Consult someone who knows what they are doing. The reason I gave this 3 stars is that the extra bridge, shoulder rest, music stand, music tuner and extra strings came with the instrument and case but were not included. When I contacted the seller, they sent me the shoulder rest, an extra bridge, a music tuner, and a music stand. They still didn't include Pegs keep slipping during tuning, making it hard for you to tune. The next step is to visit the local music store to determine if it just needs a new set of pegs or if they need to be This may cure the problem, but if it doesn't I will return it. I must say, this instrument is absolutely stunning. My only problem was a loose sound post inside, so I used wood glue to glue it back in place (I had played the instrument previously, so I was familiar with how it performed). -The bow is not exceptional, it's of very low quality, and it can be fixed by simply getting As for the price, I give it 5 out of 5, even with some irritating fixes needed. However, I have a good understanding of the basic parts and function, so I see how they can be fixed. It's as simple as pulling it out of the case for someone with no knowledge. If you want a professional opinion on this instrument, I would recommend having a musician familiar with it set it up for you. Quite a few of the things that need to be done are merely fixes to a few new instrument bugs, This has been the experience that I have personally had.
Having no idea whether or not my child would continue to play the instrument made me reluctant to spend a lot of money on it. It took her a while to adjust, but she has now developed an affinity for (Her teacher has told her not to use the shoulder rest). The stand is not very sturdy, as well. It's not free, but what you pay for will always be the same. The instrument is not bad for a beginner who wants to practice and do.
This is definitely a worthwhile purchase. Excellent value for the money. Once we opened it up, it was pretty easy to set up and the sound is decent. This is a great violin for beginners. It was the perfect choice for my son's first year in orchestra and I'm glad I brought it home. He may or may not continue to do this, and I didn't want to pay to much money for it. Purchasing an instrument we own outright for just the price of 3 months worth of rent would be a far better deal.
Although the setup was a bit difficult, I was able to find a step by step video on youtube. This is a great resource for beginners. As soon as the bridge has fully settled, you will need to tune it regularly.
I wouldn't recommend buying this product. The strings broke after just 4 days. I spoke to customer service and was told it will give me a refund so I can get new strings (amazing customer service by the way!) but I don't want to buy a product that might break again or is of Therefore, decide what you will do.
Knobs do not hold, they are poorly made, and unable to tune.
Multiple pieces were broken when it was delivered.
