price.

A terrible pad marred the experience
3/5

You can get a variety of sounds out of it, which is pretty fun. There is an absurdly stiff feel to the pads. The trouble is, one can make a variety of adjustments to try to solve the problem, but the basic problem remains that it's just so damn hard to get the damn things moving. This makes it difficult to use over USB, so you have to smack them really hard. Another weakness is that it cannot be powered through USB, so it is not portable. This was returned, so it cannot be used for any further purposes.

There's lots of fun to be had
5/5

I consider this to be a key piece of kit. Performance is greatly improved. There is all kinds of cool FM sound to be found by twisting knobs. It is easier to compose sound with the digitone than with its older brother. A 300 dollar investment is well worth it.

The performance of a $300 groove box is pretty good
3/5

Fun to use and easy to get started, this groove box is a great way to have fun. There doesn't seem to be much Despite its size, it is portable and light. There is a lot of thickness and durability to the plastic. A fun sticker kit is included to personalize the book. As a $300 unit, the sounds are pretty versatile, but I find the snare instrument to be pretty meh, and that's a real con in my opinion.

This is an amazing introduction to analog
4/5

An excellent way to learn how to produce and perform analog. With these grooves and sounds, you can really get some satisfying sounds. You should ensure that your headphones or speakers are connected with the correct adapters. Make sure to watch plenty of YouTube videos to understand the full potential of this product. All of the pads are very stiff, which can be uncomfortable after playing on them for an extended period.
